    First post here.

I'm genuinely curious to know why Leo, who's deeply into epistemology, feels so confident about extrapolating from his psychedelic experiences to radical claims about the nature of reality.

My most profound experiences sometimes felt beyond the duality of being real vs not real and sometimes "more real" than ordinary states of consciousness. Such experiences yielded invaluable personal lessons, but I can't say that they explain anything about reality or even my subjective experience in general.

Let's compare this "first-person science" to conventional science.  Leo is right to point out that conventional science inevitably rests on beliefs and assumptions, but that misses the point.  Despite beliefs and limitations, conventional science produced good explanations about the physical universe as we experience it.  Not ultimate explanations but good, which is what we can hope for. The "problem" with science is that it doesn't explain what arguably matters the most to us, consciousness and the highest possibilities for our subjective experience.

    So here are some questions:

    1. Why does Leo think it's valid to extrapolate from his psychedelic experiences? Why doesn't he see a problem in denying physical reality on the basis of ingesting a physical substance?

    2. What does God explain, in the sense that it would be difficult to impossible to account for some sort of consensus reality if we remove God from the picture?

    3. Why is Leo so confident that the knowledge he gained through psychedelics surpasses that of, says, highly realized yogis that spent 40+ years meditating in a cave?

Congratulations, a decent well thought out first post!!! My first post man, I was criticizing Leo like crazy, going all existential critic scientific level, being hyper epistemic...and it got locked down.

So! I think Leo did all that, because he was a skeptic long ago, so skeptical and open minded that he kept on seeking truth for its own sake. I intuit that it's also to do with direct experiences/subjective experiences more important than statistics and hard facts, and that's fine. Why is it fine? Because YOUR ENTIRE LIFE IS QUALIA MOSTLY, NOT NUMBERS OR LABORATORIUM!

Imagine being under the pressure that he was.

He’s come out of it really well based on that interview.

You’re just saying statements that don’t really speak to the cultural comparison, Biden is worse full stop. The positive of Kanye would have changed the worlds climate perhaps the major conflict as its unfolded between Russia and Ukraine may never have unfolded, regardless the effort would have been majorly different compared to a white wannabe on his deathbed that gets his television lines drawn up by a three year old making ice cream requests to his mama (Biden).

You can’t imagine what it would have been like to experience all the undeserved abuse he received and if you can you’ll be able to more easily understand my perspective as well. My perspective is cultural it’s not based on him as an individual outside of his own undeserved suffering, it’s via the comparison of cultural figures.

You have to look at the math that makes up their personality geometry as well as opposed to merely pointing at them like a self otherwise you miss the underlying true self there as well, if Kanye didn’t receive all of that abuse and instead received positive support inclusive of healthy criticism his nervous system would have shone much more brightly. He acted too prematurely with his presidential run and he suffered like a homeless man cumming in a dumpster while staring over a porno because of it.

Dude, it's clear to everyone reading, you're such a Kanye West stan, or at the very least trolling everyone here. Kanye has good musical talents, but most of his political takes is low tier, like with Jordan Peterson.

Kanye is possessed by the devil. You can literally see it in his eyes. He lives in hell and is hell-bent in spreading it. He is so stupid that he is doing a bad job and he comes off as a clown. The devil will continue until Kanye is destroyed.

I'm a bit surprised that you'd side with Andrew Tate on the hustler's lifestyle and his version of masculine values, but when Kanye West, a man who has religious and more traditional values, gets criticized here, you are not that quick to try and give some explanation as to why he may be right with 20% of what he's saying. You'd defend Andrew Tate getting canceled, but not Kanye West?

Yes, Kanye West likely has bipolar, and so does The Game. Despite his bipolar, The Game came after Eminem with his diss track, and bodied him:

And what from Eminem? 4 months and counting, he hides behind his fans and stans and is too afraid to rap battle against the Game. If this was real life, Eminem would be called a cuck and a coward for letting this slide. Jesus! ?

But that aside, due to Kanye West's narcissism and bipolar thinking, he's largely incoherent. If he was a bit normal and talked clearly and made some coherent sense, then he could make an interesting case, but now it's just ramblings of a mad man, a mad man with mad level musical skills.

An hour ago I disabled all my notifications. I won't even know if someone mentioned me. Peace of mind.

But my brain is a hyperactive rat. It finds the cheese!

I see, you just happened to be in the political sub forum. Okay. I thought the forum has had a new upgrade on notifications.

I don't know who the moderator is in the discussion, but he's not quite objective or unbiased as he seems.

  5.    My initial impressions of this conflict: Big, deep misunderstandings from both sides. Mr. Girl is too triggered and sensitive; he may be right generally and intuitively speaking. Meanwhile, Destiny is on defensive mode, and once again does a good job managing the conversation.

