  1. Are there examples of enlightened people who are at Stage Green? It seems everyone who is a spiritual teacher of any caliber gets placed at Turquoise, but Leo has also said that Enlightenment doesn't automatically mean you're at Turquoise, yet it seems practically every example I've seen on this forum does indeed have Enlightened folks at Turquoise. So, are there examples of Green or Yellow people who are awakened?

@Rilles Yellow is a natural minimalist within reason, it does not try to fight the environment/world its living in, goes with the flow. Yellow also sees that its foot print depends on the structure its living in and so individual efforts will have 0 impact long term. Long term vs Short term thinking.

Greens minimalism comes from a place of values, "i dont like wasting" Green is trying to get more of what it wants. (survival)

Yellows minimalism comes from a place of not needing. "These things dont add anything to my life, its unnecessary" Yellow is not trying, things naturally fall away.

I don't disagree with your overall premise, but to be fair these are very broad generalizations. I think it's both/and. Yellow can both care about their individual efforts while also having the larger perspective that recycling one bottle won't save the world. But it might save one fish from choking to death. So it's not "nothing" or "0 impact" - that sounds like Orange thinking. Yellow transcends and includes Green, meaning in theory Yellow folks integrate Green environmental sustainability into their general worldview and daily lifestyles but do so with a more holistic and less radicalized perspective. Broadly speaking here, as of course there's many flavors of Yellow.

  3. "Pope Francis on Sunday named Wilton Gregory, the archbishop of Washington, a cardinal, elevating the first African-American to the Catholic church’s highest governing body, a groundbreaking act in a year when demands for racial justice have consumed the country."

  4. @integral Cool concept, but Americans can't even manage a "normal" election, how will we ever implement this? Also seems like it could open up intimidation dangers, like some guy in the neighborhood demanding everyone gives them their partial voting rights or something. I could see this working really well with a higher level consciousness society, but my gut instincts tell me this is not feasible for where we're currently at.

how was he stage yellow when he killed so many ppl with drones and didn't close guantanamo etc.?

He's not entirely stage yellow, just like nobody else is. He's a spectrum ranging from Orange to Yellow with maybe even some high Blue in there. Honestly it's hard to know exactly where his center of gravity is because every time he talks it's to the media and he's clearly speaking through the lens of being a politician (catering his message). The only way to know exactly where he falls on the spiral would probably be to have an in-depth unfiltered one-on-one private conversation with him.

  6. In general, it's healthy and natural to feel grief for the suffering of others. On the other hand, grief is a temporary state of experience, and once that energy has moved, it's a great opportunity to transmute it into passion that you put towards conscious actions. This could be working on raising your own consciousness or helping to create systems and opportunities for others to do so. Truthfully, grief itself is a form of love. If you didn't love the thing you were grieving, you wouldn't be grieving. As long as you're loving, you're helping on some level. But of course, there's endless actions you can take in addition to simply "being" loving, like donating to charities, buying a sandwich for the homeless person on your block, getting involved politically, doing personal transformation work, meditation, helping to protect the environment, taking courses or reading about racism/sexism/etc. The list is endless. Pick one thing and start there. You can't save the world, but you can do one thing today to make a difference. And another thing tomorrow. And a third thing the day after.

  7. @Opo This is the reply I got on FB from Said in response to me asking if he might be confusing Green for Blue.

"Blue is rigid ideology that has very little room for other competing Blues. It would have never accepted Jewish and Christian ideologies from the values that created it. Listen to Graves' own words regarding this on the YouTube video. It can't be Purple which is far less trusting of exogenous tribes, so the harmony that existed is Green on a very simple spiral that has little of the complexity we have today. Keep in mind Graves-Beck is a Western model that was influenced greatly by the values of the Industrial Revolution. This particular manifestation of Green resulted from the transcendence of much simpler Orange limited to trade and early scientific discovery and philosophical discourse that considered and accepted multiple views."

Not sure I buy it, but I'm not an expert in the topic by any means, so don't know...

Is the shift towards progressive stage Green values primarily motivated by Pope Francis himself, or does it extend beyond him as a larger value shift for the leadership of the Catholic Church? When Pope Francis does end up passing on, what are the odds that whoever is elected as the next Pope continues advocating for progressive social justice reforms?

