Fair enough. But talk about belief. It's easy to miss it. Get clear on what it is. If you aren't, I'll bet your followers aren't either.

Also, it's interesting that you frame it as intellectual work.

In practice many people flunk out of university.

In practice many people flunk taking life seriously as I have observed. They can't even stop smoking cigarette for a week leave apart practicing philosophy, meditation,contemplation/self questioning. Yes you were right that people won't take a person kindly who questions assumptions.

Do you honestly feel like you're in a cult ?

Isn't this the second time you're asking me?

Not every cult is bad, though.

This is very low tier apologetics https://actualized.org/insights/why-the-universe-cant-be-eternal

The dude there dont have enough spine to represent the non-theist side well.

And of course he also doesnt steelman the infinitist view (which btw some physicists take).

Even if we go with the assumption that the Universe had a beginning , you would still need to establish that it had to have a cause and even if you managed to do that (which isn't trivial btw),  you would still need to rule out many different versions of infinite regress and  even if you managed to do that, you would still need to rule out a bunch of non-theist non-personal alternatives .

The nature of reality in general, is you have to tackle these things yourself. Dismantling belief from actualized or anywhere else has to happen on your own… though theory helps.

Because you were very vague in your answer the first time.

You told me to go look at a thread about Teal Swan, not sure if I found the right thread.

Is it possible to be slightly more specific about why you feel it's a cult ?

Now it's a good cult, not sure what you're actually saying . . .

You can't prevent people from being irresponsible fools.

You are expecting something that can't be expected of large groups of humans.

There is no such thing as a good cult. A cult is bad structurally, from the start.

That's why Actualized.org is not a cult. I don't control any of you people. You are free to do whatever you want as long as you don't violate Forum Guidelines on this forum. Outside this forum I don't care what you do as long as you don't annoy me.

@Leo Gura I’m curious why you direct criticism at scientists and not academic philosophers. It’s pretty easy to see the limitations of scientists when debating philosophical issues, and I think most academic philosophers can see this too (although obviously they aren’t God-realized).

Why not criticize academic philosophy, which actually attempts to solve philosophical issues? Criticizing scientists is like boxing against a toddler—at least box against a teenager if you have to box below your weight class.

Leo did God tell you to change the quote font recently?

I miss the old font already.

I have and I do criticize academic philosophy sharply. Most academic philosophers are science-brained. Their philosophy is just a thin cover for science.

Also because most people aren't into philosophy, but everyone believes that science is the truth. Deconstructing academic philosophy is not really necessary. Academic philosophy does not run your mind. Science does.

Yes it's easy for me, however, this is a public service. This is what the public needs to hear.

I am creating an entire life project of deconstructing science. Because science needs it! I am doing what science should have done but can't do because they are too conflicted inside the system. The only one who can make this critique properly is someone outside the system and independent, like me. If I don't do it, it will take a hundred years for someone else to come along and do it.

I'm doing it to advance science. That's the irony of this whole thing. Scientists don't even understand that I am helping them. It is like giving bitter medicine to your cat. He doesn't understand it's good for him even though it tastes so bitter.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

Most of them dont explicitly endorse logical positivism and  roughly 50% of them are physicalists.

But its true that most of them are scientific realists.

It is an extension of the tradition of empiricism in western philosophy.

If a serious scientist understands everything I say, it will hurt him so badly that he will be depressed and angry for weeks, for months, for years. Because he was hoodwinked by science. It takes a very rare individual to go through that pain. But I am asking you to go through it. That is the cost of advancing science. Science does not advance as fast as it could because the hurt to the scientific ego-minds who govern science is more than they can bear. If you are a scientist, I can help you liberate your mind from the shackles of science, but it will be painful because you’re in it so deep. Your mind IS it! Your mind IS the thing we're deconstructing. We are not just deconstructing a theoretical system, we are deconstructing YOU! — YOUR MIND!

I’m in tears. The amount of pain I have had to go through since doing Leo’s work seriously (from 2020 onwards), and from facing so much of my own self-deceptions, lies, devilry, manipulation, selfishness. Facing how much pain and hurt I’ve caused in others. In people I loved and held dear.

It’s been absolutely devastating. I don’t know if there is a word to describe the pain. And it is still going on. I don’t know if it ever even stops. Every year the quality of the pain deepens.

Not only that. My mind is wired to be a people person. I can see how people will get themselves in so much pain because of their unconsciousness and lack of this work. I can meet a girl romantically, be safe for her to be vulnerable to the point she open up to me — and me being vulnerable to her — her crying in my arms.. then leaves me for an unsafe, exciting fuckboy.

I can see (and feel) how much pain that will cause her. How badly she will be used and dumped, how worthless she will feel, and how badly she will be hurt.

All that makes me feel extremely sad for her. And she is just one of many.

And finally, the loneliness this work creates is.. agonizing. Deep.. existencial, pain. I want great people around me. I am the total opposite of an introvert..

Nonetheless, all this deep pain is worth it. It is what is True. It is what will eventually take humanity to a better place.

Thank you Leo for the work you do. Without it, I would still be a full-blown spiritual devil. I would probably just have doubled and tripled down on it throughout the years.
