If you are not intelligent enough to figure out what solipsism means all on your own, you shouldn't be taught about solpsism because you are not intelligent enough to realize it, integrate it, nor appreciate.

Learning rationality is useful. Learning rigor is useful for STEM type fields.

The solution to this issue is easy:
It is to realize that the ontological nature of reality is that it is consciousness, which is fluid and relative, not a collection of static material objects.
The key mistake of rationalism is assuming that reality is made up out of crisp discreet parts and objects. It is not.
There really is no such thing as a "child" or an "adult". These are convenient fictions that humans invented to help themselves navigate and survive. These things have no objective ontology at bottom.

My best advice to you is to start seeing the beauty of illusion. Reality is an Absolute Illusion and you shouldn't want it any other way! Once you embrace that, things get delicious.
I recommend you continue doing low doses of mushrooms to help you develop a deep appreciation for illusion and Consciousness. You've already done the hardest part. Now you can reap the fruits. Don't turn your back on God so easily. Confront your remaining fears. Look God in the face.

But it is also a function of one's values. The sad reality is that almost no one values truth or genuine unbiased understanding of reality, therefore they are incapable of good thinking. 
You can't become good at that which you do not value.

Crime rates are way down.
Pollution and smog is way down.
Technology is amazing and cheap.
All the world's knowledge is available to you basically for free via AI.
Cars are safer than ever.
Racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia are way down.
Psychedelics are much more acceptable and accessible and better-understood.
The 3rd world is doing MUCH better, like China, India, Africa, South America, even Russia.
And don't forget the most important one:

Studying academic philosophy at a small liberal arts college -- like Reed, Williams, Wesleyan, Oberlin -- is probably a lot better than at a big research university like UCLA.
Profs at small colleges are less attached to scholarly one-upmanship and more into the subject matter itself, and the teaching of it. That said, I was taught mostly by boomers, who had a much more chill and exploratory education than people educated after the 1973 oil crisis. 
GenX and millennial professors had to go through so much angst to get their jobs, that even Reed profs are now probably ruthlessly careerist and highly specialized like the profs at R1s.

It's hard to say. In some subtle way, sure. But really, my philosophy degree/education was such shit. Embarassingly poor in retrospect. And I went to a pretty good university and studied hard.
University cannot make you a good philosopher. If you want that, you gotta do it yourself. I consider academic philosophy a scam. But maybe there are some better programs out there than what I experienced.

My answer to you is simple and the same as before:
If you are struggling so much with these questions then you are not mature enough for marriage.
It's like you are a child struggling to play basketball with the adults and wondering why. The answer is that you still have yet to grow up. And growing up is not something you can just do by believing yourself to be grown up, you actually have to go through the difficult and long process of growing up. It's not a state, it's a stage, as Wilber would say.
You have to be honest about your own level of maturity and development in this work. It is easy to fool ourselves that we are more mature than we really are.
Realistically, if you want a successful marriage you would need to strategize years into advance, create a period on your life where you have lots of sex with lots of people, get that craving out of your system, learn what you need in a wife, and then select a wife AFTER all that. That would be an intelligent method, rather than just stumbling into a marriage by accident.
People mostly fail in life from lack of sold pragmatic long-term strategy, diligently executed.
You expect marraige to be accidental rather than something you craft through a decade of prep-work. The less forethought you put into major life endeavors the more traps you will fall into.
Then again, maybe you are mature enough. I don't know you.

I am mostly just exploring what's possible since it's uncharted territory. I'm not in a rush to get anywhere or obtain any kind of result or to show anything off, or even to be understood. It's mostly just a private thing I do.

What happened was, I reached levels of alien consciousness that no one ever talks about because they aren't conscious enough to reach it.
And those levels are virtually impossible to talk about. So I explore them on my own. I don't even bother trying to explain it to people any more. I don't do my deepest work anymore for anyone but myself. What I talk about publicly is shallow stuff designed for human consumption. And even that most of you here don't understand.

I have a girlfriend.  I have known her since high school, and we recently got together. 
One of the concerns I have is that she wants kids by age 35, and I am not so certain.
We both know that we don't want kids right now but she wants them later when her career has been established.
I, on the other hand, am still uncertain and unclear as to whether I want kids or not.
Kids are a huge responsibility and does not seem like something that is in my top 10 values.  
But, on the other hand, I am not for sure if having children is something that I will want in the future or is something I would regret not doing.
I really love the woman I am with, but I can see that years down the road, this issue of having children will be the deciding factor of our relationship.
What are your alls thoughts on having children?
Are children helpful to self-actualization and spiritual awakening and doing serious philosophy?
I can imagine that having children would make it hard to be a Serious Philosopher.
