@Leo Gura Can I ask what qualities @NoSelfSelf  demonstrated to you that made you think he was fit to moderate in the first place?

How different was his initial character than to what is shown here? Because his toxicity has been evident to me since the day I signed up on this forum and I'm not just saying that because of my own personal run in's with him. 

What did you see in him that you no longer do?

I appreciate you guys for putting me forward I just don't think I'd have the time to do the job justice unfortunately. But great picks anyway if I had to vote for one I'd go @CARDOZZO his posts are always good value. Would've said @Emerald as well but she's already said she can't do it. 

Regarding @NoSelfSelf can't say i didnt see it coming and i agree with @Leo Gura in that it does really degrade the forum and make Leo look bad for having him in a leadership role, so i wouldve made thevsame decision. Wish him all the best though and hopefully he does look back on this and see where he went wrong

Unfortunately demoting someone from Mod is not always easy because people can take it personally.

Actually, my conversations with him go much further back than Jan 1st, me trying to nudge him to post in a more mature manner. But he was not open to changing his posting style, deeming it as "weakness" to cave to people's sensitivities. His position was that if he took my feedback he would weakening himself to wokeness or political correctness. I explained to him that the opposite is the case, that this was an opportunity to develop more empathy and better communication skills, but he disagreed on principle.

It pains me to ban people from here. Especially a Mod. But sometimes there's no other choice.

What are the Criteria to be considered a Mod?

Given my strengths and weaknesses I'm guessing you think I'm about average. That would probably make me around stage green.

Keep in mind that while you guys know me very well, I hardly know most of you. There are hundreds of people here and it's hard to keep track of everyone. People come and go, usernames change, fake identities are used, etc. I have very little information about most of you and I don't read and remember all your posts.

I was contemplating that last night. Honestly, I don't recall anymore. I selected him a long time ago and I couldn't remember why. But I remember him being much more grounded and more mature back then. Somehow over the years the frog slowly got boiled and even though I smelled that something was off about him, I also give mods more of the benefit of the doubt and leeway because they do a lot of thankless work and I don't like just demoting them out of the blue because that is hurtful.

In reteospect I should have been more decisive about his odd behavior. Sometimes I see odd behavior in people here and I try to just let it go, so that I am not too controlling or authoritarian. But this can backfire as things can fester and then blow up.
