Here is a list of 10 things that are harder:

-Meditation

-Self-Inquiry

-Getting in touch with your emotions

-Stop labeling / non-needy perception

-Yoga

-Getting rid of neurotic behaviour

-Making money

-Being grateful

-Breaking through beliefs that put you down / the barrier around your heart

-Start to build a habit of practice and learning in your desired life purpose

-Learn to embody your values to the fullest

I could go on and on. There is so much that is harder than getting over boredom. The last time I felt bored was maybe 10 years ago :D

@universe I think you should keep in mind that not everyone is like you. Everything you have listed there is part of the problem. It is time that is left after these activities that we are talking about here. A video on boredom would help so many newcomers, including me.

Boredom is a really interesting phenomenon.
It's basically you intuitively knowing there is something wrong with yourself.
Except it's not seen like that, it's seen as "what can I do to not feel boredom".

So we do some activities that covers up the boredom, and we think the problem is solved.
The boredom always comes back though, and then we always feel it and say "what can I do now", "something must happens".

Is it really that logical to think that just sitting and being here for an 1+ hour,
Without doing anything is something that isn't normal ?
That only monks and super enlightened people can do ?

Or is it because we run away from something,
Something we intuitively know will happen if we would just stop doing our habitual activities ?

That is basic stuff that everyone takes for granted on this forum,
But maybe we should take the time to ponder the obvious once in a while ...

God is love

Whoever lives in love lives in God

And God in them

Boredom has been one of the most difficult things to deal with? Is your reply to the original poster or someone else? Just curious that's all.

If it is truly the time between fulfilling and productive activities that you find boring, then your problem would be solved by working towards being content and embracing the present moment. It really is beautiful and satisfying in and of itself with the right mindset and realizations.

Beyond that, you seem very fixated on sex and porn (since it is the only thing you've mentioned for your daydreaming, and your first comment about a video from a female was on her appearance). I would spend time contemplating this and taking steps to correct the obsession if necessary. One could be using "boredom" as an excuse to watch porn and masturbate.

And if you are lacking fulfilling activities and relationships (which it sounds like you might), there is a whole journey you can take in that direction. Finding hobbies, building relationships, being social, working towards something meaningful. Simply proclaiming "I'm bored!" and doing nothing about it sounds like the easiest way for more of the same. You have to want to change your situation.

I have been totaly dropping on my load yesterday

The best is when I was supposed to be at home, not being in her bed, life totaly unfolding on itself, or maybe unfolding somewhere else hehehehe

I quitted 98% of my porn habit those last 6 months, and I have a legit gf currently, when I was single 25y of my life.

stop jerking off, that's for sheep, go met people, and stop totaly watching porn, afters months your minds will cure from imagery and false way to be entirely with a girl.

the first month is a fight, take the nofap community, but don't become over crazy about that, find a friend to work with, it's better to fight together.

Yes, I remember back when I was younger I got bored. I was bored?

And I distinctively rememebr reading a book that described a person who was never bored. How he wasnt even sure what the concept was and he was perplexed when his friend told him he was bored. It is so long ago I dont remember which book but must have been some of that self-help stuff out there.

It really changed how I looked at boredom and made me decide to never be bored again... It somehow emotionally and logically convinced me.

So if Leo would make a video about it he might look at what boredom is. What is it essentially? Its kind of a state, in which you are waiting. Waiting for something to happen. Something entertaining maybe?

Maybe if you realize that you dont need to be entertained in any way. And become fully responsible for making things happen on your own, your problem with boredom will be solved.

@Ampresus Leo already has a video on that. The boredom theme is woven into his addictions video

I'll add that boredom is rejection of the present (gift) moment.

You think and expect reality to be some certain way, but reality doesn't obey your thoughts. God does not obey Its creation.

Accept what you have, and let go of your imagination.

@ZZZZ I was speaking in a general sense. If you had read my original post, you would know that I get bored of the activities themselves. The time between them is not my issue. Again, I was talking in a general sense.

