Lately I’ve been thinking about this a lot.

When we come into this world, everyone seems to have a certain baseline of abilities and capacities. One is better at this, the other has more feel for that.

What I’m really interested to discuss and talk about in this topic is how this understanding functions existentially, and if there are objective limitations to how far one can go. Can anyone become a Genius at anything?

Existentially speaking, each person is limited in specific abilities. What one is deficient at another is competent, what one is competent at another is great, what one is great at another is impeccable. We all range in skills and abilities not because there exists a rigid hierarchy but because each being compensates for what another lacks and vice versa. This feature allows for greater innovation, complexity and collaboration. Because think about it, if all were good identically equal we would be limited to the one skill and ability, getting absolutely nowhere. We need varying skills and abilities so a multitude of perspectives can evolve the sentient existence.

This is the very equilibrium and multiplicity of reality. All parts must be finite, limited and specialised differently in order to equate to entire the whole. The reason one is equipped more skill than another in a specific field is not a mistake. It is the space that allows all individuals to complement one another. This is the profound balance of finality.

Leave behind the illusory notion that all can exercise equal competency. This is a highly limited perspective. We need diversity in skills for the central purpose of ascendence. Hence why, multiculturalism is a powerful force.

What if it doesn't?

Would be a big blow to the small self.

And at the same time I can’t get my mind around why it shouldn’t be possible to regenerate limbs or change physical aspects for the good. I mean sure gods plan can’t be understood. But if we approach to heal cancer patients, why not give somebody the chance of having full body functioning again?

If healing several disease in an instant is possible then I don’t feel this to be a far greater task.

Interesting thread? I believe that focused mind and discipline can bring you relatively great results in whatever you want.
Practice for many years in one domain will make you genius compare to others.

For example, I tend to be more logical and mathematical, my girl friend is more artistic and likes beauty stuff.

So for a living I’m a software engineer and she is a medical aesthetician.
I agree with Leo when he said focus on your strengths.

I believe anyone can become a genius at anything but it's a long and difficult process.

Yes would love to hear more on this topic too... for example: how much can we change our intelligence? practically I'm more egotistically concerned about IQ scores because it seems to dictate so much about survival in the materialistic world

Let’s create a distinction: possibility and probability. Don’t confuse those.

Is it possible for anyone to become a genius? Absolutely. There’s no reason to think otherwise. If we’re truly committed and our actions reflect that commitment, then yes. What Da Vinci or Buddha did is an indication that it is possible for a human to accomplish such things.

Is it probable? How likely is it to happen? I don’t know.

Making the commitment is your responsibility. ;)

Make a commitment to become the best you can be.

If you gave your best and became a genius, then you were always a genius.

If you gave your best and did not become a genius, then you didn't give your best.

The oak is contained in the acorn.

Extend your vision beyond the present moment.

An acorn cannot become a palm tree for obvious reasons.

Can a donkey become a genius at calculus?

Clearly not.

This isn't rocket science.

The donkey must die and remember himself as infinite and then make himself a calculus professor.

Or maybe the calculus professor must die, become a donkey, and remember his calculus ;)

Yeah but you can't tell whether an acorn turns into an oak tree till it happens.

Saying the acorn will be an oak tree - before it happens - is gibberish.

You can guess, but like all prediction, its delusion.

And so if you don't know what the acorn will end up being, saying an oak is contained in the acorn is a moot statement before it happened(turned into an oak), only after it happened does it make sense.

You can predict, make probabilities, etc. If that's what you're into, but you're guessing, there's no wisdom or truth to telling yourself what an acorn will and will not be before its happened.

You cannot tell who the next einstein, leonardo da vinci, sadhguru or benjamin franklin is going to be just by looking at a bunch of kids. You can guess, but ultimately you cannot tell. All guesses are limited and only work some of the time.

that’s why you treat them as if they already are all of that - never underestimate a child.

too much shadow is counterproductive.

You become a genius by doing authentic spiritual work.  The place that genius rests is within divine flow, from there everything will line up.
