New Video: Why Truth Is The Highest Value

101 posts in this topic

If a billionaire, say Warren Buffet, gives all his money to charity, is he more aligned with truth than the billionaire who gives it to his kids? After all, social justice (as a value) is not truth you said.

Leo this year you delivered so far. My stomach is already so full of your baked insights it hurts so much. I need to digest all of them before I start consuming your new creation of wisdom.

Couple preliminary thoughts before watching:

Truth is the highest value because every other value is its byproduct. Even our ability to place value on anything is contingent on Truth aka Reality, and of course whatever it is you value, whether material, conceptual, ideals... also exist by virtue of Truth, or rather are Truth itself. So technically you cannot not value Truth, you can only be confused about the true nature of what you value. The default is to value (love) some particular instantiation(s) of Truth in a crippled semi-functional way, then many intermediate steps later one might come to realize Truth/Love/Infinity fully, dropping biased distinctions, as everything is seen to have identical & infinite value. All the while Truth has remained immutable, though seen another way it also changed in the process of having those insights into itself, since you are Truth; neither is entirely correct. Consciousness is simply too paradoxical precisely because it's all that there is, so there's no means to untangle the endless self-reference, not even using its own infinite intelligence.

That's the ontological level anyhow, epistemologically it's fairly obvious that succeeding in any domain requires a truthful perception of reality, even if it's limited to that particular field, nor does it mean that the realities themselves will be truthful, they might well be full of devilry and corruption, hence having a very clear, yet nonjudgmental view there is crucial.

Whichever way you turn, there is the face of God

I can imagine the example of a girl who ignores truth and value feelings as a plot to a blackmirror movie to try to open women eyes to the truth that ignoring truth will not lead her to love.

Abstract clarity with poignant examples

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

So only relative truths can be communicated but not absolute Truth. Absolute Truth can be realized internally. Living by Truth is easy to say, small steps are preferred. My whole brain needs to be rewired many times in order to appreciate Truth for its own sake.

Edit: After a few hours I can admit that I was wrong. Ain't no way I am rewiring my brain for Truth. Maybe I haven't realized Truth yet or my brain Is playing tricks on me.

That's really for his consciousness to know, not yours. It depends on all the details of why he's doing it and what the alternative options are.

It is up to Warren Buffet to become conscious of Truth and then decide how best to align his resources and energy with that. Truth is not something you force upon someone, they must become conscious of it themselves and then act accordingly, or fail to do so.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Splendid!

However i was about 30 minutes in and i see a lot of holes in the video.  Will report back later with a complete analysis

I think the premise is great the problem lies again In what is Truth.  For example your sample of the girl choosing love over Truth will cause her problems -but prior to that you dont consider religion Truth. However it could be her Truth. So if the girl doesn't understand what Truth is and to her it is her religion then this dismantles your entire argument.

Thank you @Leo Gura! Well received.

@Inliytened1 I can see what you are getting at with that one.

I took it to mean the girl was prioritizing and valuing her feeling states over truth. Typical ostrich head in the sand while a tornado runs over scenario.

She was immature and didn't understand love and its connection to truth, intimacy and the ultimate union it represents by breaking down the barriers we think are present. She felt that feelings were the driver to intimacy, rather than honesty/truth breaking down the barriers between her and her lover, leading to true authentic intimacy. Truth, to her, hurt her feelings. So she dismissed it. She thought preserving positive internal feeling states was her highest value.

Preserving her feelings acted to shield herself, which actually destroyed her ability to truly see the man in front of her by building up a barrier around her. The opposite direction to union, God etc

I mean, *I* could be wrong with the above. Just how I perceived the point being made.

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.

Well i think the issue is that in your own mind you give certain values certain meaning.  So how you prioritize them is relative to that scale.  Everyone has their own scale.   Is there Absolute Truth? Yes. This would change your scale.  But the problem is unless you've realized what Truth is, it will just have a regular place in your scale.   Some religious folk do prioritize God over anything else but not all - and this is usually the highly pious.

You can't escape perspective here.  Leo can talk all he wants about how Truth is the highest value and it is.  But the problem is in how one view's Truth. You can't call her corrupt if her whole scale is skewed to begin with.  Thats not really corruption that's a lack of consciousness.

Did Leo, in the example, say she was corrupt though? I don't recall that particular detail but I could be wrong

Yes he was saying not placing Truth as the highest value was corruption.  Now, even if this is true it's going to be an upwards climb explaining it to the theist.  Although he does preface things by saying the people that need to hear this most are the ones that won't - or something along those lines.

