Wasn't the whole debate about how all throughout history women made better hunters and were actually more butch and competent than the men?

It was about how science can be biased and post-modern equality ideology.

I'm sensing an underlying men and women tension here that I personally do not share.

The moons of the planet Uranus - which were named after a poem called "The Rape of the Lock" in testament to women's supposed duties, all have less eccentricity than this thread....

I appreciate all the men here .  We couldn't live without men. The problem is you can't explain away different methods of being in short blurbs of text, it's a fool's errand.

The issue is simplistic thinking and a lack of nuance. People can often hold strong, absolutist opinions on these things, and when someone introduces nuance or questions their assumptions, they think it’s just because those people want things their way or are too "sensitive". I’m not referring to Emerald here.

For example, if a black person or someone from a minority group questioned the intelligence of white people, a racist might say, “They just don’t want to accept the truth of reality: that we are inherently, biologically, genetically superior. That’s why they’re so whiny and sensitive. Reality and biological essentialism are difficult for those who aren’t white.”

When you hear similarly simplistic thinking in a forum that supposedly encourages spiritual inquiry and the questioning of truth, it can be disappointing and unfortunate.

Sure, but then I would caution about bias. At the end of the day, what is being said is obvious stuff. Obviously men did the majority of hunting throughout history. Sometimes reality is simple and your overthinking it for largely ideological reasons.

Laying bricks is a privilege ? I would say spending time with your kids is a privilege but that's just me.

Historically you might not always be so sure who your kids are exactly lol

Did you just put words in my mouth dude?
it’s easy to be a keyboard warrior but let’s see you in real life bro

actually, never mind. You are from fucking Denmark where life is easy af and so yeah I would also say shit like that if I was living there lol

Let me rephrase that. I think the whole is enterprise of post-modern woke equalitism is essentially about tone policing reality. Certain aspects of reality are ugly, brutal and gruesome, so they spin tales about how reality is more fair and just than you might think. Sometimes they are right, but not always.

At the end of day, reality is what it is irrespective of what you think about it. Its like being upset when crocodiles kill bison crossing the river because it's so brutal. It gets childish after a certain point.

TBH, I sometimes have also wondered if the only women who can even tolerate being here for extended periods of time were used to a certain kind of treatment growing up (fending mostly for ourselves in high conflict, often male dominated spaces where we are perpetual outsiders). Which involves some combination of being forced due to circumstances but sometimes willfully choosing to adapt to said spaces, and it also only really works for us with certain types of personalities. The ones which get called "masculine". Especially when we are not being agreeable.

My partner sometimes reads some of these threads, including the ones I post in, and wonders why I even am still here lol. I tell him that there aren't that many niche interest spaces like this left on the internet, including old-fashioned forums that are actually active and people are actually serious about "doing the work" (or claim to do so...). It's not like there are a ton of options out there to start with, and each space has its different flavour mix. For example, some spaces like this are far more ESP-friendly, while some are more purely secular-intellectual with zero talk of God, period.

Generally I am of the mind that if someone doesn't like a community culture, you should attempt to do the work to integrate and shift things without force (ideally this is the case, as if you use force, people always tend to resist near-automatically)... but there's really only so much you can do when it comes to talking to people.

Especially if you're not willing to be exceptionally gracious and understanding, which is the equivalent of paying out of your own pocket all the time, in terms of spending emotional energy. You have to decide if it's even worth it. I understand why it wouldn't be.

@EmeraldI'm really sorry to see you go as well; I always especially enjoyed reading your long posts where you articulated your points very clearly and with grace. So much heart and energy was put into your words along with a really meticulous attention to detail.

Something deeply wrong with the forum and yet you have almost 20k posts on here.

can you elaborate?

Low consciousness (if we can use that begrudged term), like the rest of society. The normal distribution of clankers to insightful peeps is about the same here as most places. So nothing is really wrong, it's just you can have wrong expectations about what the forum is and should be.

Right.  In other words you can view the forum as a bad trip, and it can be.

@Emerald

Thank you. You are a true sister for us :x

I note that I have not seen one woman disagree with the notion that this place repels women. Or is a turnoff.

How do you know that the women are treated differently or worse?

Everyone is treated poorly here in my opinion at least some of the time. I've seen women on here act horribly. Ive seen two guys get into the stupidest arguments.

Women: Stop feeling sorry for yourselves. You don't deserve more delicate treatment because you are a woman.

This place is a turn off for everyone. We are here because at this point on our lives we have nowhere better to be.

Minorities always have the unfortunate dilemma of never being sure if an argument is caused by ideas or prejudice.

@Emerald I did make a similar claim to you. Leo, me and others acknowledged women provided in various was. But, they likely weren’t hunting larger prey a their main gig in most tribes is still something I stand by.

In truth, a lot of good perspectives were shared which address your claim and align with it in the thread. You either didn’t read them or ignored them.

And, I find it insulting (not really) that you assume all men here are afraid of women being compétent. Anyway, you seem to have been butt hurt about something and have chosen to ignore the posts, or didn’t see the posts which already addressed the exact claims you make which I A MAN, made before you joined the thread.

I made the exact claim you made, that tasks were shared in tribes with nuances that address a tendency for men to take on more masculine roles most of the time given nature and research I saw. There is archeological evidence and social evidence that shows tasks are shared, but not equally generally.

There was a lot of nuance in that thread, even if individuals lacked it.

So, maybe the sexism include you. Maybe you don’t like men in some way, and assume men don’t wanna see you competent and smart. There is things for me to reflect on here. But, I am attracted to women who are smart and competent on a personal level and don’t resonate that that somehow makes you now a woman.

Honestly. Maybe the projection includes you. Maybe, your ignoring nuances, and other people’s views which align with yours because they are men.

Don’t come here acting better than all of us, smarter than all of use more non-biased than all of us. It’s not true.

Men are pretty smart too you know.

With that said, I don’t know if I fully understand you. I probably don’t and if I fail to here I’m sorry.

@Leo Gura Apologize and promote her to mod. She will be back then.🤔

@Emerald Agreed?

Hell no. She can leave if she wants. I for one am not gonna bow to her feelings being hurt because she couldn’t be Queen of the thread, or because some male perspectives and beliefs hurt her feelings.

I for one made the exact same claim as her.

She has the gall to speak down to all the men on the forum as if they don’t know how to speak to women?

We are having an intellectual conversation This isn’t dating.

I am frankly a bit disgusted.

She’s speaking with men. Your gonna get male responses.

I am not letting her put herself above me or ANYONE on the forum. She wants to come here and be the boss. Frig that.

Leave, or stay. You are free to choose and no one here has to bend a knee to you. No one has to agree with you.

And, when people DO agree with you maybe acknowledge that.
