I know this hits close to Leo, as he was once good buddies with John...... no but seriously I know he's not the best person in the world, but his pickup content was some of the only honest stuff you could find on Youtube. No woowoo nonsense you'd see from guys like RSD, no hokey london daygame shit, it was just straight up no nonsense advice- approach without hestitation, gather logistics, banter with her naturally, sexualize the convo, and run that an X number of times to get the desired results you want. 

Point is is that there is so much garbage on Youtube for pickup and dating advice that canceling a guy even as morally questionable as John is a blow to the desexualized men out there (me included) who are going thru possibly the worst dating crisis they've ever had to go thru.

I know it's not nice to appearance shame but I feel like it should be said... a lot of guys who are popular pick-up artist coaches are very unattractive. I'm bringing it up because I find it ironic that the guys who teach men how to be attractive are usually not attractive themselves.

And I just looked up the John Anthony guy just now, and I remember seeing some images or video of him before. And he seemed to have some insecure body language And I remember thinking, "It just goes to show you that a man doesn't need to be even in the slightest bit attractive (physically or personality-wise) to have a lot of sex. He just has to have audacity."

Maybe that's the appeal of characters like him, that Owen guy, and Andrew Tate to the target audience. They're not attractive guys... and yet they still get laid a lot. 

That way, the men they're marketing to who are feeling unattractive and lonely who are looking up dating advice can look at them and go, "You know what. If these uggos can get laid, so can I."

And that's correct. Getting laid isn't really about being attractive or even about developing an attractive personality. Attractiveness helps, but it's not necessary. It's really about the audacity to keep approaching.

But it's kind of surreal from the female perspective how there are SO MANY unattractive men that are the gurus in the field of "attracting women" or who are known as 'attractive male role models'

Like, all I see when I look at Andrew Tate is an anthropomorphized rat with a gym body, an annoying personality, and annoying speech patterns. 

And I was musing recently about a hypothetical female equivalent of Andrew Tate giving a ton of horrible dating advice to women and women eating it up en masse and getting super obsessed with this ugly lady and her terrible dating advice.

And I laughed to myself about that hypothetical situation.

She'd have a decent body but a rat-face. And she'd dress in ways that most men don't find attractive, but that women believe that men find attractive. And she'd give terrible advice that would be very repellant and unattractive to the majority of men... but that insecure men with savior complexes would be like, "I can fix her!"

And she'd show the more attractive insecure men with savior complexes as proof that her methods work and that she is a very desirable woman in the eyes of men. 

And then men would be like, "That's not what we're attracted to."

And then, the women would be like "Queen Andrea Tate says never ask a fish how to catch it. And she's obviously VERY successful with men. Men just don't like to reveal that that's really what they're into because it's difficult for them to admit what they really want."

Then, there would be tons of women actively making themselves less attractive and believing that they're making themselves more attractive. And they would be getting some men to sleep with them because they'd be being more brazen and approaching a bunch of guys... and they'd take that as confirmation that Andrea Tate is as attractive to men as she says she is. 

And it would become this movement of women becoming more and more repellant as individuals.

Then, there would be a female loneliness crisis precipitated by the influence of this kind of propaganda and the online echo chambers around it. And Andrea Tate and the other female dating experts that look like thumbs and act like bitches would be like, "That's because men aren't men anymore. Now-a-days men are insufficiently Masculine because of modern brainwashing. So, they're avoiding what they naturally like (which is the repellant behavior)."

It's actually genuinely hilarious to imagine things flipped around because of the absurdity of it.

But I digress. I just find it very interesting and ironic that many of the guys who teach other guys how to be more attractive aren't themselves attractive. They just get laid a lot... and that's a very different skillset.

Unconscious behaviour attracts unconscious people. Conscious behaviour works as a mirror and no person wants to see how much of a devil they are. Having integrous and truthful conversations with women is the surest way to lose them. The more you feed them fantasies, the better.

Trust me, you aint gettig laid a lot if you behave very consciously and mature, even if you are physically attractive. I am speaking from a ton of personal experience.

Also, there’s a lot of good looking extroverts teaching dating out there. I find that more common (and more of a true issue), unless you are talking about behavioural attractiveness in which case toxic unconscious behaviour is a turn off for a conscious woman like you but a big turn on for majority of women.

That’s the black pill reality of dating.

I get almost proportionally better results with women, the more unconscious I behave. It is sickening, and heart breaking. And probably not something I am willing to put up with for long anymore.

Pickup is overcompensating behavior because these guys aren’t picked by women as they are. No guy would study pickup if they were enough as they are. 

I know guys who are weasels but fit the archetype that women like and they get laid. So attractiveness is enough. But if you are not attractive you need to learn pickup to cope with the pickiness of women. 

Most of these guys who do pickup or joined the dark side is because they have seen the true nature of women. Some use their “wound” for good and others use it for bad and spread the evil. 

I think most of these guys turn bitter because they lack love in their lives and we have to show empathy for them instead of laughing at them. Otherwise these group of men will only get bigger. You might think Andrew Tate is bad but most of his videos nowadays are about self development , not about women if you look at his is instagram. There are some really wicked men and they are far worse than Tate. And yes most of them are ugly guys who weren’t picked. And these group of men are getting bigger because they are laughed at instead of being understood.

Attractiveness is not only physical attractiveness. Attractiveness includes vibe, personality, status, and money. Before my pickup journey I attracted the girls I wanted but I was to insecure and I didn’t know what I was doing and that repelled them. But I know guys who are never approached by women. So they need to cope with that truth. When I go to the barber and put on some nice clothes I still get some attention especially in a setting where there is alcohol and they are lil loose. But most guys are basically invisible. Most women would get into a depression if they would be ignored this much.

You're right, but what I think you're missing is that in order to transform your life from that of a socially anxious basement dwelling neckbeard into that of a work of art will require a lot of effort. It isn't something you can just 'do' or 'be' on a whim. I don't particularly like the framing of a lot of pickup advice but it is a good first step to get a man out into the world and talking to people.

I think framing it as 'pickup' is a fundamental mistake because, like you say, it's very needy. It has a lot of very negative connotations and for good reason. It's much better to instead frame it as building social skills, but a lot of the stuff involved is very similar regardless of what you call it. It largely just involves forcing yourself into social situations, pushing your comfort zone socially, making friends, and yea, trying to get laid. I'm sure you'd agree that none of this is inherently bad behaviour. Most men go through a stage like this in their late teens to early twenties without even really knowing what pickup is, it's just a natural stage of male development that got formalised into pickup at some point.

Largely true, but a minor contradiction. If you just speak less and do more calm physical guiding you'll be just fine. They will project their ego fantasies on you. But if you speak too much you'll break that. 

It's still annoying that you can't find a "true" partner but it it what it is.