Also the problem is the ego itself is a lie and the survival of the ego is based on an illusion! So therefore survival itself is based on a lie.  It's very difficult to base your life on Truth even if you realized it because survival is so anti-Truth to begin with by nature.  Truth is actually discovering the self was fake. Or an illusion.  So if fhe self is fake then all of life is fake too 😀 so how do you make Truth your priority when you yourself are a lie? Hehe.

Summary of the video

Quote

The Radical Claim: Truth is the Highest Value

Placing truth as the highest value is essential; not doing so is a profound mistake.

This concept requires extensive explanation because people often fail to grasp its significance.

Humanity's Disregard for TruthCore Insight: People, across all cultures, times, genders, and professions (scientists, religious people), generally do not care about truth.

This is fundamental to understanding mankind and society (politics, business, economics).

Most people do not admit this to themselves; they believe they care about truth and already regard their worldview as the truth.

The Purpose of the Message: To communicate the need to care about truth and how it profoundly changes one's life trajectory.

Nature of Caring About Truth:

It is an attitude.

It means genuinely wanting to know the truth, distinct from defending one's existing worldview or belief system.

Truth Defined:

Not merely superficial beliefs (e.g., Earth's shape).

Not needing particular mental content to be true and defending it (e.g., religion, science, political ideologies like Marxism or libertarianism).

It is about having a very curious and open mind, embarking on a truth-seeking journey, rather than defending pre-existing answers.

The Speaker's Personal Experience and Observation

The speaker attributes their success in philosophical sense-making to prioritizing truth.

Even intelligent individuals (scientists, academics, philosophers) err because they do not care about truth enough.

The Necessity and Nature of TruthProper Living: Caring about truth is necessary for proper living and living the "good life".

Truth is not just knowledge, but an entire attitude, lifestyle, value system, and motivator.

Truth as Absolute: While other values and lifestyles are generally relative, truth is presented as an absolute, not a biased or dogmatic projection.

Truth as Reality/God:

Truth is reality itself, the entire universe.

Conceptual ideas or worldviews are derivative forms of truth.

There is nothing more fundamental than truth in existence.

God's highest value is truth, not human feelings.

Reality (God) is the incorruptible foundation, the platform upon which everything else exists.

Truth is necessary for the universe to be self-consistent; without it, the universe would break apart.

Truth is infinite value, identical to existence itself.

At the highest level, truth is identical to good, love, and God.

Truth is selfless and incorruptible.

The Consequences of Prioritizing Anything Above Truth: Corruption and Self-DeceptionInescapable Outcome: If truth is not placed as the highest value, one is guaranteed to fall into self-deception, falsehood, and illusion.

Choosing self-deception is a lower form of intelligence.

This leads to a life that slowly becomes more and more corrupt, affecting one's mind and understanding of reality, snowballing over time.

Definition of Corruption: Corruption is the non-prioritization of truth; prioritizing anything above truth is corruption.

Values as Priorities: Life presents difficult choices, and one's values determine these choices.

There's a distinction between stated values and actual "embodied" values (how one truly lives).

Decisions, even career choices, reveal one's true values (e.g., choosing money over happiness).

The Value of Other Things: All other things only have value to the extent that they are true or real. If truth isn't cared for, the mind will "fake stuff" (happiness, friendships, jobs, politics, appearance, mind itself).

Examples of Corrupting Alternative Values and Their OutcomesLove and Feelings (Illustrative Case Study): A woman prioritizing love/feelings over truth:

Chases attractive men based on strong feelings, not character, and picks untruthful men.

Becomes untruthful with herself, creates fantasies about men, leading to failed relationships she cannot understand.

Avoids painful truths that would hurt her feelings or fantasies.

Selects friends who also don't care about truth to avoid conflict.

Is easily gaslighted and gaslights herself due to a lack of grounding in truth.

Experiences false, dysfunctional, and toxic love, often confusing it with romance and lust.

Gets lost in the social domain, falls for illusions (e.g., Instagram fakes, fake yoga, fake spirituality).

Avoids deep introspection as it feels boring.

Distorts mystical visions to suit personal needs, gets lost in New Age fantasies (e.g., law of attraction, soulmates, astrology).

Fails to develop emotional maturity, gets addicted to substances (e.g., weed).

Joins cults for community, ignoring truth, leading to violations and self-rationalization.

Develops corrupted ideas of love, God, and spirituality.