That is the 1.2 billion Catholics question ;) I'm sure it will have an impact even if the church somewhat regresses after his passing. But who knows if he lives another 10 years that could be enough to make some of these ideology shifts stick.

I agree that Gabor has yellow form - in particular yellow with strong integration/embodiment of Green beingness such as empathy and emotions. Another yellow form would be Ken Wilber who has more of an intellectual/conceptual/academic meta understanding of Green.

As well, it's somewhat rare for yellow males to have integrated/embodied Green beingness. It's more common in yellow women. Yellow men tend to be more conceptual. For example, Gabor does empathy as a mode of being and understanding. Wilber would have more of a meta conceptual view of empathy (from my POV).

There can be various expressions of Yellow, similar to Tier 1 stages. For example, someone centered in Orange could be a highly motivated businessman that desires personal recognition and wealth. Another expression is an Orange scientist that doesn't care about personal recognition and wealth. The orange scientist is motivated by gaining knowledge and facts about the physical world and winning debates. Two different expression of Orange.

@Forestluv This is really interesting and resonates a lot. For the purposes on conversation, I wonder if part of Wilbur's expression of Yellow is connected to his elevated states of consciousness. Perhaps fully embodying and being constantly aware of the illusionary aspects of Life make him come off as seemingly disconnected, almost like he's on a different plane than Gabor who feels more grounded in everyday social dynamics of this dualistic world. I guess the exact opposite argument could also be made, so perhaps this is a mute point. Just thinking out loud...

  10. @Selene :x Love it! Beautifully said.

Wasn't meaning to imply that you specifically weren't aware of this, but I do see a lot of posts on this forum that reduce our Soul Purpose simply to Life Purpose which to me are two different things. As you say, one is a Higher Self led and the other is often a mental exercise of constructing purpose. Both are better than nothing! (Note: I have not taken Leo's LP course, so I cannot speak specifically to that. I'm sure it's great!) In general, I'd say Life Purpose feels more stage Orange driven and Soul Purpose is more Green reintroducing aspects of Purple and hints of Turquoise. Certainly the mystical Soul Purpose stuff wouldn't sit well with most Orange and Blue folks, so Life Purpose becomes a useful and beneficial tool to constructing more meaningful purpose without the whole vision quest, fasting, dream work, imaginal realm stuff. Although stage Blue folks should know that Jesus was one of the OG vision questers spending 40 days and 40 nights in the desert! ;)

    @Mu_

Those were great videos and I have definitely fallen into the traps of which you speak.  I think it is difficult but extremely valuable to get to the point where you truly experience first hand that there is no mysterious meaning/purpose “out there” or even “inside you” that you can find to fill the emptiness you feel.  I know the peace you speak of once you accept that and see that it is ok, and learn to take joy from being and stop seeking meaning/purpose as a remedy to end your suffering.  And I think you are so right that this is key because without it you will be chasing meaning and purpose forever for a mistaken reason and your suffering will continue.

But beyond that, once you have found this well of stillness and peace within you and are no longer seeking meaning/purpose as an end to suffering, you can start to seek it with a different reason in mind.  You can become aware of the difference between consciously creating meaning vs. unconsciously looking for it somewhere.  For me the emotion of meaning is created by focused attention on a subject/project I am curious about.  You can consciously choose to pursue that feeling and uncover what subjects/projects will stir it in you.  And the life purpose course is a great way to start uncovering that I found :)

@Selene I'd caution the assumption that purpose/meaning has no mystical correlation whatsoever and is simply a mental exercise in creating some random story and choosing to believe it. Have you heard people refer to Soul? It's essentially another realm of mystical possibilities in which we encounter our deepest calling, the place where "our deepest gladness and the world's hunger meets." Many many spiritual teachers refer to Soul, but it often gets lost in all the nondual ascending discussions.

I'd highly recommend listening to this Adyashanti podcast interview on the topic. Also, Bill Plotkin's Soulcraft book is a great place to start. Lastly, this writeup about the three worlds - Upperworld (spirit), Middleworld (ego development), Underworld (soul) - is a fantastic read. A lot of overlap with Wilbur's "Wake Up, Grow Up, Show Up" model.

Hope this helps. Best of luck on your journey!
