I don't understand how we can be against israel.

The best way to look at the conflict is through a stage yellow lens I think. What if both Isreal and Palestine are right and both are wrong too? Choosing a side here is impossible and it is actually counterproductive. We have to be comfortable holding opposing views on our heads.

Just because your ancestors lived in a house 2000 years ago doesn’t give you the right to kick out the family that has been living there for 1400 years. 
 

The land that the modern state of Israel is built off hasn’t been Jewish longer than Turkey has been Turkish (1071 AD) or Hungary has been Hungarian (900 AD), yet no one believes those countries should be handed back to the “original owners.”

No one is saying Jews don’t have the right to live in peace on this earth but trying to do so at the expense of the native population just doesn’t make sense with our modern understanding of self-determination, human rights, etc.

@Apparition of Jack Almost no state has been established through a clean process. Israel is just one example among many. In addition I think the description of kicking out is far too simplistic to a conflict that has developed gradually over many years long before the war in 1948.

The Jews have an absolute need for their land to be Israel, not somewhere else. It's a matter of religion and identity. The problem isn't that they displaced another people, but that it's religious.

There was plenty of room for both states. The Muslims absolutely refused because it was a non-Muslim state. At the beginning of the 20th century, borders weren't drawn; Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, etc., didn't exist. Who would care about a small country in a corner? But it's impossible for the Muslims , a blasphemy. If they were accept the solution of two states, they would get enormous benefit from Israel, but they don't want benefits but honor.

I don't understand how you can say to people that the place where Palestinians have lived for thousands of years belongs solely to the Israelis. Even in the Bible it says that Abraham travelled there as a foreigner, but then his grandson's family when to Egypt to escape famine. Their descendents then came out from Egypt and conquered the current area of Israel committing genecide to many of the kingdoms in the place at that time. And in the last century they managed to pull it off again.

Now I don't want to hear any of the "they were led by God" bullshit. You can basically have tons of reasons to be against any nation for taking over land that originally didn't belong to them. Even in this day and age, the strong still overpowers the weak.

Israel and the IDF have been caught executing violent war crimes and sadistically punishing even innocent palestinians many times. Their ideology goes beyond protecting themselves and their people. It's think that they are the chosen ones and look down on other races and religions. Let alone the conspiracy that they are going full expansionism and want to make that happen by violently expanding their borders. 

This is not all Israelis but seems to be the view of the current regime under Netanyahu.
