I feel weak and I'm vegan

I've been a vegan for 1 whole year now. But I'm starting to feel weak.

My diet contains following

  • Soy milk
  • Coconut
  • Veggies
  • Pulses
  • Cereals
  • Legumes
  • Fruits. Not too much though
  • Salad
  • Veg cooking oil like sunflower
  • Salt and sugar
  • Corn flakes
  • Oats
  • Rice
  • Garlic onion

Any tips on how to get more stamina and energy while being vegan.

Try more cooked foods rather than raw. Healthy fats like olive oil and coconut oil. I'd recommend against polyunsaturated fats like sunflower. They generally dampen metabolism and thyroid giving you less energy.

Try to get more protein. Hemp seeds or hemp protein powder for protein. Sprouted/soaked nuts. You can try amino acid pills or powders like the MAP ones or other variations.

Try to soak/sprout your legumes/beans overnight to reduce the digestive burden. I'd recommend against soy milk since there are a lot of phytic acid acid in soybeans and soy milk doesn't properly get rid of them so they burden your digestion.

Increase sea salt intake to help with electrolytes.

@Preety_India good luck with vegan. It seems very difficult to get enough protein without milk products. Luckily we live in an age with all kinds of supplements and powders haha.

@Preety_India Do you eat cake without eggs and milk?

If yes how does it taste?

@Opo I don't generally eat.

When I eat it's generally made in pressure cooker. I don't feel much difference even if there is no milk because there are flavoring agents.

A lady near me makes vegan cakes. I order it from her.

@Preety_India what's the structure of your meals? Do you eat proper size portions? Do you fast a lot? Got any pictures you'd be willing to share?

Vegan diet can totally be nourishing and complete but it has to be planned right.

I would add a work on adding a bit more options with more protein. Some tempeh, tofu, and quinoa would be nice additions to what you have going.

Also, I would use a nutrition calculator to get an idea of what might be missing in your diet. Some things to consider looking into would be vitamin D supplement and you will need B12 if you are not already doing that.

I would add foods like hemp seeds, Walnuts, pumpkin seeds and flax/chia seeds for the iron, zinc, extra fat, and omegas.

Could also try supplementing iron, DHA&EPA, b12, and zinc If you are not already. Get a blood test for accurate assessment cause you may or may not be low in one of these.

Drop the corn flakes, sugar, cereals and eat more veggies and legumes.

Do you exercise? Working out will give you more energy if you eat enough.

Stop eating sugar.

Sugar kills your energy and fucks up your mood.

I suggest researching the harmful effects of refined sugars, they are as toxic to your liver as alcohol.

I went through sugar withdrawal a few months back, and it was honestly one of the most irritating withdrawals I've had, sugar is sneaky.

@Preety_India I don't how you are now and if you've fixed it already but I had to think of vitamine B12 and B2. Are there vitamins added to soy milk? Are you eating enough and variety of nuts (walls, brazils, peanuts etc.)? Also eat mushrooms (shiitake, portebello's, normal ones).

And yeah drop the cornflakes, salt (unless pink hawaii salt), white rice (replace with brown), cereals.

While I eat the pink salt I don't think it matters that much.

Actually the one where they add iodine could help her with energy if she has thyroid problems.
