What's wrong with nofap?

21 posts in this topic

I've seen some posts about nofap having tons of benefits and a few that refute these to just placebo. What are your thoughts on what's really going on with nofap? Because some really have experienced tremendous results with nofap and others haven't.

I practice nofap to 7 days because on the 7th day theres a testosterone peak and then goes back to normal. Ive tried 2-3 weeks nofap but the amount of energy is unbearable and this gave me insomia at nights, and I cannot have the luxe to lose resting time because i work in a physical job.

Maybe with the proper practice of meditation and breathing its possible to channel the excess of energy that nofap gives.

Yes! I've experienced a similar situation to this.

@Danioover9000 most people who recommend 'no-fap' and claim its benefits are people who masturbate at least 10 times a day and are totally controlled by masturbation. They then say that after they quit it they have more energy, feel mentally and physically 'clearer', can sleep better etc...but this is obviously going to be the case when you are masturbating a ridiculous amount like that, you are of course going to feel much better in comparison to jerking off 10 times a day to being free of it, just like if you were overeating! It is NOT necessary for the vast majority of men I argue, the key is moderation, 1-2 times a day is a fine and healthy number! It's when you loose track of it that you are probably going to get lots of physical issues, luckily I have never tried it myself so I have never felt it, but I would imagine pressuring your body and mind like that throughout the entire day would do it great harm, just as it would to hold in the need to jack off even when you feel you really need it. The people who champion no-fap are blind and deluded, and most of them lie or overstate the benefits to try and lure people into it's bizarre cult which treats jerking off as an extremely unhealthy activity. Again, just my opinion dude, but I feel very strongly on it!

I was doing 1/2 times a day, and it was a huge difference for me.

Porn is also really bad and fucks up your mind quite a lot.

It´s 50% real 50% placebo.

I love NoFap mainly because of the increased energy and motivation to do things:

1. You have more energy (this is not placebo) by the mere fact of the energy that you are not losing jerking off and ejaculating.

2. You have more energy because

   2.A: of the placebo effect

3.B: nofap lifestyle makes you move more and exercise way more, both things are proved that increase energy (unless you do it until exhaustion)

4C: of the hypomanic/confidence that surely gives a boost of energy

3. You end up doing A LOT of stuff. You find yourself going to places or doing things that before you found boring but now since you are in this constant energy-edge slight hypomanic state you have to do things to alliviate the massive energy and mania for doing something.

If you stay long enough in Nofap though, most of this benefits fade away since the excessive energy now is better managed and you don´t have to "bur it" in order to not jerk off.

This doesn´t mean it´s bad, since now you are probably totally free from masturbation and enjoy a very healthy life of dopamine free sexual stimulation (people can say they abstain from porn but jerk off, but this is very difficult to accomplish).

I wish you the best of luck.

Nofap is a bit overrated.

Of course you have more energy and your mind is cleaner. That's nice.

But some benefits that i've read that you become sex bomb and girls become attracted to you and you just become super human almost. That's all placebo.

@Danioover9000 @Salvijus explained it much better than I did, that's exactly how I would put it! Ignore the people who mention being able to go days without sleeping and feeling amazing due to no-fap, these are trolls I argue.

I never heard someone saying that he is able to go days without sleeping and feeling amazing due to nofapxD

if someone is interested in semen preservation, the youtube channel " sexual kung fu" is quite legitimate

Because youve been shamed to think sexuality is dirty and low-self and you dont even know why. Stroke your friend with all your might. Grab your dick and double-click.

Have a life though, once a day is fine.

From my experience NoFap has dramatically improved my life in many ways. Now I'm fapping according to Tao: once a week for a man in his thirties.

Nothing. Keep doing it, and ignore all the naysayers. They are just addicts in denial.

Misunderstanding for what an addiction is...

addiction will be connected to one’s values, beliefs and fear. I think no fap is an amazing motivator, but so is an authentic interaction with a stranger

Good point. I think as long as you dont choke it too much youre okay. Most people on here are so young and filled with hormones. A little fapping is not gonna kill them. Were not talking smack here (pun intended.)

I've experienced mixed results. I did NoFap for about 2 months and had so much energy and focus it was unbelievable. It was definitely not placebo. My chronic fatigue was completely gone. Anyway, I decided to fap again because it was too much. Then I went back onto NoFap and didn't see any where near the same results. Definitely no need to fap every day. Once a week may be acceptable. Once a month is more ideal I reckon.

Well you can experience it for yourself if you just stop masturbating for 90 days, or at least try and see how far you get. Don't need others' advice to tell you to masturbate, or not masturbate.

What does happen which is often perceived as negative is that it forces you do deal with all of your emotional baggage. Emotions become more intense, experience of live more vivid if how I'd best describe it. When using sexual release as an escape or distraction, you were able to hide from uncomfortable thought and feelings, most of which you may have been unaware of because you were so numb from the constant ejaculating. But it doesn't feel that way because it's like normal. But as consciousness increases the longer you succeed at semen retention, you realize you were living in a low energy state, your brain was foggy, and you had all these repressed, unresolved issues lurking beneath the surface.

Is it natural for a man to live life with regular ejaculation? It's a moot point, it's natural to be an unconscious human animal in survival mode preoccupied with just food and sex. This is one way to raise your consciousness, and easily so just by retaining your seed. But it also feels like the most difficult thing to do because your body was designed to prioritize sex, increasing your chances of procreating, and you are reprogramming your money mind from it's entire evolution to survive and replicate as a mammal.

If you have other addictions alongside fapping/porn, are on antidepressants, ejaculate through sex regularly or are at an age where you have weekly nocturnal emissions, you won't notice as many changes compared to living healthily with successful long term semen retention as a part of that.

Leo had said that he doesn't advocate no-fap because it's unrealistic to expect men in their twenties not to masturbate and have sex. And that seems true looking back on myself, knowing full well how beneficial it is for me, yet still jacking off over 9000 times (literally) during age 20-29.

With regard to sleep, as someone with chronic sleep deprivation (due to environmental factors I assume), not wanking greatly helps me feel well rested. On the third month now, not counting specific days, and I woke up after 5 hours sleep feeling like I got 8, very deep sleep. Used to have to just lie around in bed a few hours or knock myself out with an herbal supplement or antihistamine. So conversely for someone who gets normal healthy amount of sleep, having more energy and getting less sleep will feel like a problem to them, for me it's a boon.

Bare the energy and awaken my padawan.

Who wastes too much seed will never awaken, trust me. This process is so natural like breathing and farting.
