Actualized.org wasn't enough to fix my life. A critique of actualized.org.

15 posts in this topic

Now before entering the main topic, i want to say that actualized.org offers a lot of value. However, it didn't fully work for me. And that's because of huge blind spots in Leo's work and actualized.org.

1. The first blind spot, is that Leo rarely talks about mental health. For those of us struggling with it, learning about mental health is crucial for our development. This is a huge blind spot in actualized.org. Leo likes to say that pathological psychology isn't his specialty. However like i said it is crucial for actualizing our potential as human beings, especially for those who like me have mental illnesses like ocd and bipolar disorder. Also the link between mental health and physical health, substance addictions... Leo doesn't stress enough the dangers of hard drugs, in fact he promotes the use of psychedelics as tools for spiritual growth. Fine however, if you're like most people, there won't be a fixed boundary between use for personal development, use for recreation, use for chemsex... For example because of Leo's lax attitude towards hard drugs, i mixed once mdma with my psychiatric medications like anti depressants and anti psychotics. Which is extremely dangerous. Luckily i came out fine, but you know i could've died.

2. The second hugely important blind spot in all of Leo's work and actualized.org, is his lack of talking about how to actually make money. If you're like most people making money is central to your ability to self actualize. However Leo won't even dedicate a series explaining in details to us how to actually generate that money. I took the life purpose course and honestly, if you're clueless about the topic of mastery and such things, then it can provide a lot of value. However i have prior to taking the life purpose course, read the book mastery of robert greene and i didn't found much new information in the course compared to that book. And the thing after both of these, the book of robert greene, and leo's course, i still hasn't figured out how to convert skill or passion into cash. For most of us we would be judged on whether we're failures or successes in life based on money, not spiritual enlightenment or wisdom. Because of this lack of money situation, i am still a virgin at 22 years old. Even though i applied the insights in Leo's series on how to get laid. It just wasn't enough. I did 2500 approaches, and still didn't got laid because of lack of money. Especially if you're starting in a third world country what you need to quit is money.

Of course, the only one who can fix your life is you.

You can find other teachers for Leo’s blind spots. I don’t agree with his takes on physical health so I just skip it. No one teacher has everything you need. That’s a trap.

No teacher is ever enough. You still need to do the work yourself.

This is actually the problem with your daddy issues in relation to Leo.

You mixing random drugs together and then blaming him for you doing it is very odd.

I agree, I think the content here is fabulous for epistemology and sense making but got weak when it comes to practical purposes. Which is why I've been trying to post actively on the life purpose and entrepreneurship forum to talk concretely about making money and fleshing out business opportunities we have available at our disposal.

Actualize.org is on the higher end of self-development and then enters into full god-consciousness and Awakening right away.

It's focus is not on the core parts of self-help.

Leo has to focus on what he's most passionate about so these other things are getting less attention.

I agree the business side of things can be drastically improved on this forum. And I don't trust alternatives on the matter, there's too much corruption.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

You could immediately improve your mental health by examining the above statement carefully word by word and the internal logic and asking yourself if there is anything there that is true.

@integral Disagreed with this core premise.

His core focus as of late has been pure truth. Otherwise understood as how to get rid of our delusions. This work can be endlessly philosophized and theorized but I would argue that one of the best metrics to verify its working in your life is the self actualization of your career and business. What else is more important to you? And we can prove this because this whole forum is only possible because of Leo's financial freedom. So in a way he lost touch with the common man and isn't connected to survival like most people on this forum are.

Try self actualizing in Iran right now and being able to focus on your relationship to truth while your own survival is at play. I mean you can say that is the deepest truth there is but I would call that a stage red truth and we only truly become sovereign individuals once we achieve stage orange financial independence.

I never got the impression from The Life Purpose Course that you’re supposed to blindly follow your passion and go all in on it. That would obviously be asking for trouble. To me, it was always pretty clear that your life purpose should just be a hobby as long as it isn’t realistic to make money from it. Over time, as your skills improve, you can take it more seriously, and maybe one day in the future you might be able to make a living from it. There’s a book that Leo talks about in the course that makes it very clear that blindly following your passion is a bad idea. Not sure if I can mention the title here...

@LordFall i agree not sure how that contradict what i said? What I was pointing to is hes not focused on teaching money directly.

He is just one man and there are lots of other teachers who cover the basic personal development stuff. He is passionate about the deep shit that nobody gets to understand properly.

Leo has given so many warnings about psychedelics that I was pretty terrified of trying it for the first time. I remember wanting to read at least five books about it before trying, but then my anxious brother came along and said that I should be much more chill about it.

I agree with @Hojo here.

Go approach more women with this frame of mind instead: “I don’t know how women work, let me figure it out independently”

That’s the whole subtext of Leo’s work. To make you think for yourself. He does spill the beans but it’s your responsibility to not take anything from anyone at face value.

@Majed man, blaming Leo for you lack of anything is not Truth and is not even helping you to get laid or make money. Leo is not your bussiness coach or relationship coach. He deliver what he can and you don your part. I personally feel far from what I aim to achieve via this work, but I promissed myself to not put ths blame in anyone. I am 44, not a child anymore, you are 22 not a child anymore. Blaming others for your failure will not help. Repeat this this it sink.

Stopped reading after you put a claim on yourself and said you had ocd and bipolar, it's not about Leo but about you. Putting all kinds of mental disorders and constructs on yourself is a statement that you bring out to the public that you're in severe physical and spiritual lack. Leo or others aren't here to solve your problems or boost your consciousness manually, specially if you put constructs like that on yourself. Start with looking in the mirror instead of blaming actualized.org for the problems it didnt fix.
