Hyper-seconded. The Tree of Life is my favorite movie of all time. Another good Malick movie is The Thin Red Line.

In turn, I'll recommend Wong-Kar Wai's Ashes of Time.

Seven Years In Tibet - powerful messages about ego, powerstruggles and narcissism.

Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds - the four part documentary is on YouTube. I didn't know it then when I watched it the first time, but this is the documentary that opened me up to non-duality. Didn't understand shit the first time I watched it.

Samadhi part 1 & 2 - also on YouTube. From the same creator as Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds.

The "free of dialogue" movies Chronos, Baraka and Samsara. The most beautiful movies ever made. The cinematography is out of this world.

Human part 1 - 3. All available on YouTube as well. Nothing but interviews with people all around the world. Watch without judging. The perfect documentary if you're into Spiral Dynamics. Thank me later.

Also you can find eternal truth in the simplest of movies. One of those truths is love. It doesn't have to come from someone who knows about love as deeply as some yogis or saints. It's intrinsic in all of us and some directors express it intuitively.

I dare all of you to watch "Roma", the new Alfonso Cuaron movie, it's on Netflix. It's not only utterly beautiful and personal. It's so strong in what it says. It's about love. And it puts the relative in perspective to the absolute. It's contemplative, slow, meditative. It's a damn fine piece of art.

Life is Beautiful

In the scene above he creates a story to spare his son the horrible truth.

Evokes strong emotions mixing humor and tragedy.

Also lots of great symbolism and meaning in Lord of the Rings Trilogy,,,

Go to IMDB and search for whatever you want. Sort the movies by number of votes and you get the best movies for your search criteria.

You can search for keywords as well. It's all about finding something that speaks to you. All movies have short plot synopsis and a trailer to check out if it sounds interesting.

If you've done a lot of self-actualization work you can get value, meaning and juice from every movie, as every single character, scene and story adds to your understanding as human being on planet earth. There is value in higher consciousness movies and low consciousness movies, you either learn what meaningfully inspires you, or what doesn't. That being said, I do know what you understand in valuable movies and I've actually made a blog post about this on my blog. It includes some of the most enlightening, liberating and mind-blowing movies I've watched along my journey! Hope you enjoy : )
