What is being done?

@Leo Gura what is being done to improve the quality of this community? Imagine if you had 20 great posters (you've currently got like 4). 

A lot of people are looking for higher quality engagement.

I vote for somehow getting Nahm back . I know it’s impossible but he has lots of experience and useful knowledge especially regarding spirituality and enlightenment.

I just had an insight that the rise of LLMs could be partially responsible (for why there are less new members coming in). If people go to forums for answers, then LLMs cover much of that need. I believe the same is happening to spaces like Quora and Stack Exchange.

It has pros and cons .  The expertise of a real person is more valuable than AI in my opinion. If I wanted to speak to a psychiatrist I would go to a real person.

what if this is just a low-concurrency moment for the niche as a whole, and not for the forum itself? I think in the future this place will have waay more visitors and overall activity. But something must happen to people, at scale, which makes them realize that spending ALL the time on stupid youtube shit is nonsense.

Because of a lack of general users. The community is kind of stagnant. Leo promoting this forum more is the most obvious solution to the lack of users currently.

Second best is to create higher engagements yourself.

having been in the tech space (open source work), there's an ongoing trend for newbies to just consult ai rather than asking other people, which in my eyes is a great loss as the exchange of ideas and the friction you encounter with differing perspectives is the heart of real learning.

i've personally been able to learn alot + meet cool people by approaching technology this way, but i also understand that llms can ease the onboarding process for someone onto any domain of life.

i still think forums and indie-ish internet communities will still thrive, as there is something invaluable about simply exchanging ideas with another.
