I don’t like my last name

Would it be unauthentic of me to legally change it? Would that be me being afraid to be myself? I’d like to have a more marketable name for my business.

It's probably more authentic to change your name since that's what you actually want. It would be unauthentic to keep your name since you don't want it. At least that's what I think.

Being authentic is about what you want.

If its Einstein, change it. If its OnAcid, you must keep it.

Can you use a pen name of some sort for the business and keep your real name? Or use an alternate, more generic name for the business? Even changing your name when you're a woman and get married is a huge pain the ass and there are extra steps if you are doing it for another reason other than marriage.

@Einsteinonacid  There might be a lot of pain attached to your last name, so make sure you discard that also with the name, not just the external stuff.
