Basic rigor and critical thinking is SECONDARY (yes, to your surprise), the elemental and most fundamental thing is producing insights. Which you can't measure and you can't control when they're happening. And also there is a blurry line between fantasy and insight. Notice how easy it is to dismiss an insight for fantasy and for impractical. One has to wonder what rol plays rigor and critical thinking really, if not to follow up valuable insights and make something tangible out of them.

Being able to contemplate insights is the most valuable skill, since all of the actions you choose in your life come afterwards. Why did you chose to go to "x" university? Because you had one kind of insight that prompted you to go there and not any other university.

That's why this work is essential. You need to know that having insights is invaluable. It is not for the group think. And of course it is not to hold every insight you have as perfect and without rough edges. The rigor would come to polish the rough edges. But you need to experiment first.

Without basic rigor and self-honesty you can just make up anything in your own mind and call that an insight. You can proactively create experiences that are consistent with your view, desires, beliefs, biases, etc. Without rigor it's easy for these endeavors to turn into big forms of confirmation bias.

It's the external standard (so to speak), something that isn't your persona, that decides what's an insight, or what's true and real - not your character. Without rigor, or call it reality if you will, you easily get in the way of this assessment.

There's actually a huge line between fantasy and insight. The same as between a lie and the truth. xD

I don't think of insight as merely having a good idea, or as necessarily an intellectual occurrence - though those exist too - but it has to be real and oftentimes factual, like Newton and the apple and such. It isn't about coming up with interesting ideas, or exchanging beliefs. I feel these are easy to confuse.

If you could think for yourself, you wouldn’t really be concerned about this place potentially being a cult🤷🏻‍♀️ worrying about it, is just implicitly calling yourself weak 🙂 and other people too for that matter 🫠

I'm too sovereign and nonconformist to point out cult dynamics in a place I'm in. Now that's something.

Hm. Maybe my problem is that I haven’t “contemplated” it enough

“Joke” aside, but what I said was genuine. It’s not that it’s impossible that this place has maybe some streaks of what could fit definition of a cult. But I just think it’s such a non issue somehow. It’s a spiritual /self help forum, yes people repeat what others say, they may blindly believe, but that happens anywhere really.

For now I don’t know how to explain myself further. But you don’t seem excessively concerned, more like you’re just exploring your expression or something (maybe im projecting now). So my comment, it’s just directed at a general tendency, not just in this forum.

Now you finally decide to respond. But you still can't say what you would have done differently if you were Leo.

Why is that question relevant here again?

Okay, fair enough.

How is not relevant. You're literally accusing Leo of running a cult,
