I heard they are trying to justify it as self defence. Saying she was about to run the agent over. But the dude shot her through the side window. How are you going to deny that?

This is why politics is such a heinous bussiness. People will literally perceive the same thing differently in a way that suits their own narrative. Self deception at its finest.

She was shot while she was driving away, that’s not self defense, and even if she was about to run them over, the car wouldn’t just stop after she was dead.

It’s pointless, American conservatives are too lost, you’ll have an easier time teaching a monkey how to cook an omelette then changing their minds.

So there are two theories that could possibly explain her intention:

1). she was protesting. In that case the officer should have stopped her, and warned her to leave as she is interfering in an operation

2). She was trying to take u turn or just trying to see what’s happening after the fact. In that case the officer should point the driver to the other direction signaling that the road is closed off.

In both cases, the officer did a poor job of handling the situation. Opening the door and attempting an arrest feels like a rookie move. If she was protesting and intentionally blocking a their way, then she is impeding an operation and that’s grounds for arrest. But guess what that officer has to give a warning, not open the back door. And while right wing media and echo chambers are stating that an officer is injured, you can clearly see no such thing happened. Now if the first scenario is true, then yeah driving while an officer wants to confront you is technically illegal, but still handled poorly. If the second scenario is true……that officer unjustly killed a US citizen. He immediately needs to be let go from the department and go to jail. That is not the actions of a professional law enforcement officer.

You gotta watch it a couple of times. She was clearly trying to get away and was turning away from the ICE agent who shot her. 

She seemed pretty bold and probably got on the ICE agents nerves but that doesnt justify shooting her in the slightest. Its like someone sticks ones tongue out and makes a funny face, "okay I guess we need to cut the tongue out".

That’s the confusing part. Again if she just took a wrong turn, saw a bunch of dudes in masks and was like “nah I’m good I’m going the other direction” then there’s nothing wrong on her part. The officers don’t have the right to open her door and shoot her. If she was mouthing the officers and saying shit, they still don’t have probable cause to open her car door and attempt to arrest her. Her fleeing away was probably a natural reaction as she was not doing anything illegal technically (only of the officer stated that they were on an operation and warned her than yes she’s impeding a federal operation). We still don’t know and would be helpful to hear all sides and angles (including the police/ice audio of the ice officers leading up to the shooting) before becoming emotional or making conclusions. My view is that the officer, no matter what situation, did a poor job of managing the situation. And the trump adminstation did a poor job of PR on this.

Ice officers shouldn't stand in front of cars when apprehending suspects, this is their own procedure. The fact that Kristi Noem and Donald Trump stood up for the officer is a case of that toxic stage red/blue tribalism. 

Whether your citizens are in fight or flight and thus flee or intentionally protesting, you shouldn't shoot them.

The more protesters get shot the more proud Trump will feel.

She did act incorrectly by disobeying police orders, but that was most likely caused by panicking and it did not warrant being shot in the face.

It is on the edge. Try being an officer. I’m not going to act nice if somebody almost crushes my leg with her car. She was at panick but the police is human too and can panick too. That being said I think ICE is disgusting and it should be disbanded.
