Was she in the wrong to overreact?

I don't think so.

That old lady was way out of line and this young girl felt blindsided.

Pretty rude to tell a fat person to cover up their fat. In a church of all places. God sure has a great sense of irony.

The woman in the church saying that needs an ego check

she was doing what her role requires ... clothing standards do need to be upheld in church

whether you be man or woman - fat or thin, don't you be showing - too much skin

it is god's house not the local pick up joint

seems those clothes are too thin for this body that is popping out of them

don't be dressing so inappropriately in a church of all places

if you knew god was coming to dinner tonight, would you dress how you would do for a date

This is what church should really be like imo.

Who do you think you are dating? Who do you think you are having sex with?

zoomer girls have a thin skin nowadays with snowflake victim mentality. There's nothing wrong if an old lady points that you are fat or balding. Kids, drunk, and old people with dementia always say the truth.

When someone calls a girl fat, it would be ideal for a girl to laugh it off. If she is not in fact fat, or doesn't identify herself as being fat, what does it matter what a stranger says?

Where does the insult go when the one whom it meant to hurt doesn't accept it???

Of course it is easier to talk about it than to experience this yourself. The girl is young so very sensitive to other people's opinions of herself... Shame on that older lady.

I'm so slim and trim, calling me fat might come across as a complement actually xD

Its your responsibilty to not take insults seriously. Its my responsibility to not insult you. ;) See, now were both happy.

That's why ignoring people is an effective tool to dealing with bullies. When it just falls on dead ears, their confidence to keeping insulting drops.

Smh, not yall defending a karen

She was the one who caused this in the first place and we dont know what happened prior to the recording. Sure the girl might have overreacted, but she literally got followed into a restroom. That's creepy af.

The woman body shamed her and followed the teenager, and the teenager overreacted. They're both at fault.

That's a false equivalency

Dont try to equate the reactions of the people who are in the receiving end of mistreatment with the person doing the mistreatment itself.

Lol, reminds me of my grandmother.

IMO, the old lady treated the women given her standards and morals that she imposes on herself. She was saying, dress like me to be polite and respectful.

I don't agree with her, but I understand this old women's views. I understand as well and would like be just as offended as the young women was.

Her (the ladies) heyday was probably in the 60-70s, when a girl was taught to be thin, pretty and quiet. She is probably projecting alot of repressed emotion onto this poor girl.