Cannot face and heal past trauma because the truth is too painful.

Dogmatically follows programs (e.g., AA) without questioning their truth.

Rejects truthful people (e.g., a "conscious guy," Actualized.org videos) that challenge her fantasies.

Falls for bad advice from fortune tellers and fake healers due to lack of "epistemic rigor".

Ultimately lives a life of corrupted ideas about how the world, love, and happiness work, making change extremely difficult.

Money: Prioritizing money leads to lying, bullshitting, and believing what's convenient for profit. This is prevalent in "late-stage capitalist dystopian" societies, corrupting politics, government, corporations, and art, leading to misery. High-paying jobs often perpetuate fantasies.

Success (e.g., Donald Trump): Prioritizing success above truth creates a life of profound corruption, detached from truth, where convenience dictates words and actions. Tech oligarchs like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, despite grand claims, are run by profit maximization and success, leading to lies and fake releases.

Sex: Prioritizing sex leads to lying, manipulation (e.g., "pickup scumbags"), and a twisted, selfish view of women, preventing genuine understanding. Prioritizing truth would lead to losing sexual opportunities.

Fame (e.g., Katy Perry): Prioritizing fame leads to "selling your soul" (compromising true values for popularity), creating a fake, hollow, and unsatisfying life, often driven by ego needs stemming from childhood trauma.

Power (e.g., Dictatorships, Trump, Elon Musk): Prioritizing power leads to tyranny, untruths, fake news, and political corruption.

Family, Friends, Relationships: While seemingly noble, prioritizing these above truth leads to them becoming fake, corrupt, toxic, and dysfunctional. It prevents one from cutting ties with toxic family (e.g., the Mafia, nepotism in governments).

Tribe, Race, Ethnic Group (e.g., Zionism, Nazism, Fascism, Nationalism, Tribalism): Prioritizing these leads to believing myths and fantasies about one's group, resulting in racist fantasies, corruption, genocide, war, and atrocities. The distortion of truth in Zionism is given as an example of an "epistemic cesspool".

Religion (e.g., Christianity, Islam, Judaism): Prioritizing religion over truth leads to accepting "fake religion" and indoctrinating children, hindering their truth-seeking.

Social Justice and Equality (e.g., Social Justice Warriors, Leftists, Marxists, Postmodernists): Prioritizing these above truth leads to fake justice, fake equality, and corrupt political activism once power is gained, as they are disconnected from truth and epistemology. Postmodernism, by denying truth, is identified as "devilry" and godlessness.

Human Well-being/Mankind: Prioritizing mankind over truth means one doesn't question whether humanity is truly good or worth saving, potentially leading to destructive missions if truth reveals otherwise.

Reduction of Suffering: Prioritizing suffering reduction assumes it's always good, potentially leading to coddling and underdeveloped character, or applying fake methods that increase suffering. Truth-prioritization might be the actual path to reduced suffering.

Feelings and Pleasure: Prioritizing these leads to addiction and decadence.

Freedom (e.g., Libertarianism): Prioritizing freedom dogmatically without seeking the truth of its nature or optimal level leads to societal problems.

Science/Academia: Prioritizing science above truth leads to "false science" and corruption within universities and academic fields, hindering genuine truth-seeking.

Patriotism: Placing patriotism above truth results in fake wars, military lies, and corruption.

Government/Intelligence Agencies: Secrecy, lying, coups, and meddling are corruptions stemming from a lack of truth prioritization. A healthy government would have complete transparency.

America's Dysfunction: Attributed to prioritizing profit (secular materialism) over "God" (truth), leading to a disconnect from the existential necessity of truth. Atheism, by denying God, is seen as self-deception as God is truth.

Russia's Propaganda: An example of how truth and corruption are linked, where a population believes delusional history due to propaganda, leading to greater corruption and war.

New Age Spirituality/Buddhism: Can be corrupt if it prioritizes escaping suffering or achieving enlightenment over genuinely seeking truth.

General Outcomes: People who don't prioritize truth are often deluded, lie, cheat, steal, commit violence, hurt others, live like animals, are addicts, fools, suffer broken relationships, depression, anxiety, mental illness, and spread misery. They are incapable of true love, spread propaganda, create war, are unreliable, untrustworthy, unstable, and deeply insecure.

Truth vs. Love (Deeper Understanding)

Prioritizing love as the highest value will lead to neither the highest truth nor the highest love.

Prioritizing truth will eventually lead to the highest truth, love, goodness, beauty, intelligence, and God.

