Yep, it’s time to delete all social media (X and twitter especially) if you don’t want to inundate your head with brainless political slop. I think it’s time we all just take a break from the internet and touch grass.

Seems like the equivalent of putting your head in the sand.

Truth is we are in a very tumultuous situation in our current political environment. We are in the beginning phases of the erosion of American democratic values. Charlie Kirk being shot and killed is a bi-product.

Sad and unfortunate, but it's the reality nonetheless.

but the whole spectrum has shifted left, so current left is rather far left.

No, this is false if you know political science. There are no far left parties in America.

Americans who think Dems or progressives are far left have no understanding of political science or global political history. They are just consuming right wing news.

No far left party has ever held office in America.

That’s true, but I was saying from a more spiritual perspective. All politics is just a collective imagination. Truth is now, this second in the present. I think collectively if all people followed this truth, humanity has a chance to improve radically.

The man in the video I mentioned isn't the shooter but being investigated. The shooter is still at large.

Charlie Kirk was a vile propagandist. But even so, killing him is not right. This is bad for democracy.

The left in America on the political spectrum are center-left to left, but definitely not far left.

Democratic Socialists & Social Democrats != Marxist-Leninists & revolutionaries.

Do you people actually feel sad for him or are you just trying to act "spiritual"?

I legit broke down in tears and am currently processing. He was a big figure for a long time.

Am I wrong to think that it's bad for democracy like chemotherapy is bad for health.

I remember years and years ago, watching his stuff and being interested that he was having the kinds of conversations he did and the way he did it. Challenging certain thoughts and it really got me thinking so he was a pretty big figure for me.

Again, I don’t agree with a lot of the stuff he said or how he said it, especially, but it’s still a big deal to lose him.

America has a conservative party that's fully embraced fascism (The Republicans) and a centrist party with a center-left wing (The Democrats).

Killing him does nothing to reduce fascism. The opposite I would say. It makes him a martyr. This empowers the far right by making them feel like they stand for something noble.

@Leo Gura

He had some pretty gnarly debates with University students, I'm sure it sparked rage, a lot of heated back and forth. I never liked his straw man positions, but sucks that this happened and also the political and American backlash that will happen. What are your thoughts on him overall?

@Terell KirbyWhy is the president announcing the death of someone. He flatlined and they said call Donald T rump? Very strange.

I guess I was hoping that it would show people like him, and Trump, and Putin, and all the other pieces of ... drunk on power, that they are not untouchable, and that they are not beyond suffering the consequences of their actions.

But it's probably wishful thinking.

Lenin opposed assassinations and terrorism because it does not get you any closer to power and provokes repression by the state.
