my stage yellow understanding of this, Dr. Ian Stevenson's work! he has spent his entire life scientifically documenting those who claimed past lives. and many near death experiences (NDE) reveal something about this model. and there are new-agey folks who make a living by reading past lives of people! coming on to spirituality, even Leo though not suggested directly, alludes to the past lives model in many videos. Osho and Sadhguru frankly claims this is to be the case! Eckhart Tolle also hints on reincarnation. There's Buddhist model of rebirth and karma .it is very similar to reincarnation in Hinduism and ,Jainism. Sikhism also adopts the past lives model .In Jewish mysticism, the concept of reincarnation appears on kabbalah. there is also historical evidence which says that even Jesus taught reincarnation ,whereas these teachings were banned and bibles rewritten later on. maybe , these were independent findings. it is very possible that all the masters of religions came to the same conclusions after their own findings! even after all those evidence, yess it will still be hearsay as long as we have it in our direct experience! -

No reincarnation. Just incarnation. Check it - a baby was just born, guess who the baby is? It's us, suckaaaa. -

All that "reincarnation" means is change of form after (supposed) death. That's it. So either there will be a change of this apparent form at some point, or there won't. What do you think? (And if your answer is that future, change and form are nothing but mental concepts, you get an extra cookie for being a good nondual boyscout. ) -

At the most basic level, if a dream popped up once, why couldn't it happen again? I mean seriously... What is more likely, the 0.00000000(to infinity)1% chance that you managed to spring into existence and it's a one and done deal, or that the same mechanism where you spontaneously appeared could happen again? There's also apparently objective data giving authority to the idea of reincarnation - children recalling specific details of past lives, or how their last life ended and the researchers being able to verify that information. Overall, my thinking is why wouldn't it happen again if it already happened once? At a higher level, there is no reincarnation. The flow of experience just flows. To suggest there was ever a "life" that was "incarnated" to begin with is a misperception of perception. Therefore, when the physical body dies, this says nothing about the flow of experience already present and the fact that this flow of experience is utterly independent of the physical body. Nothing actually dies, just changes. -

soooo, why is he still not addressing the stuff in Buddhism like karma and reincarnation the way Buddha and Hindu sages did. he seems to be offering slight hints at this but still keeps away from going to details..?any reasons why ? -

Ye, the Difference is though, Hinduism celebrates life , but Buddha wanted to wake up from the cycle of reincarnation once and for all. -

@RMQualtrough i define death as a point of no return. If they came back, were they really dead? I am not saying there is reincarnation, but your asuming the universe is a liniar mechanism? For all we know you might just be god imagining the whole universe and i am just you playing wordgames with yourself on a forum you imagined -
I had some insights and experiences recently around spirits, reincarnation, plant medicine and the Buddhist wheel - so that would make me new to Buddhism. I am not looking for enlightenment, I find the other stuff more interesting. If I get it, I get it, if I don't in this life, I am okay with that. But what I want to know, is when communicating with someone, what is a good way to determine how far we each have gotten? I don't like the idea of talking like I know more than I do to someone; what is a good measurement? Surely there must be something. I'm more into shamanism, so, for me, it won't be enlightenment or present awareness that I would be adept at, but traversing spiritual planes of existence I can do very well; albeit, always room for improvement. I'm at the point where I know more than I thought about myself, but certainly not much, still, when compared to how much there is to understand about reality. So now I have no idea; I over-humbled myself and don't want to over-do what I "think" I know, either, as that's a recipe for not learning anything new. Thanks! I hope I worded this alright.

Honestly, no one really knows anything until they’re done. And that’s only if one is absolutely laser focused on enlightenment. It’s all a dream until then. I wouldn’t say that if it had any chance of waking anyone up, because I do not prefer that anyone does, and you’ll probably hear it at some point here anyway. There are all sorts of other non-enlightenment paths though, all disguised as enlightenment. If it aims to help you, it’s got nothing at all to do with enlightenment. Enlightenment progress: how intolerably inauthentic you feel, as you’re increasingly seeing there’s no true self. Consciousness progress: how fulfilled your unceasing activity is. I guess? ? Oh and by fear of death I really mean fear of non-being. Not fear of body death — you can simply patch that with a little faith in reincarnation or a deep trust in a loving god plus a genuine desire to do good. Fear of non-being is the true test and it’s insurmountable by anything, other than facing fear, all fear, head-on. You can love everyone and everything to death and it will barely even put a dent in this fear — in fact it might not even show its face because you’ll be hiding it at your deepest core to keep from even encountering it. If you ever do awaken, if you remember this, you’ll see why fear of non-being (no-self) was always the big daddy of all fear. Other fears basically serve to distract from this fear — that’s how pervasive it is. And no one knows it. That’s how deeply it is hidden away, and for good reason. -

