@Laxx Try a 10-day Vipassana retreat, and then you could reevaluate the benefits of meditation. You want bliss, but you don’t appear to have the required staying power at present.

Bliss can most definitely be reached via meditation. It is not merely the state of no thoughts. It is the state of recognising that you are simply a vehicle for whatever is already unfolding (God). Bliss is total surrender to God. Total surrender to your true nature.

Yeah, I know its possible, I've heard of similar stories, but it definitely needs something more than just no thoughts. Your level of consciousness can of course can be raised from means other than psychedelics, but it seems incredibly difficult to reach a permament state of bliss. -

I live in a constant state of no thoughts, for whatever reason, and my experience is not any more blissful than if I was thinking. All I have is a more calm awareness, no feeling of crampedness in my head, and I am more aware of the present moment. But when I take psychedelics and reach far higher levels of consciousness where I am very conscious of love, oneness, and so forth, I feel indescribable bliss far stronger than any orgasm you could have. It's both physical and mental, and even metaphysical. It's just bliss in every conceivable way. It's sheer ecstacy. When many meditators talk about bliss, they are probably referring to the former, not to the actual incredible bliss that you can get from psychedelics. If you actually want true bliss, increase your level of consciousness, as Leo said. -
@Laxx Here’s the truth. Everything is relative. You won’t notice bliss in the absence of pain. That is, if your everyday experience is relatively pain-free mentally and physically, the low levels of bliss from modest amounts of meditation will be less noticeable. Bliss is the realisation that you are not connected to the pain, that the pain is not yours. Ultimate bliss is the recognition that no matter how extreme the pain, it is not yours - you have transcended it by dissolving the self. Psychedelics allow you to witness this directly because they give you an overview effect of the suffering that is innate to being human, yet position you very much outside it. If you are not reaching this state then longer hours in meditation might help. For example, you could try sitting through the pain of 10 hours per day of motionless meditation without any back support, on a very basic cushion with very little padding. Switch things up a little Once seen it cannot be unseen. The feeling that you are completely outside the pain is bliss. You will laugh, you may even cry tears of joy. Eventually the pain itself will reveal that it was always illusory, merely an energetic blockage that was inextricable from your level of consciousness. Do this enough and eventually you merge with God. Your body is rebuilt to do the work of God alone, and whatever you thought you were dissolves to nothing.

The issue is not to silence the mind but to dissolve the barrier of the ego. the ego is supposed to be the thoughts, therefore we deduce that in the absence of thought there is no self. that's not true. it can be the not-self with thoughts and be the self with all its granite solidity in silence. when the self dissolves the mind takes on unlimited depth, and bliss occurs. this happens during meditation, but in my experience the ego has had to be completely vaporized several times before. this can happen with very serious and intensive meditation practices or with 5 meo. If you have not broken the granite block that is the ego, being silent for a minute will not help you much, only as a mental control practice -

Any unresolved trauma or emotional wounding that there is in you is going to hinder your ability to feel bliss, it's going to cover it up. So having a quiet mind isn't enough on its own, you have to be aware of what's going on inside you on a physical, energetic, and emotional level too, you have to develop bodily sensitivity so that those unresolved traumas and emotional wounds, which are stored in the body, can become conscious and gradually unravel. And that can take serious practise, it isn't likely to be something that's going to happen overnight; it can be disturbing and painful when those unresolved issues do start to bubble up in you, too, it really isn't for the faint-hearted and it requires an uncompromising devotion to the truth, no matter how painful and troubling. -
You can breathe your way to bliss quite effectively with a little practice. Not the kind of divine ecstasy that you would get on a psychedelic but still pretty sweet.

You would get more bliss from a morning run in the park than from meditating for two hours straight. Best is to combine both and practice walking meditation. -

Bliss doesn't come from an absence of thoughts. Bliss comes from higher states of consciousness in which Love and Oneness is recognized. -
There is plenty of bliss in spirituality. It happens in the absence of "me".

@Waken Love it. Very true. One of the wisest things I have read here. I admire the selflessness of your returning here to post this. I would probably refine some of what you’ve said. For me, it is about dissolving what you think of as yourself and surrendering to what you really are: God expressing itself through your form. We either stand in the way of God’s expression - wishing this or that to be different - or we surrender to it. If we experience enough suffering in our lives, then we might eventually come to the conclusion that “being in control” is and always was an illusion. It is when we relax into the flow of this awareness that “obstacles” - which seemed insurmountable at first - will fade away, and bliss can ultimately follow. Living life for oneself, or in fact thinking oneself to be real at all - is the primary cause of suffering. Being a vehicle for the expression of God’s perfection, and awareness of such, is the perfect freedom. -

