Brain Fog

29 posts in this topic

I have been experiencing severe brain fog for the last 4 months or so.

My short term memory and ability to convert my thoughts to words has gotten really bad.

Anyone ever experienced this? What should I do?

I meditate, exercise and eat a plant based diet everyday

That are dozens of possible causes.

Reseach it.

A big one is heavy metal toxicity. Heavy metals seriously impair mental function.

Isn't that kinda rare though?

From the research I have done brain fog seems to be commonly associated with inflammation, which is very dependent on diet and healthy living in general.

Not at all. Heavy metals are present all over the place: food, water, drinks, cosmetics, shampoo, toothpaste, spices, etc.

It all adds up over your lifetime. Especially if you eat fish.

There is no safe limit for heavy metals. Even a little bit hurts.

It could also be a and dopamine/serotonin issue.  Have you ever done a hormone panel?  Also how old are you if you don't mind me asking

One of the most common causes of heavy metal toxicity is from amalgam fillings.

This can then contribute to what's known as Candida overgrowth which is an imbalance of good/bad gut flora and causes systemic fungal infections.

There are different methods of chilation which can draw heavy metals out of the body but this can inturn upset the Candida overgrowth and cause severe die-off symptoms from the fungal infection releasing ammonia which you can combat with natural anti-fungals and detoxifying products such as caprylic acid, black walnut oil, bentonite clay, diatamateous earth an so on.

Do your own research on this as there are many methods that help varying symptoms.

I've also got a problem with brain fog and general energy blockages. Mine comes from a very different angle I think, although I'm not ruling out that it might be related to heavy metals. You can check out my thread at:

you guys are skipping one of the most common and dangerous causes: Mold exposure. Look up Dr. jess and mold toxicity/exposure.

@Joel3102 if it's from amalgam fillings then it can be an expensive and hi-tech procedure (look up safe amalgam filling removal images and you'll see why).

Many dentists don't understand the risks with heavy metal toxicity and remove them using normal cavity filling procedures which from cases I've read can cause even more unwanted side effects like hair loss and other problems.

If it's just heavy metal toxicity from your environment then there are multiple methods of chilation I'd suggest looking up Andy Cutler chilation discussion groups.

I am 24.

Basically, I am relatively healthy and have cut out processed meats and dairy. I exercise every day for an hour and meditate/go to retreats.

I used to have bad social anxiety. It went away but it has come back. I think it is because I am working at a job which is soul-destroying to save money. I don't really connect with anyone at my work. Because I am studying for accounting qualification and a vet school application at the same time I am a bit isolated, and I was thinking maybe loneliness is causing this, as some studies have cited that prolonged loneliness is dangerous to your health. It can lead to chronic stress then brain fog.

I only get it when I am at work. I feel so aloof. When I am not at work, I feel a lot calmer/sharper and motivated to work on myself.

Never done a hormone panel.

It is scary as I am forgetting a lot of information that I learn quite fast.

Do you masturbate to porn? Have you ever tried pornfree or nofap? I'm not saying this is what's causing your brainfog, but it's easy to confirm or discard it and it's free. Both of them.

What most helped me with my brain fog:

Proper sleep

Raw foods diet (specially green juices drank alone)

No alcohol, no weed

No industrialized foods

Nature

Getting the fuck away from toxic people

Brain training like meditation, concentration practices, reading, learning something new, challenging myself

Consistent  getting out of my comfort zone (forces my brain to step up)

Improving Self-esteem, sense of entitlement, of status. Seriously, for those who practiced a night of pick up and entered in state (flow), know what I am talking about, when your brain thinks you are a king, your brain (and whole body) will step up!

@ROOBIO If you're on a plant based diet make sure you're taking your vitamin b12. You can't get enough of it through plants, you need to supplement it. Lacking it in your diet can cause nerve damage.

It could be that you're lacking some other nutrients. Here is a website which you can use to check which nutrients your diet is lacking https://cronometer.com/

It could be also that you're not eating enough calories. You should get at least 2500 calories if you exercise.

You should also supplement vitamin D because most people are deficient in it  https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/vitamin-d-deficiency-symptoms#section1

Here is some other things it could be:

Sleepapnea

Mold exposure

Depression

Poor thyroid function

I would go with the more obvious things first, like being deficient in b12

Yeah I think I have met all the nutrients. I take B12 and D supplements. But will check other nutrients.

Maybe it is best to get a blood test?

Well, it's possible the problem is this. Porn is not a substance, but constant sexual image novelty makes our brains produce and release abnormal ammounts of dopamine and other substances that affects itself. Brainfog is a common side effect among porn addicts.

I'd suggest you really going pornfree and also a period of nofap.

The opposite perspective might be “I am appreciating this job as it is the stepping stone to what it is I want, and as such, I appreciate and am thankful for this opportunity, and actually want this”. “Soul-destroying” is a perspective, not an actuality. And quite a heavy one at that. “Social anxiety” is a label which is placed on feeling. The feeling is true, and is telling you that your perspective is not true. By believing the perspective is true, the feeling is naturally suppressed. But the thought was not true, and the feeling was true, all along.

Sometimes it is hard for us to notice the simplicity of our own “problem”, because we label feelings rather then acknowledging them, and choosing a better feeling thought. Much like acknowledging the gas gage in a car, and responding appropriately by stopping, and getting gas.

Dream boarding is great for getting the dots out in front of you...they tend to connect themselves. :)