If both Destiny and Mr. Girl are weasels, then Destiny is the smart sophisticated one, while Mr. Girl is the meta sensitive one.

Yes. I can understand trying to give someone a platform to defend themselves, but I think ideally Lex should have said 'no' to this.

This is one of my concerns as well.

I can usually listen to someone's argument and at least understand what they're trying to say, even if I don't agree with them. But I've spent almost an hour of listening to Ye's interviews and I still don't really understand his basic points. Something about Jewish people having power and screwing him over in the music industry? And this is somehow related to the "left" wanting to control him and BLM? I don't get it.

I'm sure it makes sense in his mind, but it's not computing so far for me. Maybe if I interviewed Ye myself I could get a better sense of it, but right now I'm still at a loss.

More than likely they were never as "good" as we originally thought.

    People are morally complex.

Also, the excesses of stage Blue / Orange can get pretty ugly.

    Also, sometimes just mental illness.

Yes, it does depend on stage of development, cognitive and moral development, psychology and personality types, ego development, states of consciousness, life experiences, worldviews, limited beliefs and other lines of development.

No, not mental illness but mental disorder, mental illness to me is a developmental disease of the mind that is infected with an ideology, that it keeps repeating to itself that causes itself more mental stress than it. Like a physical illness, mental illness is more caused by outer factors from environment and from other people's thoughts and opinions about you and what you consider yours and what's important to you, multiple times.

When I brought up Walt Disney, if you knew anything of his background, he was full of spirit and drive, and wanted his vision for his animation to flourish. Somewhere along the way, later on his life he began designing Disney Park, and wanted it to be his own private Utopia, his own Libertarian realm. Walt Disney died of a heart attack, I think, before doing his vision.

Another example is Nikola Tesla, funny enough Kanye West brought him up, he was an amazing engineer with the strongest visualization capacity ever, to be able to design every single part of a machine in his mind! AMAZING! However, when he got older, into his 50"s I think, he was becoming more unstable from his creativity and imagination. He even wanted to design a death tower that could use energy as a weapon that kills thousands and wanted to design an engine that produces infinite amounts of energy. He was so threatening and his vision so dangerous that he got into a freak accident when a car reversed into him and gave him injuries to his legs and his ribs. Later in months he passed away from his wounds as he didn't want proper treatment. So, what causes GOD or the universe to react like this? Or is it just coincidence due to high numbers of people?

    Some background: https://www.actualized.org/insights/whats-your-spawn-count

Can we get the 'psychic' to join the forum?

I am sure the community can learn something from his perspective.

Apparently, Leo's spawn count is over 1,000,000.

That is more than his subscribers count. Coincidence? :D

It's probably another example of a psychic tailoring their message to Leo, oh he's a game designer, let me shape my metaphor to match his worldview or parts of it that hopefully connects.

Yeah, it's about the importance of forgiveness, perspective, and letting go, the severe consequences of holding on to one's hatred, and the courage and strength that's required to break the cycle of violence; it's a very profound story. I needed to write an essay to make sense of that experience.

Don't worry man, I got your post.

I also really like how creative they told the story of the game, even though it's not a traditional format, it's actually refreshing as I do love reading stories, and into narratives. Now, I started this game in reverse, part 2 and then part 1, so it was a very interest experience since I didn't have all the context going into part 2, and man I enjoyed the game even more looking back on it, and the sections where I played as Amber, I felt that the main character of that game really was Amber for some reason, maybe the run time, but also I get more gameplay from when it gets to her side of the story. Especially what happened in the beginning, it really piqued my interest for what actually happened in part 1.

Asking for great narrative from your games is like asking for great narrative from your porn.

It's always gonna be 2nd rate.

Naughty Dog games are a great example. The narrative is decent at best. Uncharted does not have any kind of amazing narrative. It's decent. But they put so much attention on it that the gameplay suffers. And this is the best case scenario. Most games do it much worse.

The narrative of Indiana Jones is way better than Uncharted.

I don't like that whole series. Never interested me.

I don't like highly linear narrative games.

WOAH, it's actually surprising to me you don't like The Last of Us part 1 and 2, especially part 2 as it has a few deep themes that the majority of casual to hard gamers just went over their heads.

Are you into hack and slash games before? Racing games?

@Leo Gura What about Inside and Limbo?

They have some creepy vibes and nice puzzles.

Inside...is that the one Storpey played? I think it is, and it's actually a decent Indie game but it's a bit creepy atmosphere for sure.

Limbo's a good game for a horror puzzle scrolling game, but another game that I know and own got inspired by it got better artwork and animation.

Rock and Roll Racing 1 and 2, and Jurrasic games are pretty good despite the classic PS1 graphics.