@JuliusCaesar The usual roadmaps I see of spiritual progress are of Service to Others, you have any idea how one for Service to Self would go? Do you think the basis of the negative polarity is in feeling infinitely separate(same as unification, but this facet doesn't include any love)? What's your opinion on this: "For 3D beings to polarize negatively, the goal is to solidify the ego so much that it breaks and there is a recognition of absolute sovereignty/power/authority. In this, the phrase "I AM ME" or "I AM" has a different meaning than what it is on the positive polarity. Since such a being feels separate from everything, it has no sense of guilt, in fact it's seen as something to be transcended. Morality is realized to be relative and in this way one sees there is no reason to stop themselves from getting what they want. Impulses are not restrained unless out of fear of punishments. Although impulses could be a big part of their life, they are not controlled by them. One negatively polarizes by expanding their ego onto others and therewhich increasing power. The only way to do this is by making the other submit their free will, and their ego to you. In this way you expand your self, which is very different to how Service To Others does it, as there they merge with each other(dissolve away) instead. Fear is also seen as a major thing to transcend just like on Service To Others path. One who is consciously on the negative polarity path, can also transcend suffering by the recognition of absolute authority(God) and further negative polarization. It's not suffocating to be on this path as one can be in a constant state of bliss from one's own power if polarized enough. As the positive polarity finds bliss in otherselves(love), the negative polarity finds bliss in the self(power)." -
Eckhart Tolle is the man when it comes to handling negative thoughts. At least that was the case for me. His book 'The Power of Now' coupled with regular meditation practice for a couple of months changed my relationship to thoughts completely to where they're now mostly a positive asset or something that makes me chuckle at the vast weirdness of life. So firstly that could be something worth looking into if negative/intrusive thoughts are becoming tough to deal with. Secondly, weed is an amazing and misunderstood psychedelic. I would never have gone down my current path without it and I'm now very thankful for that, it gave me a lot of insight into myself and helped me explore and connect better with my feelings But this was not always the case for me, my journey with weed has been like an adventurous relationship, it's had its ups and downs. I had quite a few moments where what weed made me discover made me hate weed and regret doing it in the first place. Ignorance is bliss, or so it seems, the stuff weed shows you can bring up negative stuff first. I think ultimately the most valuable insights from weed aren't always so pleasent. But the same could be said for other psychedelics as well. It's just that people are quicker to justify/recontexualize/integrate 'bad trips' on other psychedelics than the negative stuff brought up from weed use. Ultimately I think this experience could end up helping you develop into a more loving being. Both for yourself and others. It could help you improve your relationships with others. I always like hearing of others insights from weed because imo it's so misunderstood but profound. I hope this experience will turn out for you like it usually did for me, where you first get an uncomfortable insight that is but a seed for the beautiful transformation that is to come, if you're open to it it's possible.

Bliss is just a passing stage in buddhism. Buddha says don't cling even to that. Even that is suffering. Go beyond everything. Even heaven ? -

Shonyata is not bliss. It's nothingness. Beyond all qualities. There're no qualities in shoonya. Bliss is heaven. Shoonya is beyond heaven. Primordial space. The core of existence. No taste, no smell, no touch, no feeling, no bliss, no nothing. Also i didn't understand your argument why eliminating desires is considered nihilism. -
Someone here replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Buddha was not a nihilist in the western sense of the word. However in terms of spirituality, his philosophy comes under nihilism. Let me explain: The western nihilism says that life is meaningless because ultimately everyone has to die and no matter how much we try we won’t get anything superior out of our lives. It also rejects all religious principles as well as moral principles. Buddhism believes that the whole problem of suffering is due to our desires and thus in order to eliminate sufferings we have to take care of desires. This, in fact, is also what vedas say or what koran and bible says. what differs is the solution provided by different philosophies. Buddhism says that in order to end the sufferings (and thus become blissful) one has to end the desires. It says that when one stops all the material desires then one becomes free and can experience sunyata(void) . the all pervading bliss . -

@Someone here i don't think buddha was a pessimist. My theory is that it takes enourmous wisdom to understand why nirvana is biggest liberation. And it's very hard to understand why. He sayed even heaven is suffering. Even realms of heaven of eternal ecstacy is suffering. What kind of crazy dude would say that? What kind of wisdom does it take to give up bliss and extacy for nothingness? Crazy much wisdom it takes i believe. -
I have this fond childhood/teenage memory where I concentrated so hard during a chess game that it felt like my brain would shake out of my head. It was pure bliss after I won. I never concentrated so hard ever again in my life.

