Probably behind the scenes, the AI is pulling from a few number of templates on Github. Maybe only one? But at this point, I don't think it can replace  human web developers because it's just too generic. When enough people make websites and many of them look alike, there won't be any special identity to anyone.

I mean, I made a lot of modifications, and I asked for this color palette, almost every block, and how the UI should work. I might call things “blocks” and “top bars” instead of using the correct terms, but GPT gets my drift.

It didn’t just pop out from a single prompt at all, so I doubt it was stolen from anywhere, considering the number of specific changes I made to get this result.

Though most websites are generic for attention-optimization reasons. Just like everything in society seems to converge toward a single direction, it’s probably more of a general trend caused by monocultural influence through the internet.

I could make it crazier in the future and create more unusual templates, but having a website that still looks somewhat familiar has another advantage: people don’t need ten minutes to figure out how to navigate it.

So it’s intentional. If I wanted something crazier and more gimmicky, I probably could have done it to some extent. I don’t know, for now, this makes me very happy!

i had it in orange at first . . so unsure, I just like purple.

You're not entirely wrong, but it's flexible enough that you can give it specific design requirements which are unique to you and it'll implement them.

You can also give it several other websites as inspiration and it'll create something unique that draws inspiration from all of of them.

Oh no, relax. It's not stealing. GitHub is free, and developers use it to upload their code, track changes, and to showcase and share with others.

Yes, that is good. It has clear UI and easy UX.

I wonder what would happen when back-end stuff comes into the picture.

For a simple portfolio website, it seems fine. But for more complex integrative apps, I doubt it will be as easy. There are many details that need to be set manually to connect the different parts of an app together. And debugging is not so easy even with the best AIs.

I guess we'll find out soon.

Thanks, I hope so. I still need to improve the clarity of the “proposal.” For now, I know that things are still being built up, especially some of the text in certain sections, and it needs much more clarity.

But I still feel like AI is crazy in certain areas. I don’t know how much this would have cost me otherwise, but probably more than €3,000, and it likely wouldn’t have been as good or as fast.

That’s also why I don’t spend much time focusing on what I think the limits of AI are. I tried coding a game with Godot five months ago, and the amount of abuse I performed toward the AI to get it to be debugging the thing wasn’t worth it. With Claude’s credit system, it was hell.

It’s better to know what you’re doing when you work on something like that. For a website like mine, though, AI is perfectly fine. There’s no complex PHP or heavy backend. It’s just straightforward and to the point.

I am going to create at least one new science-fiction book per week with ChatGPT's version of Austin Powers "Groovy baby yeah" combined with Dr. Evil's "1,000,000 dollars. Wait.. 1,000,000,000 dollars".

Aka, ChatGPT pro trial with maximum power (highest tier).

I have already gotten it to create a 200 page textbook on a topic that would otherwise be considered foreign to its training data. Mixed results, sometimes genuinely suprisingly good and therefore not mere slop!

I want to now move to imagination, and begin slowly scaling with every model release. 

It gives me ability to take any imaginary idea I have and put it into print straight-away. This is what every creative person has been waiting for (that is, for those of us that have at least embraced AI), and now its arguably right now available at our doorstep to continually recursively fuel all the lights supporting our creative consciousness mode. 

I think we're maybe one or two, perhaps even three model upgrades from truly being there as it concerns writing mind-blowing 200+ page fictional pieces, but we're at least at the horse and carriage stage, just not fully tamed stallion mode yet. It's amazing to wonder that flying car mode could be as little as two years away but.

I think right now, is the perfect time to start truly contemplating all the creative ways you can utilise AI.

The novel I got it to write was unspeakably dry despite my protests for it to be as "incredibly imaginative and inventive as possible". I even gave it source material to help with the creative process. I'll privately test out other AI's and simply wait until there's something genuine to talk about concerning genuinely creative writing that is not merely performative..
