Leo's DemystifySci Podcast Appearance

91 posts in this topic

It was fascinating to see reasonable people (more than reasonable - relatively advanced people, as far as general population goes) to have been emphatically told "Human mind twists everything into being about its survival" in the beginning of the conversation.

... only for them to continue replying to every proposition through the lens of survival.

the "death cult" objection was particularly telling.

It's so hard to talk about Truth, Survival, Love, and God with people who have not directly become conscious of what they are. Unfortunately, in our current time period, the vast majority of humans aren't conscious enough to understand what these words truly point to as opposed to their ideas and models of these words. To become directly conscious of them requires a total deconstruction of the human experience/awakening which, for most people, is extremely difficult. The ego's survival as an imaginary construct directly hinges on the felt realness of the human experience rather than Truth. The mind has unlimited backstories for the sheer magic of existence, most of which have not been deconstructed.

@Leo Gura Just checked out the episode, don't mean to be critical here, but I thought some feedback could help:

- honestly, I felt like the hosts were friction, and I just want to here you go deeper like you do in your episodes

- your episodes are great because the audio quality and depth are locked in

I think socializing, like you'd do with the hosts gets in the way, or their questioning didn't probe deeper. Idk I only got 20 minutes in.

Your main episodes feel like a mind odyssey. The contrast helps me see and appreciate your main episodes more.

Part 2 gets a good rhythm to it! Noticed that the lady gets caught up in meaning and consequences. Which is a natural product of the mind, but is an attempt to reconstruct concept following the brutal teardown.

Deconstructing can really destabilize the mind. It is interesting to hear it talked out in real time.

They are really open good people with a nuanced perspective. I think this conversation will go further and deeper given another podcast.

I think most areas where worldviews might not marry up, or understanding is not reached, is simply due to different definitions or words and terms.

@Natasha Tori Maru They do seem like open, good people relatively, but idk if I missed something but what's the main purpose of doing podcasts at all?

I actually listen to a lot of podcasts, but Leo seems far better off in his main episodes, unless there's some deeper reason to podcasts that I'm missing? opening the minds of the rationalist community or something? lol .. is that why we're doing this?

Ask Leo 🙂

I could definitely sense the fun and enjoyment from Leo and the hosts. Isn't that enough?

Why do anything at all 🫠🫠🫠💀

Why not? More people will hear about these concepts and teachings.

It was actually quite fascinating to me, when two scientists where trying to understand what Leo had to say, you can clearly see some of the defence mechanisms in action right there if you observe.

Also, it was fun and they clearly had fun doing it.

Yeah @Leo Gura, was that really necessary? That and admitting you punched walls and bled breaking windows? If your radical insights aren't gonna prevent you from getting onto podcasts, spreading the meme of being the "psychedelic carpet-shitter" may as well certainly will. Those two hosts did mockingly tease you a bit for that at the end.

@Leo Gura Just finished watching both parts, it seemed like it was a fruitful discussion given the podcast style format and worldviews of the hosts. I thought your wisdom and insight was well on display and you articulated your perspective / thoughts very well.

I have to ask though, what did you mean by "blood" and "holes in walls" from your awakenings? Can you elaborate? :D

The shitting on the floor was pretty self-evident, lol.

Either way, good job. Looking forward to seeing more appearances like this.

The point of podcasts is to open people's minds to Awakening. A few people will appreciate that something deep is being said. Most won't, but a few will.

A few people will watch this podcast and eventually Awaken. This is especially needed in science and academic circles where people don't even know this possibility exists.

Also, you guys like to see me handling objections and criticisms, which you don't get from my regular videos.

I've just finished part one and I love it so far. It's great that you're doing podcasts now. Even if we don't know in advance which direction the discussion will go in, I find it really engaging.

The only downside of this video was the audio and video quality. It was hard for me to listen at the beginning, especially because of the contrast with their microphones. I might have given up listening if I hadn't known you.

Other than that, I'm really excited about what else will unfold in the future of Actualized.org. I also hope you will do in-person interviews. It would have been awesome if that had been the case here, as it would have felt more immersive and made the audio and visuals more cohesive.

It takes time to get into the weeds of stuff, especially on a podcast format where half the time is spent on tangents, jokes and one's personal twitter drama. You just got to shoot more poddies with the same people to really let a complex topic unfold. You'll get there eventually if the retention is there.
