@blazed Might because you went balls deep too fast. I think we should gradually prolong the periods of breathing.

As I said I feel great after doing it, even 10 min which I tried today. Do you think it'd be ok to do a short 10-20 min session every day, just for the feel good effect? (on top of a weekly longer session)

You want dark stuff to come up? :D

I think each person is different, some people have emotional problems, inner demons,  or things on their minds, some people have expectation of woowoo stuff and so their mind's manifests what they want.

I peak at around 45mins so 90 mins felt the same but it hit the body like a truck afterwards when I felt really sick due to dizziness.

I would recommend you move up in increments and see how you feel each time instead of doing a long session as you might puke, I came very close!

I think it's also interesting to mention that at that same night right before I was about to sleep, it was all quiet but then I started hearing some rumbling noise from outside on the streets, I wasn't sure what it was and suddenly I have this immense fear rushing through all of my body, a fear of death, so strong that it made me sweat all over.

I guess I was so shaken at that moment that I thought a tsunami was gonna hit me or some shit.

I had an urge to swallow, is this ok to do, or does this sabotage the technique?

What about the hight of the pillow, should be not to thick in order to not prevent blood flow to the brain?

If you mean the source - unmanifested. I see that end constantly now. I literally see through the reality and “see” unmanifested in any thing. But my point is, trying to spread it directly to others who haven’t experienced it may lead to more beliefs, misunderstandings and attachments...

So is the holotropic/shamanic breathing technique safe or not in the end ?

I've seen a lot of debate arround it and I can't wait to try it but I have my doubts also.

nothing is safe. But if you really want to know, id say relatively safe. Deep divers do the same thing regarding oxgyen levels to their brain. And id say theyre very healthy. Again the only bad thing is one can pass out during a session, which happens if you go in for a long session having never done the technique before. Id just say to not start with 30 minutes, but start with 15, then 20, then 25, 30, 40, 50, and i'd stop at 60 for at home, alone, sessions. More than that you should have a sitter.

I 'd like to share my 2 trips report of this technique : 

1st one 12.04.18 : 

  • Duration : 15-20 m in.
  • Experience : Tiggling, a feeling of peace and positif emotion and a little emotional release with tears.
  • After the session : I felt weird and good at the same time. When I stood up, I was hearing a sound in my mind or ear, it was coming from inside me I am sur. The sound stayed about 5-10 minutes and then disapear.  Did everyone experience hearing a sound ?

2nd one : 20.04.18 :

  • Duration : 15 min
  • Experience : Tiggling, I felt cold, and my eyes opened suddenly like if something huge had come up, I think it was a resistance, I hesitated to stop the experience and then I have decided to keep doing the breathing.  a little emotional release with tears as well during the session. 
  • After the session : I felt calm and very aware.  When I stood up, I was hearing a sound in my mind or ear, it was coming from inside me I am sur. The sound stayed about 5-10 minutes and then disapear like the last time.

 

In between the 2 sessions, after the 1 st session, I felt already more open to people, more alive and a feeling of freedom in my way to speak and when I shot my vidéos on youtubes.  I felt a lot of little emotional release during the week when I took the time to "be" and to do nothing.

It happenned as well when I was mindfully walking in nature or just in the street.  I feel something is happening in my subconscious mind and the fact of thaking the time to be aware of it during my daily life help probably the process of emotions release. So very entousiast about this technique and a big thanks to you Leo for the gift ! :)

1st attempt: 10 min 

Felt some intense tingling in my hands specially at the 10 min mark and then like 6 minutes after also. Feeling some tingling on my feet right now like 12 min after stopping breathing. 

Update (1day later):

- I felt really uncomfortable at the beginning of the breathing, my lower back hurted.

- I don't know if it is related, but today in the morning in my 20 min meditation, I stopped breathing to see if I could breath deeply because many times I feel like my chest is "blocked". So I did that but the opposite happend, I felt a weird pain and also like if someone was pressing my chest. I took small breaths because if not my chest would hurt. I think I have a blocked chakra or something.

- Anyways that's why I started this technique. Next week I'll do 15 min.

@Lurtsi This effect is due to the lack of oxygen to your body and brain. Do some reasearch into oxygen deprevation and whether it is healthy.

@Leo Gura  So are you going to correct your errors and stop spreading misinformation  and be transparent and nonbias or are you going to hide behind a shroud of willed ingnoance and avoidance.  

This technique causes extended oxygen deprevation. That is lack of oxygen to your brain body and organs for the entire duration you pracice it.

Man, this breathing technique resembles the ones I use when I'm exercising (swimming or running). I think that's when my body needs more oxygen. I'm no scientists to state anything but I would be more worried of running a marathon than doing this breathing technique. 

Well not really, because a lot of people run marathons and don't die and holothropic breathing is kind of new and there isn't that much info.

I've done 15 minutes.

I felt a sort of emotionnal release with warmth arround my cheeks as it usually does for me.

Aside from that breathing wasn't that hard felt sometimes scary but no headaches or anything. Doesn't feel different from when I'm swimming for instance.

I had two things :

  • For like 5 minutes after it I had some sort of slight foggy effect on my vision and by that I mean as if REAL fog was injected in my surrounding with photoshop. Felt very strange/strippy.
  • Didn't know what to do about saliva so had to swalow it super fast.

shamanic/holotropic breathing report WEEK 2

Duration: 20 minutes (last week was 15)

Experience: 

-first heat in my head, then tingling in the middle of my chest area (4th chakra area) and tingling in middle of stomach area (3rd chakra area)

-squirming around started earlier (around 5 minute mark)

-was kicking off the blanket/reaching my hands toward the ceiling/rolling over to my side

-random sexual urges that last a minute

-saying i love the world over and over

RECOVERY:

much quicker than last time, took a total of 5 minutes.

-I first saw my 4 year old self and had a random inner-child healing moment there saying stuff like "i love you so much" and even talking back in a toddler voice saying "thank you" i started hugging myself

-afterwards i got a very scary sensation of fear mixed with sadness around my heart area that lasted about 30 seconds

-then i got up and drank water and typed this up :D
