Really sorry to hear that :( I always appreciated you here a lot.

As some people above have said, you should feel no pressure to make this a binding decision, but I definitely understand the frustration.

Thank you for all your posts, YouTube videos / content / wisdom you've shared with us!

Hugs to Emerald :x

Hey everyone. It's been great getting to know many of you, since I joined the forum 10+ years ago.

But this is my last post on the forum, as it's just not a place that has space for who I fundamentally am as a person... especially as a woman, as there's no space for Femininity or womanhood here.

Good luck on your journey Emerald!! You are a voice of wisdom and will be missed.

I feel the same way as you around the treatment of women, not just of this forum, but of social media and the internet at large.

The treatment of women on the internet has forced me to touch grass.

OP has always been a debate bro and rather ideological. By their own words addicted to arguing last time they made a farewell post.

I'm not trying to be mean, but running yourself into the ground arguing on a spiritual forum is a skill issue. It couldn't really end any other way but crashing out without self-awareness of how your being ideological. Its taken so seriously too.

In short you’re frustrated because you were contradicted by some people on a tropic.

Collectively we are the forum. What you say and your tone matters.

What's wrong with the forum is immaturity, lack of empathy and mob mentality.

I see nothing wrong or contradictory @Emerald with how you choose to present yourself. You are saying "Here I am this is me!" and we're all doing the same.

How would you feel if your character was picked apart and analysed and contradicted with every post?

We should be listening to what people are actually saying and not raging against a person's character.

Thank you for being a blessing to the world, Emerald.

This website is based on a 90 degree plunge to the truth, with little relational probing to determine whether you're hitting a rock or hitting another person digging. And you get poor manners because your head is sore.

If you trace the aesthetics of a place, you can often find the relational vibrancy and cohesion. Here is only black and white. Functional yes, artistic no. I never believed this place was a cult per se, but the presentation of the website could be improved such that masculinity is made less the imperative. Leo's portrait is still on the front page, can we not think of any other art that presents a relationship to Truth? It needn't be cliche.

Leo's book list is that bed of feathers he rests his head on every night before the dawn comes and he'll tell you he's flying solo. Every time he says, "form your own opinions." , it is by necessity of being online - a cold stone going down into the Earth with no attempt at shared understanding. (This is a problem stemming from the nature of being online, but aesthetics will draw you to an idea, and most things draw towards masculinity).

I don’t think there is anything against women having an opinion here . I hear that a lot actually from most women who are or were active here that they are suppressed or that their opinions are automatically regarded as inferior because they are women . Never really understood why they were saying that .

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

Biological essentialism can feel demeaning/deterministic to women because of a long history of women being second-class to men. Post-modern equalitism, or social constructivism, tries to create more equality between the sexes by flattening the differences ideologically, but fails to achieve this maximally because the sexes are foundationally unequal in certain ways. Hence you tend lose debates arguing for equalitism, que getting emotional because it's a touchy subject.

I don't think women's opinion are valued less. If anything, it's given slightly more attention because it's such a liberal space. Nobody would care if OP was a dude. It's just that your wrong when your wrong.

Pretty good point.

Also, what does winning a debate look like on this forum? What do people expect? Do they expect the other person to go "wow you are absolutely right and I have nothing more say" ?

Sometime I argue on this forum and then days or weeks later I realize the other person was right or at least had a good point.

This is a great insight. I think the problem is that Leo's strength is also his weakness. He is incredibly blunt and direct. This cuts through the bullshit, reaches more people, and can be much more persuasive BUT this is antithetical to loving communication in relationships.

So we as fans have to be careful not to adopt Leo's tone even though Leo's style is was worked for us.

It is too hard of a truth for then to swallow. They just don't want to accept it, because it makes them feel crippled. But they live a even more crippled life if they try to be men instead. And by doing this, they bring the whole society down.

Those office jobs and shit are not real life. Real life is laying bricks the whole day in freezing cold for years and working with some gross uneducated men who bully you. If a woman is doing that, she won't be a woman anymore. She would just be a man with pussy.

Depends on how seriously you take it. People get wound up.

Arguing and debating is dumb. If you feel hurt for indulging in debating then you deserve it. That's the price to pay for not caring about the big picture.

I think Emerald was defending her mind and you may be tethering assumptions to that.

I daresay it's hard to feel crippled as a woman, as it's what's in the innate structure of the soul. You're either fighting for it in healthy ways or unhealthy ways. Someone would have to batter you for a long time to feel any real shame in it; even then you could synthesize new ideas for growth..

I believe that spiritual essences fall down under a different light when they're expressed by women in this space. It attracts scrutiny because it is so precise to what other members are lacking in their spiritual journeys. This could naturally breed tension and rivalry.

I was attracted to Leo's videos because they are no-bullshit and little fluff. Yet, I am prone to criticizing him. The same thing is happening with men criticizing women, I'd wager. Critcizing their own blind spots.

And the pickup subculture in this community is sterile of any spiritual distinctiveness, also marginally hostile to women at least on an intellectual basis.
