Marianne Williamson Is Running For President

Many Marianne supporters aren’t going to vote for someone that beat her.

She’s not really pitting herself against Biden in her rhetoric.

And she’s said that, if she doesn’t win, she will do everything in her power to make sure Trump or DeSantis aren’t elected.

So, I don’t anticipate that being an issue. I’m fact, she may have a Bernie Sanders effect and inspire some non-voters to get out to the polls for her, who may stay for Biden.

Great interview to watch for anyone who wants to get a feel for Marianne’s political stances.

It is predictable as day that a mind closest to "Christ's mind" will get crucified. Such has been the majority of the history of this world. But nevertheless, she's doing God's work just by being a messenger to awaken more souls and anchoring the heavenly vibration.

I am Lord of Heaven, Second Coming of Jesus Christ. ❣ Warning: nobody here has reached the true God.

She has very impressive sharp mind.

One cool thing she sayed "president represents the majority of people in the country" if that's true. She won't become a prasident unless truth, wisdom become mainstream.

America needs a philosopher king, but that's the last thing Americans will vote for.

Basically they want a Donald Trump, but without the extreme language and has Leonardo Da Vinci levels of genius, with the charism to boot and backup their intelligence. Yeah, that's an impossible leader to find..

That's just impossible to do in America now. 40%+ voted For Trump and most of the remainder voted for Biden. THEY ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS WOMAN.

Or Obama, which is one reason why Biden was elected President. A majority of Americans were like "You know, Joe Biden was Obama's VP and Obama was like one of the best presidents ever. He and Biden have been very close friends with each other and they both stand for the values and rights." Another reason a majority of voters also wanted Biden because he would calm down the chaos caused by COVID and Trump and genuinely attempt to reunite the country. Most Americans want a president who is not hyper-partisan and/or unstable like Trump was. Bernie was also too polarizing, too extreme to left, scared off too many uninformed Independent voters and Democratic voters by proudly declaring himself as some kind of socialist,  and did strongly convey himself as a religious Jew or Christian.

I personally appreciate the way she has handled critics so far:

She is doing the right thing: stick to the issues, take the high road, but also don’t let them walk over you. It’s going to be interesting to see how far she gets. I hope we at least get a public Biden V Williamson debate, that’ll be fun.

Also, it’s interesting to watch Krystal and Kyle try and make sense of Marianne’s New Age beliefs. They want to frame it as if Marianne is just being pulled out of context, and she doesn’t actually believe that “sickness is an illusion”.

Or does she?

You cannot make sense of Marianne’s worldview from inside the materialist / dualist paradigm. But many progressives will try.

I have watched both of these videos. I really liked the video that Emerald linked here and I want to share a video by Vaush that was released prior to Williamson announcing her run. I think that the video from Vaush was for me personally when I started paying attention to Williamson and her overall political takes. I found them to be quite insightful and I find myself resonating with most of what she has said.

Electibility aside, I think she is an amazing candidate and she comes across charismatic in the way that she is so well integrated. I believe that she can reach out to a lot of religious and rural voters because of her authetenticity. A lot of Democrats/Liberals/Leftists can come off as quite condescending and elitist because they write of religious and rural voters, and honestly a lot of people in red states, as these backwards, uneducated hicks who deserve to die in a snowstorm.

I think part of Williamson's tact and charisma is that she is able to communicate this progressive message without sounding like a fucking know it all about it. And as a lefist from Texas who doesn't have the luxury to isolate myself with other leftists and rather have had practice in communicating and engaging with people who are much further right than I am, the way that she engages with those topics and also call out the hypocrysy in leftist and liberal circles all while having a back bone  to her critics is a breath of fresh air at the least. I think it's admirable the way that she carries herself in these divisive times and personally, I think that I can learn a lot from someone like her.

As of right now, she is the only Democrat who is confirmed to be running in 2024. Biden hasn't said anything yet. So depending on how this all unfolds, that can change on the likelihood of her winning from what it is now. I think it would be unfair to flat out say that she doesn't have a chance and not look into what she stands for. I understand that due to the last couple elections, Clinton v, Trump and Trump v. Biden that it's easy to be cynical and focus on who is more electible rather than who is a great leader. And that is valid considering the situation that we've been. My opinion is that during the primaries that you can vote for whomever you think is the best leader and then depending on the outcome, say if your desired canditate doesn't get into the final round, then vote based on electibility rather than voting third party just because you want that to come true.

