Mr Bill Gates - conscious stage green philanthropist OR dangerous, shady elitist?

231 posts in this topic

I've already posted about the current events and maybe I should just shut up. But Bill Gates has been on my mind a lot lately and my view of this incredibly wealthy man is starting to change or, at least, be uncertain.

I've seen him being interviewed on huge media platforms as an authority on the current health crisis (he's no doctor for sure) and I've seen people incredibly divided:  some think he has an incredibly dangerous agenda, some believe he's doing his best for everyone's health.

Every time the World Health Organization is mentioned you can't help but think about him being the 2nd biggest funder after US government and how incredibly influential he is in that position.

Why do we give him such power and authority?  Why does he have the right to decide for hundreds of millions of children in africa and asia ?   Why do we rely on him to create the vaccine for covid19?

Is it up to a private us citizen to fund a drug for billions of people ? While recently saying "The world can only go back to normal once we (I) make this vaccine and give it out to all 7 billion people" or "I'll write the checks immediately, government funding takes too long" ?

What's his relationship with Big Pharma?

I don't want to get into conspiracy but let's just think about whether this is something we should accept and consider normal or whether this man has no right to influence global health and policy in such a massive way.

Millions of people are now opposing him and I think Robert Kennedy Jr is now suing him.  He seems scared of criticism and social media platforms banning content speaking negatively about him.

Could he be a greedy psycopath in bed with Big Pharma or a power-hungry control freak disguised as spiral dynamics stage green philanthropist?

Google tells me his current estimated net worth is $104.1 billion. An unimaginable figure. Just the little 1 after the decimal point is a massive $100 million.

Enormous power over our society, our politics and health.

Is there a reason to assume he might desire more wealth? It's hard to imagine how that would be possible (even though Jeff Bezos proves this wrong).
But it's not hard to imagine him desiring even more power and influence. Or maybe trying to make the World fit his particular agenda or elitist mental model.

I don't know.

Opinions?

He's extremely shady, another billionaire hiding behind "philanthropy". I am not well researched on his rise to wealth and power over the years but from what I have looked into a plethora of shady things were done to get where he is.

To me, he clearly has an agenda and its not because he genuinely cares about peoples health, that is such a sham. I could go on about vaccines, let me drop a video about one of the main doctors questioning this Covid hysteria to give a deep dive into the true nature of vaccines:

@TrynaBeTurquoise I just finished watching the great video you posted. It reinforced my belief that history books will remember vaccines as the shadiest, greediest scam ever.

BUT, even if we avoid the vaccine problem and stick to the mainstream way of thinking, why would anyone trust a non-doctor, multibillionaire to be an authority during a pandemic and basically organize and fund the "cure" for the entire planet?

No one with some common sense would, no matter their belief on vaccines.

This man has been waiting for this moment for a looong time and he's trying to fool us.

But #weainthavingit

So glad you took the time to watch it, it is such great information!

its quiet interesting how Leo is awfully quiet about this. I think its irresponsible because he is one of our most conscious leaders & his voice would be powerful.

Lol

Look at your paranoia.

If Bill Gates wanted to be a power-hungry psychopath, he could easily do so given his resources, and his work and influence would look very different. He could easily be a tyrant or a James Bond villian.

But here is a guy who devoted the remainder of his life to helping mankind, and you call him a psychopath. That's like spitting in God's face.

You can question the capitalist political system which under-taxes billionaires, but when a billionaire acts for the benefit of powerless people, don't bite his hand. People are not bad for being billionaires. It's how they use their money and power after they get it that matters.

Bill Gates warned about coronavirus some years ago. While you were at home watching Netflix and jerking off, he was working hard to make sure your mom doesn't die of a pandemic. Yet he is the psychopath. Lol

If Bill Gates wanted to, he could have supermodels riding his dick 365 days of the year and feeding him grapes. Yet he works every day to help under-developed countries fight diseases. Think about that.

Its quite evident besides the understanding of consciousness he claims to have, and I am not refuting that, he has his own beliefs and dogma about whats happening in the world and has his blind spots, just like all of us.

Like in his video "I am totally omniscient of everything happening in the universe" 3 seconds later "Who is at my door"?

Before I get a rebuttal of "thats not what total omniscience means" I already understand that, but he has no glass ball of understanding as to whats really going on behind the scenes. He simply just has an opinion about it.

Ive been thinking about this a lot recently as well and theories are everywhere, but i agree with Leo.

