The YouTube recommendations algorithm keeps getting worse and worse, suggesting shallow crap.

We need to crowd-source this problem. Let's begin keeping a list of the best, unknown YouTube channels. I'm always looking for high-quality channels related to philosophy, psychology, political science, sociology, history, documentaries, geography, travel, etc. I'm looking for serious channels with mature people who talk about mature subjects. Not drama, not culture wars, not clickbait, not entertainment. Channels with interesting, high-quality content. Channels that are educational and add to our understanding of the world. These channels usually have fewer subscribers, less popular. If you know of such channels, if you find new channels of this kind, please share them here.

When you share the link, please write a few words about what the channel is about and why it's worth watching.

I will share the best of these suggestions on my blog as well.

Thank you.

Examples of the kind of channels I'm talking about:
https://www.youtube.com/@TheDissenterRL/videos
https://www.youtube.com/@WHATISPOLITICS69/videos
https://www.youtube.com/@SoftWhiteUnderbelly/videos
https://www.youtube.com/@thestoa/videos
https://www.youtube.com/@IntegralNaked/videos
https://www.youtube.com/@LetsTalkReligion/videos

I think there's too much motivation for money on YouTube so I have stayed off it. I will say try Reddit. Because there's no financial incentives on there.

Jordan Hall - who easily qualifies as one of the sharpest minds out there - and specifically his Deep Code series, where he shares his most fundamental concepts to think about civilization seriously:

ManTalks on Healthy Masculinity:

And if youre into cooking, I love the Channel Chaplins Classic, a New York kitchen chef, his videos are very entertaining, comforting and authentic and you will learn from a true master of his craft - I upped my kitchen-skills a lot by watching his videos:

Mr Clark's Classroom:

Similar to Jordan Thornton's channel, but covering a whole range of different and fascinating books on psychology and philosophy.

Lots of nuance and to the point. These book summary channels that actually have some substance are great.

Fearless and far:

Already a big channel, but if you unfamiliar with it,

well worth a watch on occasion, if you need a primal activation of sorts.

Not for sensitive viewers though.

Didn't quite catch if it's possible to promote yourself here but I guess I am giving it a shot. https://www.youtube.com/@don_aapo

Music and other types of computer creativity, graphic design and art and will probably get a video camera at one point to shoot vids about life in general.

Mostly on this channel there's electronic dance music. Feel free to subscribe and drop a like and a comment if you want to!
