So you mean to tell me that this war is simply because Putin fears that Ukraine will join NATO. So he wants to do it before it joins NATO.

Wtf?

Is there a real threat to Russia as a country if Ukraine joins NATO?

Or is this silly bullshit political Psychopath games of Putin to keep his control going on forever and his paranoia over losing power?

NATO has attacked countries while unprovoked.

  • Yugoslavia
  • Iraq
  • Syria
  • Libya

Countries with NATO bases on their borders have to put up with a lot, Iran for example has an issue with American drones flying over their border.

Being surrounded by NATO as well leaves the possibility for economic exploitation and embargos.

Of course the West would think Putin is crazy and "attacked for no reason". Do you really think someone would invade for no reason at all?

If people would not be so attached to their national identity, they would see why Russia is pissed. NATO has been playing with fire in a suble and nice way for a long time by expanding. They have eventually come to Russia's door (Ukraine).

If the leaders in Kremlin would just be decent normal humans, then they wouldn't mind to even be surrounded by NATO (which they currently aren't, not even close).

Like a decent normal person doesn't mind the police. But criminals do mind the police.

There are plenty of countries which doesn't mind being surrounded by NATO. How come?

NATO isn't a anti-Russia alliance. It's a alliance which defends itself against any military threats. And Russia has chosen to be a threat. And Russia could stop doing that. Russia is offensive and aggressive, and evil. And they could of course stop being that if they would choose to.

This is all on Kremlin.

Don't be a "useful idiot" for Kremlin. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Useful_idiot

No there isn't.

It's the latter.

Why am I supposed to believe you?

Who knows what NATO's intentions really were with countries like that!

This has to be some cooked up shit.

The truth is that they have been humanitarian operations, to protect civilians, stop genocide, and stop terrorism.

And NATO did not go into Iraq. Just because some countries which happened to be members of NATO, went into Iraq, does not mean that NATO went into Iraq.

And NATO does missions which has UN mandate.

"NATO is an active and leading contributor to peace and security on the international stage. It promotes democratic values and is committed to the peaceful resolution of disputes. However, if diplomatic efforts fail, it has the military capacity to undertake crisis management operations alone or in cooperation with other countries and international organisations."

https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natolive/topics_52060.htm

"NATO and the United Nations (UN) share a commitment to maintaining international peace and security. The two organisations have been cooperating in this area since the early 1990s, in support of peace-support and crisis-management operations. The complexity of today’s security challenges has required a broader dialogue between NATO and the UN. This has led to reinforced cooperation and liaison arrangements between the staff of the two organisations, as well as UN specialised agencies."

Good job. That's the truth.

So I support Ukraine here. Russia needs to back off.

I think the only threat is to their pride, but I would say that for the Russians that is very important

No immoral move has ever gone unpunished in human history. Russia will regret this.

Morality is more valuable than pride.

That's not true analogy. Someone here mention, I forgot who, that even if someone put a gun to your head and said they won't shoot, that won't help you feel at ease at all. The same with this Ukraine/Russia situation.

If you actually believe that, without joking, I don't even have any comment to write. I am too stunned to commnet lol.
Keep believeing what you're being sold and ignore all the facts that say otherwise.

Life certainly seems much better when we live in a fantasy.

NATO is a purely antagonist organization that deserves to be abolished.

Abolishing NATO would be a bit like abolishing government.

Interesting short not long read about that very topic, that the two are not mutually exclusive and irreconcilable, but rather from what perspective and standpoint one chooses to interpret them and apply them.

Putin is an insine one though, right? Let's forget NATO's bombing of Syria, libya, Yugoslavia... lol

I just feel bad for the people of Ukraine. They literally don't have anything to do with what their sick politicians decide to do and they die needlessly. Prayers to them.