My limited experiences have pointed towards humans having destinies, or pre-programmed stories, that can sometimes deviate. When I do, I experience it as archetypes that move through and influence the human system, through the subconscious via words and stories. Some archetypes are very small and don't influence much, and some are aeonic in size and "gravity" - such as wetiko; culture and the illusion of fear. I feel it as different stories playing out in the "Other" space, like the image below, or like a machine that creates one action after another after another in order to maximize the ability to witness itself in the physical world. To have influence. My first awakening was spontaneous and I was not spiritual and I was told this: that people are chosen to wake up before birth, there is a certain process about it that I don't understand, but I know reincarnation, the wheel of life, archetypes play a role. Some people never wake up, they have to take another ride a few times to get it. Love is the answer to all of it; destiny, everything. It is protection, solution, the teaching and destiny. When I let go, it feels like another consciousness comes in, and sometimes asks to take the wheel. Sometimes it is the higher self, or sometimes an archetype that is playing out, or sometimes a being with a message. When this happens, I can channel it through my artwork or writing. ^ This talks about it. "We stay off the grid, hide between the lines, to them we are only shadows until we meet eventually." -

If there is no actual separate soul, then anything that involves it is a dream. There aren't any limits to what can be imagined to happen in a dream. Therefore, reincarnation can be real while not being absolutely true. -

But me as God then, will I ever have an existence in a corporeal from in which I will have total control over reality? Or am I eternally doomed to reincarnation into different corporeal forms without having the ability to control reality? Like for example to decide that there won't be aging, illnes etc.? -

Even if there is a sort of reincarnation, I take it you probably don’t remember your previous life, right? If that’s the case, then you probably won’t remember this one — i.e. it will be like you never existed, if you do reincarnate, though in that case of course “you” reincarnating is a bit nonsensical. -

There are levels of enlightenment. Google Jan esmann. But there's a limit which we can surpass on the astral plane once we finish our reincarnation circle on the physical plane. Source: the Michael Teachings and the wingmakers website. -
@KatiesKarma hayyyy katie!!! many claim soooo... even leo shared his thought on this where he speculated it is possible for you to have some karmic repercussions due to ur hindering of evolution of consciousness. this karma is not at all a judgement but rather a self imposed reaction to ur life. anyways , although even leo buys into past life and reincarnation model, it is also possible this is also a fallacy... after all, since many spiritual traditions claim this independently, we have to take in to account that there is some truth to them even if without direct experience rather than being a false skeptic..sooo, LOVE UR LIFE...IT'S THE GREATEST GIFT U HAVE!

@mandyjw @SQAAD @Breakingthewall @Tim R @The Lucid Dreamer @JosephKnecht @OneHandClap @Rilles @Judy2 But constantly being reborn until you become pure Godlike seems like it's not from the highest good/love. If you tell me that If I don't do good things or if I don't do this or that then I'll be reborn as a lesser being or go to a hellish realm that literally just installs fear as a motivator to be better. Then you would only be a good person or do good thing "so you don't go to hell" / out of fear? --- That's fucked, imo. I hope that things are so that you get a choice each lifetime if you wanna continue, something doesn't quite ring true in my heart about this whole worse reincarnation thing / hell realms if you do bad things. My inkling (still not verified yet) is that we simply unite into one infinity as love forever eternally, then we get bored of infinity and be a being again. Play a new character, change the character's clothes, appearance, give it wings whatever the fuck. But Idk still, unless we have a direct experience of a final human physical death WE CAN'T KNOW. All of us here are still writing on a forum so non of us know, maybe it'll be a nice surprise when it's our time. Yes, some people have had NDE's and have died (I don't discount that) however non of us that are still breathing have had the "FINAL" physical death. Yes Ego death is basically the same thing,,,, BUTTT not quite, not physically and permanently - you have to actually die and stay dead to truly know LOL. Let's find out when we find out and live by love in the meantime. -

