Are you an outfit repeater?

7 posts in this topic

Do you repeat outfits? Exact same several days in a row? Find one or two that work and repeat?

Or do you have a style that has essential basics but you rotate accessories?

Or do you find something that works and purchase multiple of that item in differing colours?

TELL ME!

I am a chronic outfit repeater; I find a couple of items that work as a basic template and alternate one or two small elements. I am completely unbothered repeating an outfit 3 days in a row, exactly the same (provided it is clean). I don't want to think too much. Just slap something on I know works and go. I dislike shopping for clothes. I wear a lot of black.

Special occasions I deviate. But day to day I don't give a shit if it's the same all week :P

Yes I see fashion more as a function not really the way I think about self-expression. If I'm trying to look good and attract women I have a go to going out outfit and when I stay in for periods of time I tend to just wear sweatpants and a t shirt.

I think fashion is really interesting in terms of signalling theory and how people treat you drastically differently based on how you present. Craziest example is when I look nerdy with my glasses and then switch to grey contacts and trim my beard and I go from being not that relevant to women to women eyeing me often and giving me compliments.

Sweet, I'm an outfit repeater too ^_^

I have a few items I really love, like a special interest (shoutout autism!)

I really LOOOVE the texture of this dress (pic below)... it feels so nice running my fingers over it... it's srsly sensory heaven, like floating on a cloud 🥺
but alsoooo... I'm gonna weep sm when this dress inevitably dies one day..... oh well. i gotta enjoy it while it lasts 🙂‍↕️

OH, and I can't forget about Ms. La-Beary... she on my head a lotta times! We go on many, many adventures together! She keeps me safe from weirdos and creeps.. If they come too close or say mean things, she go RAWR1!1!1! >:D

Oooo... I looked at my results from a few years ago. Says I am an INFP! Not too sure what that means, but we share the same two letters. Neat!

This gets into the topic of what kind of wardrobe do you have -- how do you present yourself visually through what you wear?  I think it is cool to have a style.  Most artists are concerned with clothing and appearance to some degree.

I wear long sleeve simple tees year round (grey, black, navy blue and khaki colour). I have also 5 simple sweaters I wear in winter (black and navy blue) . I mostly wear simple running track pants on weekends and work pants on workdays. On workdays I wear company uniform wear. I mostly just wear long pants year round for sun protection as well as long sleeve tees year round for this reason as well.

I wear simple sandals, sports shoes and work shoes.

I keep it super simple but elegant. I don't like to stand out with crazy clothes and colors.

When I am locked up in the practice room I wear my clothes until they smell funny. Shirts change everyday cause practice makes me sweat a lot but I can keep pants for more than a week.

When I am on stage I go completely wack with homemade, vibrant clothes.

White canvas shoes almost all the time unless the subculture I participate in is conformist and forces me to wear « formal » shoes which I find stupid and uncomfortable to no end. Pretentious leather clown business shoes make me cringe a lot but sometimes I have to conform.