This anime is amazing for enlightenment references. During my retreat I could feel a knot in my back in the same place as this scene. And when I had my peak experience a few years ago on LSD, it felt like I was in the avatar state. Pure bliss and energy. -

God is Both form and formless. Since God is unlimited, He cannot be limited to being either formless or having a form. Since God is everything, He must possess both form and formlessness. God is unlimited, and His form, consisting of eternity, knowledge and bliss, is also unlimited. Usually form is defined by limitations in space, so an unlimited form is inconceivable to us. It would be the same as formless. Still, for the simple reason that one cannot love the impersonal, unlimited feature of God. One can only love a person. Therefore we say that God is both the formed world and impersonal formless at the same time . You can't escape this problem. You can't lean towards one or another (form or formless). It's both . -

Agreed. But it's always possible not just when you trip. Telepathy is a very broad and nuanced topic. There are many levels to it. Everyone is using telepathy even if they don't know. For example: People like getting love based attention that is free from agenda. So unconsciously people will tap into to the collective consciousness and know when their friends are in a needy state or in a giving, loving happy state and like this they know which friends to call or which friends to make plans with. I'm sure most of you have experienced this that if you feel very in bliss all of a sudden a bunch of people text you and when you are depressed people don't text you for days. In my experience you can establish telepathic connections when you make heart based connections with other people. Like this you will always know how they're feeling and you can also get input to what is going on in their lifes at any given moment. I wouldnt waste my time with that tho. Also you can do transmission of consciousness and raise their vibration if you want no matter how far you are apart from them. Again wouldnt recommend doing that too much as it is a bit pointless. People are where they are and need to experience what they experience. You can also establish a connection with your future self. Or with anyone you want basically. There you have to be very purified because when you still operate a lot from the ego it can always distort the information. You can also make a connection to Leo which is quite beautiful and funny also. He still experiences guilt jiji. Also with telepathy no one can lie to you regarding matters of the heart. Complete strangers can talk to you and you just know they're lying. Also your worldview is not anymore created by rationality anymore as it is for a lot of the people here on the forum. Things others read hundreds of books for to then allow their brain to try it because rationally their map of reality allows it with telepathy you just know these things. Telepathy comes with knowing through being. -
I believe that at this point, there is not a mistake in the world that I have not yet committed. I have done something of everything, at the very least. Leo will soon publish a video on the biggest traps within self-help and spirituality. I'm already sure I've fallen into most of what he's going to say, even though self-help and spirituality are only a part of my life/path. I have made mistakes in all other areas as well. And I've learned so much. I've learned the easy way, as well as the hard way, school of hard knocks. My parents gave me an outdated map. I've created a new, more modern, and more accurate one. From scratch, and from personal experience, without a teacher or a mentor. Suffering is the greatest teacher, and bliss is suffering's sugar wife that I've fucked so ruthlessly, so relentlessly. I've cucked the hell out of suffering. And now, we're even. Naturally, I should be the prince of this world, it's in my DNA. But it looks like God has other plans. We'll see who's going to win in the end, and how many of his angels I will fuck, too.

1. Spirituality is about enhancing life. If you master meditation you no longer will suffer mentally as suffering is caused by attachment to thoughts. Shut off the mind, no longer have to deal with suffering your perspective. This post you just made...is an example of the character you think you are complaining that they don't like Spirituality. The character wants a reward now, it also wants to be different and superior. 2. Another thing about Spirituality. If you master meditation and purify your body, then you will release your kundalini, and will be in a blissful state. So you will walk around in Bliss that you can control whenever you want too. What you thought those monks were just meditating for no reason? Hah!! They did all that meditation so they can control their mind and become unlimited, and so they can feel good walking around in life because they can feel bliss at a whim. But again...if you don't want to do Spirituality don't!!! Go enjoy materialism, go suffer mentally, when you are ready for Spirituality you'll do it. Maybe in some other life time or something. P.S. Your current life sets up your next life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-43EJSiNECg&ab_channel=MasculineFrame -
I have been engaging in spiritual teachings and practices. But questions would run through my head in my daily life now as I seek answers based on readings and videos. Is spiritual pursuit and enlightenment from thousands of years ago until now just a coping mechanism because we are still rather undeveloped? Because survival was so harsh and brutal (and still is) that some (monks, yogis, etc.) would need to forego it all and meditate until we "trick our brains" into thinking that we don't want anything anymore? And that there is "God's Love" altogether? As the world becomes more scientifically advanced, quality of life increases, and we become so good at survival, will we look back at ourselves as a species and think that spirituality was all just a cope for a time when we just weren't smart enough in the material world? Let's say humanity actualizes its potential in the physical world. We are rocketing from one planet to the next. We have infinite resources. Nobody is poor or struggling. No wars or poverty. Our bodies and minds merge perfectly with technology (the singularity). Physical immortality and perfection. We can get everything we want at a whim. How would that satisfaction compare to "enlightenment"? Because I remember when a few years ago, I had some money and backpacked three exotic countries in 4 months straight, riding a motorbike, climbing volcanoes, scuba diving, meeting beautiful people of different cultures. I was very happy. Conditionally happy, but I felt bliss from beginning to end for the most part. So if we can multiply that ability to the infinite times, what's the point of traditional "enlightenment?" There's this war in my mind between human/scientific advancement and spirituality. I'm looking for answers, but in the end, I know there's just one ultimate Truth.