Although truth ultimately equals love, humans often have a "finite, limited, corrupt version of love" because they haven't gone through a truth-seeking process to understand what true love is.

Human love is easily confused with romance, lust, and positive feelings, and cannot be the foundation for the universe; God's love is a higher degree.

True, enduring love requires a profound connection with truth. Most human "love" is fake, immature, and selfish, lacking the necessary philosophical depth.

Ontological love is truth, not human emotional biases.

Truth is difficult and painful; human love (like pleasure) can be seductive and lull one into a "dream state".

Suffering and facing truth are powerful catalysts for awakening and character development.

Truth is "heavy and cold and difficult"; it deconstructs fantasies, which is painful for the ego.

Setting truth as the "north star" allows everything else in life to fall into proper place.

The Benefits of Genuinely Caring About TruthSelf-Correction: It establishes a self-correcting mechanism, enabling one to find and fix one's own "epistemic errors" over time.

Example: A debater focused on truth will eventually abandon debating if it doesn't serve truth, moving towards genuine truth-seeking and spirituality.

Integrity and Goodness: Caring about truth is integrity and is necessary to be truly good, as truth and good are identical at the highest level.

Surrender and Selflessness: It requires surrendering personal, selfish desires and needs for the abstract concept of truth. Truth is selfless; it frees one from the self.

Intelligence: It takes very high intelligence to understand the value of integrity and truth.

Highest Love: It is necessary to ensure the highest form of love; truth, love, and selflessness are ontologically identical.

Right Living: It forces "pure and right living," leading to fairness, justice, equity, and compassion.

Clarity and Understanding: It allows one to "clean and calibrate" their mental instruments for understanding reality. Awakening (realizing absolute truth) provides an "Archimedian point" to clean up one's mind and, subsequently, the world.

Long-Term Rewards: It is a long-term investment that yields profound benefits over years and decades, including peace of mind, confidence, security, purity of life, freedom from suffering, deep connection to God and reality, justice, understanding, and finding pleasure in the consciousness of truth itself.

Spirituality and Divinity: Love of truth is the spiritual practice; it becomes a divine experience (like awe of the starry night sky) upon awakening and God realization. To not love truth is to not love God and oneself.

Problem Solving: Truth is the ultimate solution to all problems; surrendering to truth reduces problems. Death is the forced surrender to ultimate truth.

True Worship: The proper target of worship in life is God/truth.

Purity: It is the path to becoming more pure, which brings one closer to God.

What It Means to Be Committed to Truth (Practical Steps)

Genuine Desire: Genuinely want to understand reality as it is, not as one wishes or needs it to be, and to "love knowing" that true nature.

Reverence: Have reverence for truth, treating it as sacred because it is God.

Inquiry: Engage in independent inquiry and deep questioning of everything (society, reality, science, religion, one's own worldview).

Epistemic Responsibility: Deeply care about and study epistemology; take responsibility for one's knowledge.

Investment & Sacrifice: Invest time and energy into truth-seeking, paying the "cost" by sacrificing survival (material rewards like money, power, sex, fame, success, luxury).

Examples: Elon Musk sacrificing power, Jordan Peterson sacrificing his podcast/viewers, Mark Zuckerberg sacrificing Facebook's share price.

Hard Work: Truth-seeking is hard work; it cannot be pursued lazily or by leeching off others.

Emotional Labor: Undertake proactive emotional labor and embrace the suffering that comes from confronting truth; this "burden" is analogous to living in Earth's gravity while others float in zero-g.

Proactive Commitment: Commit to the process of truth-seeking with a love for the journey itself, being proactive rather than passive.

Open-mindedness: Cultivate extreme open-mindedness, fearing to close one's mind to any truth that could expand understanding.

Face Difficult Truths: Turn towards difficult truths, not escaping, avoiding, bullshitting, or rationalizing them. Appreciate corrections from others.

Admit Ignorance: Be serious about "not knowing," admit what one doesn't know, and stop bullshitting, especially about things one lacks genuine understanding of.

Admit Wrongness & Surrender Fantasy: Be committed to admitting when one is wrong and surrendering fantasies.

Avoid Compromising Positions: Do not "sell out" by choosing jobs or careers (e.g., academia, politics, CEO roles) that force one to compromise on truth. This requires conscious life design to ensure honest work.

Speak Truth: Commit to speaking truth even when it's difficult and unpopular.

Daily Deepening: Continually deepen one's relationship to truth every day.

