New Server Migration

We are migrating this site and forum to a brand new server and host in an attempt to finally fix all of the slowness and loading problems.

There will be some minor data loss with this forum. So don't post anything too important over the next day or two.

I will update you when the migration has been completed.

Thanks for your patience. I am looking forward to putting all of the site slowness forever behind us.

The migration has been done. We are now operating on the new server.

The forum seems to be working fine, but the main website is currently not loading. We still have to fix that.

If you notice any parts of the forum not working properly, please let me know.

The forum seems to be loading much faster than before. Let me know if that's true for you.

@Leo Gura if this was just completed in the last 2 hours, I noticed a change.

Snappy loading now, rather than the long pause > load.

Also on preliminary scan, looks like posts made within the last ~4 hours have been lost.

Yes, the change happened in the last 2 hours.

Yes, that data will be lost. Every migration has a bit of data loss because it takes time for the migration to happen. That's why I try to avoid migrations as much as possible. But this migration will be worth it so we can fix the slowness once and for all.

So far so good. Hopefully it wasn't a massive pita. 

A noticeable improvement! I'll post here if I notice any juju on my end. Blog is full cooked. RIP

Making the forum faster might increase flow and make forum interactions more pleasant; higher state, more patience. Think about the amount of road rage incidences in congested traffic.
