Don't overanalyze things. There are 3 things that make you more attractive to women: Game, looks, and money. 
Improve at any or all of those and you become more attractive to women. You have known this since Middle School.

Yes, but the man needs to have his sexual needs met. In other words you can have a bunch of platonic female friends as long as you got at least one girl who you're sleeping with and happy with. But if you are starved for sex you can't just have female friends because you will start acting too weird and needy with them and ruin the friendships.
So start by getting yourself laid. Then you can build up a circle of platonic female friends if you want. And it would be a good idea to do so because they can introduce you to more hot girls.

Only mature men and women can be friends. If one of them is immature it will eventually lead to problems. That's why, usually, you see a distinct divide between boys and girls in high school. In university it's a little less. And if everything went well and both the man and the woman have matured they can work, and be friends, as equals when they are adults. 
Of course some people never grow up, even when they reached the adult age. So things like jealousy, power games, lust and possesiveness come into play and destroy the possible friendship.

Girls are almost never alone. You must approach them in groups. You must even approach if she is with boyfriend or husband.

Be a fucking man. But be socially calibrated and non-creepy. This was all said in a cool and calibrated way.
I am not saying you noobs should go that far. But if you think you can't go that far with a girl all into it, you don't understand girls. I am telling you this so you understand what extremes are possible and that you are nowhere near the edge.
On the other hand, the fear in your eyes alone is enough to creep a girl out. It's not what you say but how you say it.

You should socialize just to push your comfort zone and gain more life experience but in the end nothing is gonna beat the spiritual pleasure of pure metaphysical understanding. So if you can be happy solo, that's actually a great gift.
But don't become a recluse. Gain some socialization and dating experience while you are young. It can be fun.
In the end you will find the highest joy is found alone, not with others. Don't let others gaslight you about that.

If you don't want to socialize, don't socialize. It's that simple. 
The simplest way to fix your social life is to not worry about it until you start feeling lonely. Then, you will start to know the kind of social-life and community-life that you want and you will have that as your objective, socially. This will help you sort through the petty bullshit and find people who you resonate with. My point is that once you get to this point, you won't get lost in the petty bullshit of socialization anymore.

Oh, we know

When I say "genetics" I am not really making any special appeals to science. All I mean is, the stuff about who you are which cannot be changed by any amount of effort. For example, the fact that you have a human body and not a kangaroo body is a function of genetics. And there is nothing you can do to change that, no matter how much spiritual bullshit you consume.
You don't need to be a scientist or a geneticist to make the simple observation that every living organism has a certain foundation for its being which it cannot change and must live with, which define that organism's basic capacities, strengths, and weaknesses.

Biggest pet peeve: humans.
