Best / Quickest ways to have mystical experiences

What are the best ways to have mystical experiences?

By best I mean:

1. Quickest

2. Most likely

3. Safest

4. Cheapest

I've been doing meditation for about four years now, and self-inquire for about a year.  I've struggled getting into a good rhythm with any of these techniques.  Even though I've been doing them pretty much daily.  Whenever I meditate, even now, I feel like it's such a slog and it feels like I'm not getting anywhere.

So I'm looking for a more direct route.  It seems like psychedelics (particularly 5-Meo DMT) is the quickest route, but I'd love to hear of other ideas.

Thanks any ideas.

Alone in nature, without any electronics will be the fastest while you Breathe and have no entertainment.

Be careful, the desire for those experiences might have caught you in a loop of chasing - sneaky, sneaky ego.

You see, the reason you want to be better, is the reason why you aren’t. Shall I put it like that?

We aren't better, because we want to be.

Stop trying to get somewhere. Rupert Spira once said that if youre not absolutely enjoying your meditation or inquiry you might as well not do it. You cant be in the moment if youre always trying to get somewhere.

Yeah the search for experiences means a occupied mind. Mind looking to the next moment to bring about a satisfactory experience is a mind fixated on pleasure which also tags along this thing called fear. A mind burdened by fear is a mind that is attached and will as a result project its next experience by indentifying with its own content(thought).

One question that really helped me was what is an experience? Is there an experience without the experiencer(self knowledge/past experience)?

Seeking mystical experiences is the same thing as seeking the best porn video of the day, seeing the new blockbuster movie, a new relationship, or using recreational drugs.

Still a craving, still an escape from yourself.

Seek the real thing and dismiss everything else that looks like it untill you're 1000% sure that you realized the Truth.

Do not force anything. One could say that life itself is a mystical experience. It is on us to recognize this.

mystical experiences aren't evil, they're huge for motivating you and knowing what the heck you're actually going after

Wow.  Thanks for all the input.

@Shin haha I like that.

@SriBhagwanYogi I thought MDMA was more of a feeling, emotional high?  What types of effects can it have?  Have you had or heard of anyone who's had mystical experiences on it?  If so, what were they like?  Thanks for any info.

I don't know about all this non-seeking versus seeking.  It seems to me that Leo advocates seeking as a means to motivate oneself.  Which I can see as being very useful, and without it might not continue or work as hard with spiritual practices.

Yet, I can see also how it may lead to feeling unsatisfied in the present moment.

I feel like for me at this moment, I don't really care if I'm a little dissatisfied in the moment by not having a mystical experience.  And that chasing a mystical experience and being highly motivated to do so (resulting in putting in the necessary work...hopefully) would be wise for me.

But, maybe not.  I don't know.  :)

Thanks for the advice anyhoo.

Yes,  it is like meditating , and takes less effort when you do not know how to guide you in meditation state, only thing you have to know is how to not fall asleep , but be asleep at the same time.

MDMA was a hell of a drug when I took it. You will most certainly have insights and outlooks that you could consider mystical in the right setting. It can just be fairly rough to come off of (although bearable). Pairing additional antioxidants and supplements with it can really help in this regard. I'd probably try psychadelics first if that's what you're after and you've never tried them.

I don't think I've ever been as genuinely happy and positive as I was on MDMA. You really experience pure love while you're rolling. Your mind becomes so sharp and clear. Nothing like alcohol at all. I actually felt like there was a physical wall between myself and my friends drinking in the kitchen. It seemed so clearly like poison in that moment. Very interesting stuff. Give it a try sometime if you find the opportunity. I had one bad experience rolling that made me quite anxious for a while, but I was much less spiritually developed at that time.