@Tim R Basically Karma. I think every action has a consequence. There is no free ride. I think that some characteristics of the soul can survive death into the next reincarnation. -

@SelfHelpGuy nice examples ? I think if some people can remeber what they did yesterday, and some people can remember what they did in the previous lifetime, there is not much difference. Well I don't have a full understanding on this but what buddha or Jesus would say is that ego doesn't die after death. It takes another form. It could take an eartly body, or some other body, or go to heavenly realm or to hell. Where you go depends on how much evolution of the soul has been made here on earth. I don't even myself understand it fully so... but ego survives bodily death according to almost all if not 100% of all religions and spiritual traditions in the world even in advaita studies nobody denies reincarnation. Only "expert nondualists" on this forum have funny ways of disproving everything that they don’t like. ? I think reincarnation is like taking all the data and all the softwares from one computer and uploading it to another computer. If you want ego death, all data has to be obliterated through spiritual practice or antivirus self deleting program killing a computer won't kill the data inside it. When a body dies, I think the personality and the karmic substance and all data of the ego can float around in the energy body in the space or take another womb. The personality and the karmic substance is recorded in the energy body. This energy that carries the information and data of the personality is called the soul. The soul's energy and universe's energy is ultimately the same but it is being seperated by the ego and karmic substance. Like a bubble in the air. Air inside the bubble and air outside the bubble is the same air but a bubble is formed becouce of the ego mass around the energy and appareat seperation of individual soul happens. Dissolving the bubble or the karmic structure makes the bubble dissapear and the soul energy reunites with the cosmos energy. Aka, mahasamadhi. If you dissolve the ego bubble fully, the energy that carries the person's data will no longer be entrapped by the personality and just unites with infinity. Like the bubble bursting and air joining the cosmos. -

Nobody is saying that reincarnation is not a phenomenon than God can dream up. It's just confusing and assumes there is ultimately a soul somewhere separated from God. Which leads to beliefs that you can't join God (realize that you're God) unless you've reincarnated yourself x number of times. And of course, if this is the case, completely close the possibility to realize that you're God right now. -

Hmmmm, sleep is very much like death. If I fully believed my body was dying then I could see reincarnation as a possibility. I know there's no me, but the illusive dream characters POV could go through a dream of dying. I wouldn't want to fully write off reincarnation or death, honestly who knows? It's the great unknown what happens to all the characters and how the dream may change. -
Salvijus replied to SelfHelpGuy's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
It's really unfair to use nondual phylosophy to dismiss reincarnation. Reincarnation is like going to sleep and waking up in the morning again. Going to sleep would be equivalent to death, and waking up in the morning would be equivalent to entering a new womb. Just because everything is one and there is no seperate self doesn't disprove the fact that there is such a thing as sleep and waking up in the morning. I'm not saying reincarnation is real or unreal. I'm saying nonduality is really a poor way of disproving reincarnation. Nonduality has nothing to do with this subject at all. Nonduality only points to the absolute truth there is no such thing as death. Because consciouness can't die and was never born. But consciouness also can’t fall asleep and can't wake up. And so? Does that mean sleep doesn't exist? A hardcore nondualist would say sleep doesn't exist because there is no self to fall asleep or to wake up (or smth like that). But from a normal human relative perspective sleep and waking up is very much real phenomena we all experience every day. To use nondual phylosophy to dismiss everything is really unfair. You can say there's no such thing as eating because consciouness doesn't have a stomach. And there is no self so who is eating? You can basicly prove any kind of bullshit with this nondual phylosophy. Nondual phylosophy has it's place and is beautiful but it should not be used in every area of life. Even ramana maharshi the god of advaita and nonduality says there is reincarnation... -

You can go to infinite love right now because that's what God is, and you're God (the ego doesn't need to die, you can just realize what it is from God pov). Those 100 lives thing, it's just an another dream inside God's mind, you can go straight to God (you). Believing into those reincarnation things only limit you.
