Procrastination vs Laziness

6 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura

When I started indulging in PD simultaneously same incident happened to me as happened with Leo that ended up in visualizing myself in great body.

I became aware of all the shifting of limiting beliefs in my psyche. Also, I didn't know about Leo's work at that time.

All the LoA theory was resonating with my health. I am fit and healthy physically.

Now My life perception has become like this  that Why should grinding be done in any facet of life when subconscious mind/LoA can make that happen effortlessly.   (Procrastination excuse)

Problem is that how I get my subconscious to work. Whenever I try to visualize, meditate, read books etc , resistance/ego backclash  prevents me from doing it. It triggers anytime anywhere when I realize about the importance of action for my growth.

Now, I am just overflown with information, I am just hiding from the actual work by stimulating myself from low-grade things like internet, sports, porn, rsd pickup videos, and all other shit.

Also, I stopped reading books because of mental masturbation.

I am not able to apply and stick anything in my life.

How do I step up ?

Any advice is valuable this time.

Thanks in Advance !

@Athemnajar the situation is like a stalemate. you are facing your problems but it’s going like a game played by two people. one time “you” move, then the other “you” moves and you don’t stop, because you just react. it feels like you have seen through a door but it’s constantly closing again when you want to step through it.

i’d recommend to try to get a foot in the door and focus on eliminating the bad habits first. these habits are the corner where you hide from the actual work - (it’s kind of funny as for me the actual work is the procrastination from the actual work ?)

so you see i know what i’m talking about.

so dismantling the procrastination triggers is a good start, you name them as ego backlashes, write them down in your journal analyze them and then removing them one by one would be my recommendation and replacing them with a positive habit. you start with the one that is the most unhealthy and doesn’t bring you any further. (my big mouth) you see i’m also not there yet but this helped me with stopping smoking.

i know it might be not meant like that but theoretically i’m a hero in changing the use of something so you could also try to understand every problem as an ox you need to catch.

Am i understanding correctly that you feel like the positive experience you have had with the law of attraction is preventing you from doing things that take consistency and effort?

If yes you might want to make that an object of your law of attraction practice. You can see yourself  working hard but without strain or effort. You can also try doing mindfulness meditation and realize that any resistance can only come up as something you see, hear or feel. And then be completely equanimous with each of those components.

So in summary re-frame your problem as the resistance that prevents you from putting in the work and use all the tools you have available to solve it.

Hello my friend,

My advice is still rudimentary, as I still struggle with the same things.

Considerations might be:

-If you are male, NoFap can give you a huge boost in motivation and discipline. For that see r/NoFap.

-Self Love is an extremely important factor in this. You will backslide, you will procrastinate etc. and self love can shorten you way back into action. Also, you feel less shitty. For Self Love check out Matt Kahn "Love is the Only Answer" on Youtube.

-Train to do uncomfortable stuff. Right after reading this, get into the shower and instantly turn the water ice cold. Stay there until you cant take it anymore. Do that daily.

I wish you the best of luck.

@Athemnajar It almost sounds like you are upset by the fact that working is not hard for you anymore.
The question is: do you have a good life?

  • If yes - then why struggle to struggle?
  • If not - then cultivate a peaceful mind.

When it comes to growth: we all grow straight to the coffin. Why the hurry? You cannot outpace yourself.

@Athemnajar The first thing to question yourself is: what is it about procrastination that upsets you? Is it the cognitive dissonance of wanting to do something, but not actually doing it? Is it something else? Get to the root of this issue first.

The next thing to do is realise that you have many people inside you fighting for attention. See here for an idea about that: quitting smoking . This is a recipe for avoiding addiction.

Third is to set up some away and toward motivations in your life. These need to be exciting/scary  enough that you'll actually do them. At the moment for you, porn is more exciting than everything else. Put in place things that excite you more than porn. You will definitely have to work harder to achieve this - but if it motivates you enough, you'll do it. The subtlety to this wok is knowing yourself well enough to know what will motivate you.

What do you find really exciting or really scary?

All stories and explanations are false.