Addressing the Question: "What if I don't care about truth?"

Option 1: Follow other passions. Live a "corrupt lifestyle of a fool." This path offers different experiences and may be easier, saving one from the "misery" of philosophical pursuit, but means missing God, spirituality, development, insights, and living a self-deceived, corrupt life within "the Matrix". For some, escaping the Matrix is a duty despite the suffering.

Option 2: Contemplate values and their consequences more deeply.

Option 3: Connect to the sacredness, beauty, and awe of truth and reality, allowing appreciation to grow.

Awakening: Ultimately, fully appreciating truth requires an "awakening," where truth is realized as spiritual, sacred, and divine. This journey is long and arduous.

Loving Truth: One needs to "fall in love with truth" so that truth-seeking becomes the core purpose of existence, not a chore.

Reasons for Not Caring: Distraction by "shiny objects," survival pressures, lack of good role models (parents, teachers, friends who prioritize truth), and being born into a corrupt society all hinder a love for truth.

Difficulty of Change: Changing a life built on fantasies is like recovering from long-term alcoholism; it's much harder later in life. Prioritizing truth makes business and career paths more difficult.

Parental Guidance: The best thing a parent can do is help children develop a love for questioning reality, sense-making, epistemology, and truth-seeking, nurturing these qualities from a young age.

Traps in Truth-Seeking

Pushing Truth: Confusing truth-seeking with forcing truth onto others, badgering, lecturing, or "truth bombing" people who are not ready for it, as truth can be traumatizing.

Expectation of Others: Expecting or needing others to value truth-seeking as much as oneself.

Moralizing: Becoming a "truth crusader," self-righteous, criticizing and judging others for ego gratification.

Weaponizing Truth: Turning truth into a weapon to advance oneself (career, money, sex, ego).

Brutal Honesty: Mistaking caring about truth for brutally telling everyone every thought in one's mind; some thoughts should be kept to oneself, and communication should consider the recipient's maturity and well-being.

Lack of Self-Sacrifice: Talking about truth without actually sacrificing personal survival or questioning one's own worldview and lifestyle (virtue signaling).

Identity: Turning truth-seeking into an ego identity (e.g., "I'm a truth seeker, no one else is").

Wanting it to be True: The biggest trap is regarding what one wants or needs to be true as truth. Truth is independent of personal desires.

Confusing Truth: Mistaking truth for one's religion, political agenda, worldview, science, business, philosophy, conspiratorial views, tribe, or anything related to survival, emotional needs, or pleasure.

Perfectionism: Becoming perfectionistic about truth and corruption. Life in a corrupt world requires some "wiggle room," and incremental improvements are better than striving for impossible perfection. One shouldn't risk life over brutal honesty in dangerous situations.

Practical Tips for Developing Truthfulness

Observe Others: Observe how others around you do not care about truth and how they rationalize their untruthfulness.

Self-Contemplation: Contemplate why you prioritize other things over truth; make your survival mechanisms conscious.

Study Consequences: Study the deep consequences of not prioritizing truth in your own life and the world.

Discern Spirituality: Distinguish true spirituality (seeking the nature of reality and God) from fake spirituality (avoiding suffering, chasing pleasure, seeking egoic validation like being special, proving others wrong, or seeking fame).

Acknowledge Privilege: Recognize personal privilege (e.g., stable upbringing) that may allow for truth-seeking, but also note that wealth and success often lead away from truth, not towards it.

Strategic Life Positioning: Strategically position oneself in life to avoid compromising situations and careers that force one to compromise truth. This may involve significant sacrifices.

Children as Bias: Understand that having children creates a significant conflict of interest and increases survival pressure, potentially distorting one's ability to see truth clearly.

Relative vs. Absolute Truth: Care for both relative truths (e.g., understanding science, religion, philosophy) as stepping stones, and the ultimate absolute truth realized through awakening. The work doesn't end even after awakening.

Actualized.org's Role and Speaker's Reflection

The speaker's own work and the potency of Actualized.org are rooted in the prioritization of truth, avoiding common pitfalls like audience capture or ideological leanings.

Actualized.org is unique in its central focus on understanding corruption at an existential level, its sources, and solutions.

The speaker acknowledges their own ongoing work to align with truth and to combat personal corruption, presenting this message as a blueprint for their own development.

Truth, being selfless, does not market or sell well, which is a counterintuitive indicator of its value.

The message emphasizes that personal values ultimately determine one's destiny.
