@integration journey Sorry for the late response. You are quite correct, Dostoevsky can be quite something if you’re coming from contemporary personal development books! But precisely in the sense-making and grueling contemplation lies the value. You are forced to reason through and find answers within yourself—answers that will be by your side for the rest of your life. I will never forget those early winter mornings. Going for walks after reading, feverish from many cups of coffee. That book stays with you forever, I have never read anything that touches as deeply. All the best.

The Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

It definitely was the case for me. I contemplated my reasons for striving to become a great writer for a couple of weeks, and finally I found out that at the very bottom it was out of a desire to stand above all people that have hurt me in the past, to sort of become a higher human, one of exceptional worth. And why I wanted that was just for love--I wanted to be loved. Finding this out allowed me to immerse myself in my authentic motivation for writing: because I love it, and I want to show people their angel. It has allowed me to stop writing out of fear, and start writing out of love. All the best.

Sounds like quite the journey. Be proud of yourself, seems like you've come a long way. Good stuff!

@lostingenosmaze ? The family posted the news on their facebook, numerous of his colleagues and friends have confirmed it and paid their respects, how he was found has been described, news articles have been written. Genuinely have no idea how you could’ve gotten it into your mind that this could be fake.

@The Crocodile Disliking his work is fine, and expressing it openly is fine too, but calling it ‘pretentious garbage’ in a thread dedicated to him after he just died is a bit much. Just be decent.
-
@The Crocodile Read the room. I was only joking with my previous comment, but now you're being quite inappropriate. If you don't like Lynch's work, that's fine, but take into consideration the feelings of those that did really relate to and love his stuff. Have some respect, especially now.

@The Crocodile Don’t talk to me or my son every again.

@Leo Gura I think he mentions Dune precisely as being one of the great sadnesses of his life because he did not have final cut, so he probably agrees with you, haha.
