I love plantain these days. It’s like potato but better.

Mushrooms aren’t plants I know but I got those pink oysters recently. What a revelation.

People sleep on cabbages. I put those in my scrambled eggs.

For overall health/wellness:

1. Pomegranates (or 100% juice)

2. Blueberries (ideally wild)

3. Currants

4. Cranberries

5. Sweet Potatoes

Nice. I eat sweet potato 5 days a week.

Why do you like pomegranates so much? What specific health benefits?

Pomegranates are good because you peel away all the pesticides, unlike strawberries and raspberries and such.

Stick to the peelable fruits.

Do you think water quality , probably contaminated with heavy metals and pesticides, affects the fruits? Watermelons are like 95% water, and same goes for other juicy fruits

That's an interesting point. I have no idea how that works.

But they release lists of fruit types with most pesticides in them. Melons test some of the cleanist. But I don't know if they factor in volume of the fruit when measuring that:

It seems like water is not a major problem, it's what they spray on them that matters.

Why don't you just buy pesticide free fruits? Doesn't that exist in the USA?

Here in Europe we have full supermarkets specialized on pesticide-free organic food. It's much more expensive but that's all I've been eating my whole life, it makes the difference both in meat/fish and vegetables. Meat is without antibiotics or chemicals on their feed. Fish are grown from fish farms.

We have an official European bureau of investigation on all such products. If they pass the tests, they get awarded this symbol that certifies that it's a pesticide-free organic product and not just marketing from the vendor:

No such thing here.

And organic fruits still use pesticides, just organic ones.

I don't even have a list because I love most. Least 5, now I would have to think. Sugar cane is my all time favorite which is not even a fruit, it's classified as a type of grass.

Spinach is very good and has lots of nutrients, vitamins and minerals as in anti-oxidants, it is anti-inflammatory, helps in muscle growth and bone health, but here are some of the side effects:

It is high in oxalic acid that can interfere with the body's ability to absorb minerals. High amounts of oxalates can trigger kidney stones and gout. Spinach can also interfere with blood-thinning medications such as warfarin. The vitamin k in spinach, which is very high, can react to the drug which may significantly affect its action and effects on other coagulating factors present in the blood.

Excessive spinach consumption may lead to an excessive buildup of gas, bloating and cramps because the body needs some time to digest the excessive load of spinach and cannot metabolize it all at once. Spinach is high in fibre and takes time to get digested, which may further lead to diarrhea, abdominal pain and sometimes fever. It's a good source of iron, but sometimes, because of the high fibre content and excessive consumption, the body is not able to absorb the plant-based iron.

The histamine in spinach may also trigger an allergic reaction in some people.