@ZZZZ I know about how porn is supposedly bad. I know about ''my obsession'' with it. I have been trying to quit, but as I mentioned I might try this Tantra masturbation as a replacement. Oh, didn't I mention I am very young? Still am new to my hormones.

My boredom IS in the journal of ''finding hobbies, building relationships, being social, working towards something meaningful''. My bad if I didn't mention that I tried all of that. It just became really boring. I have tried a lot of things to change my situation, Why do you think I started to post about it? Am desperate.

@Truth Addict Boredom comes before peace and stillness it is attempt of your egoic mind to keep you distracted for you to search for pleasure "outside".

You still think God and creation is separated, you still think of yourself as creature inside reality. You are reality always forever even beyond apparent level(your mask)  What I mean by mask is awareness itself.

Yeah, like you can do anything by your will. Good luck with that!

Why do you care what I think? I'm happy and I have no problems with my beliefs.

I think Zerol has the teacher syndrom.

That's when you had a mystical experience and now want to teach anyone about it,
And also think you're the only one to really know what the Truth is.

@Ampresus bored? i know you're very young, but this is something that i did at your age (and even younger): think about your life after your parents are dead.

who is going to feed you? where are you going to live? this way of thinking can shake you out of your current complacent life. engage in your quest for survival already... stop fooling yourself.

God I can't believe I am at this point in life, but seriously everything is boring.

When I started my journey here I was a gaming addict, porn addict, fantasize-fanatict and overall lazy. Although I went to the gym 3 times a week, I didn't feel much energy boosts or whatever the pro's are according to scientists.

Gaming is boring as hell. I think I should just quit all of it, but I still have 2 friends who game and don't want to lose them. My only friends one would say. Without them my life is even more empty. However, now I come to think about it, they are internet friends. Meaning I will forever cry behind my monitor, because lets be real here. I won't meet them IRL. And if I did, we would never move to a place together or something where we can IRL friends. Gaming stays the same, always. Never fucking changes. Gamemodes, in-game loot, everything is the same. So boring.

I admit that I still am addicted to porn. I can make up all kinds of excuses, but the fact remains that I won't get any sexual satisfaction any time soon. I stopped caring how the ''beautiful'' girls think about me. Since I started to be more me, and less someone else, I haven't gotten much succes with the ladies. Although, I might be able to quit porn if I can do this thing called ''Tantra masturbation''. I read something about it on this forum, but couldn't find the post later.

With ''fantasize-fanatic'' I mean literally spending hours fantasizing about how it would be to have a chill life. Spending minutes fantasizing getting a blowjob or having a threesome. Yes, I even practiced lucid dreaming so that I could have sex in my dreams on command. Fantasizing has always been something I did and Leo made me realize that I was actually waisting time. When I started with meditation I was hopeful, now I quit because it brought me stress. How am I supposed to look at my thoughts when my legs are asking for attention because they hurt?  The hurt isn't the problem, the fact that I can't focus frustrates me. I get mad and then stressed. Stress has been in my life since a few months ago, when I started with all of this. Wow, I wonder why....

Laziness is just my best friend if I am honest. However, now that everything is boring, even sitting on my couch doing nothing is not fun. Gaming for hours just doesn't do the trick. Watching movies is very boring, especially when in the middle of the movie you realize that you don't have friends. Especially when the people in the movies clearly do have friends.

Why am I posting this? Because this might be my last post. Spirituality, all fun and stuff, not my thing. All I do right now is reading books, somehow I can be entertained by them for 20 minutes maximum. Of course non-fiction books, I am not stupid. Currently reading Sophie's World and damn a lot of philosophers waisted so much time. Who cares if the world is rational? Jesus christ...

Any suggestions in what I could do? I suppose sitting on a bench in the park isn't something adviced to do, althought I did enjoy that. At least trees are quiet. Nature is peace. #

Do some reading on this site, best if you read the book:

https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/

You won't be able to feel excited for anything if your brain is not operating properly. Depending on how much porn you are consuming, you brain might look very similar to that of a heroine addict.

This should be your first priority, because if you can't let go of that you simply won't have motivation or interest to do anything. You are far from the only one who has this problem.
