Slurping noodles is conformist in Japan.

They deliberately slurp noodles loudly to suggest they love the food. How insane.

Those Japanese have invented levels of conformity unimaginable to white man. xD

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

Dude don't tear down my reality. I don't want to believe that I hate people slurping soup just because of the culture I was raised in.

@Leo Gura I'm travelling Japan for a few months and the conformist behaviour here is off the charts it's actually fascinating to see how attached most of the population is to stage blue but equally as interesting to meet more individually minded Japanese people who "conform" to the American stage orange type of mindset.

@Leo Gura I've always wondered, what's the use of that? Why should one do it? Do they get something out of changing their name to a spiritual one?

Indian words are popular as spiritual names.

Yeah, doesn't sound that enticing.

It is far easier to trick someone, than to convince them they have been tricked.

Has Christmas been mentioned before?

My God I hate this one. The idea is beautiful but the forcefulness, sheepness and conformity ruins it for me.

Another one is travel ”vacations”, especially with a budget. It can be extremely stressful that involved lots of brain energy. I prefer my real rest and vacation at home / in nature. If I were to travel to explore the world, that’s a different story but I wouldn’t call it vacation.

@Miguel1 almost all people who travel. Sheep level conformity. Even the german Stage Green style of travel. They have to check all the fancy hipstery experiences. Volunteer in Gambia, meditation in India, Ayahuasca in Peru, see northern lights in Sweden, teach English in Laos. Then after you flew everywhere around the globe on your parents money, protesting against climate change and feeling sorry for poor people.

Saying bless you when someone sneezes and taking it personally when others don't say it.

Shaking hands upon introducing ones self. Also saying "hey how are you"? To sound nice. We're fake lol

We're all walking around in a collective consensus bubble of socialism.

Dude, who has that level of understanding when they fit in? Almost no one. They just do it like monkeys.

Does a Christian or a MAGA or a Nazi or a Flat Earther or a Goth know he's conforming? No! They think those are genuine, independent, truthful positions. Conformity involves a self-deception that you are acting of your own volition when you aren't.

The Christian is the best example. A Christian is not aware that he's only a Christian out of conformity. And if you tell him that he will deny it to his grave.

I fully agree when it comes to unconscious conformity.

An example:

Growing up for the first 25 years of my life, I was a strong people pleaser, I couldn't say no. In every situation for 25 years, what I wanted was to say no but I did it anyway. I was fully conscious that I had this problem. While I was making the decision to follow what other people wanted me to do or behave I consciously watched myself do it. The fear of displeasing or causing conflict over ruled me.

  • Conscious: yes, real time self-awareness and observing myself act out the play. Conscious of act
  • Integrity: No, I did not act through my values or identity or thoughts.
  • Unconscious: a fear put into me outside of my control. That I later grew out of. This is why some people commented "self-conformity".
Quote

In social psychology, conformity is specifically defined as:
A change in behavior or belief as a result of real or imagined group pressure, even when there is no direct request or explicit demand to comply (Deutsch & Gerard, 1955; Asch, 1951; Cialdini & Goldstein, 2004).

Peer pressure:

  1. Peer pressure + unconscious + not integrity = Unconscious conformity: Leos Pizza (regret)
  2. Peer pressure + unconscious + integrity = Unconscious conformity: Smoked cigarettes/drugs with his friends has a blast.
  3. Peer pressure + Conscious + integrity = Authenticity (you feel the pressure but act from your own values)
  4. Peer pressure + Conscious + not integrity = Conscious conformity: people pleaser 25 years or insert cousin word (compliance):.

Group think:

  1. Group think + unconscious + not integrity = Unconscious conformity: Classic hidden conformity (the Christian/MAGA example you gave)
  2. Group think + unconscious + integrity = ???
  3. Group think + Conscious + integrity = ???
  4. Group think + Conscious + not integrity = ???

It's OK I know this one if you read it is gonna go over terribly. :D

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?