If a multi-billionaire say it wasnt Bill Gates, got into philanthropy and tried to donate billions to worthwhile causes i suspect they would get the same treatment as Gates is getting now. No one was really saying anything about him before at least not to this extent, was he not evil before? Were you ok with his actions previously when it was just about making money for himself? Or is it specifically because hes trying to help and you just dont trust him?

If i was Bill Gates and i wanted to get more power and wealth the one thing i wouldnt do is give away billions to poor countries, i would set up so many shady businesses specifically designed to control you, you wouldnt even know about them let alone make conspiracy theories. Its funny how its always the most obvious guy, do you attack or even know who the boss of payday loan companies is? Do you know who runs shady accountant firms and banks who take billions in tax every year? What about the privatised prison complex who essentially run legal slavery, any complaints about them?

Its crazy the things that people focus on where the evidence is minimal but the things right in your face that have rock solid evidence no one bats an eyelid

He acts like he cares. He has valid points like diseases need to be controlled or eradicated.

But there is a huge reminder. His father was involved in Planned Parenthood.

Bill Gates has been a huge fan of depopulation. I understand that he thinks that the world cannot handle a huge population.

But the reason why Bill Gates wants women to be educated is not because he wants people to be aware and happy but because he wants the population to be lowered.

He knows that financial dependency in poor countries is the main reason for a huge population so he wants the women to be independent for that purpose.

He is like a scientist in a laboratory looking for ways to depopulate the globe but he put a philanthropic spin on his solution and offered it as a deed of charity to the masses.

It basically means he doesn't care if people die. To him it appears as a success of his laboratory experiments.

He doesn't believe in this stuff, period. I wouldn't look to figures such as Leo to validate your thoughts.

You are a free thinker and a truth seeker. Radically open minded. You don't need Leo's validation.

I think Leo himself would agree to this even though he thinks these topics are silly.

Quite astonishing that you actually believe this nonsense. This just reeks of projection.

exactly.

@Consept I feel the trap is looking for stories to believe (reactionary thinker, unwilling to entertain new ideas conflicting with one's beliefs/aka irrational) rather than gathering info from various sources and diving into new perspectives. If something seems irrational then perhaps it isn't understood well enough to be written off

@DivineSoda I wasn't looking for him to validate my thoughts. He could be completely opposed to my viewpoint and I would still respect his voice. I was just mentioning because it seemed like he was actively avoiding having these conversation which I thought was irresponsible.

That can be the case sometimes but sometimes it can be group think or looking for scape goats. How do we pick and choose though because all the worlds problems are not because of Gates. The bigger question is though let's say you were in Bill Gates shoes, what is the best course of action if you wanted help others and had 100 billion in the bank?

The simple answer without all the semantics and arguing about who is who, what they've done, and what their intentions are;

People are paranoid and would rather point fingers and call other each other devils instead of talking responsibility for improving themselves in the world.

People can think whatever they want about Bill Gates.

Any judgement they make doesn't matter, they should only be focused on what THEY can be doing to help the crisis.

He's been enormously rich most of his life. He doesn't give a shit what some 20 year olds on the internet think he should do with his money.

Bill Gates may have good intentions, but maybe his actions are not right. It's not everyone who wants vaccines, since they may cause health problems. Anyway, mainstream people = mainstream science = mainstream vaccines policies = shaming antivaxxs.

From my own life experience, I don't trust Big Pharma (despite there are good intentioned people there), but fuck that, people get what they think they deserve. The problem just happens when they want to enforce it on others, what I call tyranny.

I get what you're saying and I don't disagree... I like Bill.. But... Couldn't he legit just wake up one day and wipe away student loan debt with his money? It's just kinda hard for me to swallow how people hoard money like that.

But it's an systemic issue for sure. Probably human nature to hoard riches I guess.

...But what if the opposite is true?

Being rich means nothing. There's a huge wealth disparity in the world. There are tons of people who work very hard and get paid peanuts. It's all about demand and supply. People have become rich by selling drugs too.

Bill Gates got rich because computers were in big demand that time. He capitalized on public demand like any greedy opportunistic carpet seller or car salesman. Nothing charismatic about it.

And he doesn't give a shit about 20 year olds on the internet. Don't be so dismissive of people. People have power. The same people can create groups and order petitions against him if enough people group together. So it's not to be easily dismissed.

If he doesn't care about public opinions about him, people shouldn't need to care about what comes out of his mouth.

I understand that he may (or may not) have good intentions behind his theories and actions. But being rich does not exclude him from public scrutiny.

Also he can't play God. He can only suggest models for the world but cannot impose or enforce them with his billions.

People 's voices will always be stronger than any amount of wealth in the world.
