I could barely buy the book list after being on my wishlist for 6 years. For some reason I never had money left in my pockets at the end of the month to be able to buy the book list without taking money away from groceries. 

Let alone flying to Vegas. I'd have to sell my house just to afford a plane ticket and a visa, + costs for food and hotels while staying in Vegas. 

If I had money I'd join you guys just to befriend you IRL, because here I have 0 friends and I feel very lonely. 

But I'd never take psychedelics. I'm totally against them. I believe that psychedelics are  a corruption element on my ability to have accurate sense making of reality.

I live by the principle that you can only have an accurate, truthful worldview and sense making of reality by being 101% sober. 

In my eyes there is no way of making accurate sense of the world and reality while you are high on psychedelics. To me psychedelics are like pouring gasoline on the fire that is self deception. 

It is just my take, don't take this personally, do as many psychedelics you want. But I'll never try them. I'm all or nothing. I'm either doing spirituality the most hard core possible in a sober manner, or not at all.

I've only gotten too sober and never had a casual or fun experience on them.

I couldn't care less about making it fun.

@Daniel Balan Drugs cannot produce direct consciousness or lead to enlightenment, so you'd take your breakthroughs as simply "experiences" that might inform you of something or open your mind in some way, but aren't "true."

Sure, but not just me. So are Ramana, Ralston, Adi Da, Meher Baba, and Ken Wilber - for a reason. The destruction of the universe would still be irrelevant when it comes to enlightenment. So why would changing the chemicals in your brain be any different?

I'm afraid buying into this belief is just a mistake born of having had moving experiences and dramatically unusual changes of state. No state is direct consciousness, it is only a state, no matter how grand or exciting or mind blowing it is. Altering the brain can't produce enlightenment - what it does is change its activity. In essence, it's not much different from getting drunk, hitting your head on the bathroom counter, or falling in love - they're experiences. This is not enlightenment no matter how much people want it to be.

This is of serious interest. I understand you’re just gauging the interest and demand at present. Many of us here maybe the majority are from quite some distance away. So obviously much more info would be necessary before committing to making the journey from the UK for the likes of myself and no doubt further for many others. Before I would need to officially commit personally I’d need a good 6 months notice to the retreat date of the particular retreat I was to attend. For the likes of myself I’d have to probably incorporate it into the middle of a 2 week trip or something of the likes. I’ve been to the US a few times already Boston and Miami so that’s not really an issue, but vegas is almost double those journey’s from here. No doubt you’re aware of these sorts of things and are maybe only in the early stages of considering doing these types of things. But yea it’s certainly of great interest to me