It's all due to how Donald Trump handled the Covid virus situation, which was badly enough that he got kicked out. I actually feel that if he handled that well, he wouldn't have been opposed as strongly, and toned down his extremism he would be voted for one more term.

She clearly does believe that aickness is an illusion to a higher degree if she did ACIM that extensively, and whatever new age practices in the past yet to come to light. Regardless I'm glad there's a progressive that can talk normally to people on the right as well, she'll definitely connect more than these snobby city progressive/Socialists.

Then what are you worried about?

Just vote Marianne in the primary since her platform aligns more with your policy proposals in your conscious politics series.

If you’re sure that Americans won’t vote for her and that Biden is a shoo-win for the nomination, then there’s no downside for you voting for the candidate that most aligns with your level of consciousness.

Don’t be cowardly. This is (at the very least) a brilliant opportunity to get people talking about issues that matter to the average person.

She’s definitely angling her presidential run in a way that most Americans can relate to. It will be interesting to see if she’s successful with that.

That's just impossible to do in America now. 40%+ voted For Trump and most of the remainder voted for Biden. THEY ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS WOMAN.

Says who?

If you run a campaign on economic populism, then you’re likely to be successful. It doesn’t matter what that person’s background is.

People will ignore everything else if you speak directly to their pain and pose yourself as the solution to it.

Trump’s primary appeal in 2016 was that he was an outsider that talked about draining the swamp and bringing back jobs. He used demagoguery to do this, and he was insincere. But that’s likely what put him over the top. He focused on how bad America is now and empathized with people… and he posed his presidency as the solution by saying how he’ll make America great again.

Bernie’s appeal was similar in that he talked about the corruption in the system and how people are struggling. And he proposed Medicare for All and ending corporatism to get rid of the forces that make the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. And Bernie was very popular and built himself a whole movement, despite being a self-proclaimed “Democratic Socialist” when a high percentage of Americans are very turned off by anything labeled “Socialism”.

And Marianne is now angling herself similarly with just as many resonant substance-based criticisms of the system. The difference is that she’s using simpler language. And her message is one that positions itself as Capitalistic… and wanting to catch up to other advanced Capitalist countries. And she’s framing the issue as a morality and love issue which will resonate with many average folks.

But she is speaking to people’s pain in the language they understand it in. So, the smears around her being some crazy crystal lady will eventually fall mostly on deaf ears for many who now see her in that light.

Her spiritual background may also help her connect with the religious Right, as long as she keeps it vague.

I think she’s doing brilliantly so far.

But what must be understood about the comments around sickness being an illusion is the context.

Back in the 80s during the AIDS crisis, Marianne Williamson was a major player in providing support when few were.

She even created a non-profit called Project Angel Food to donate/deliver food to those suffering from AIDS when most people were treating them like lepers.

And this was a time when there was no treatment for AIDS. And the government wasn’t taking it seriously because it mostly impacted gay men. So, it was very unlikely that the Raegan White House would fund the medical establishment to put resources to finding treatments for HIV/AIDS.

So, many of her quotes about illness being an illusion that sound akin to faith healing come from that time.

And she was hosting events where everyone would pray for medicine and pray for healing.

That's possible, but I generally don't vote for people who clearly have no chance of winning. My politics is pragmatic vs utopian. I am satisfied with Biden. He's a good fit for our times and where most decent Americans are at.

The idea that we will get some New Ager into the White House and that things will significantly improve is just not gonna fly. But if you wanna vote for her, go for it.

Of course, if it was just up to me, I would appoint her President tomorrow. So I got no beef with her.

Yes, but I would argue it’s more than that.

It’s clear from my study of ACIM and other New Thought teachings that “sickness is an illusion” would be a pretty accurate statement of what they believe. But of course, you must also understand what such a statement actually means.

https://lessons.acim.org/en/chapters/lesson-136

So yes, the View critique is missing context. I’m not worried about Marianne trying to enforce faith healing across the country. But I do suspect her beliefs towards illness carry a strong metaphysical / spiritual component.
