I'm still not fully accepting this "hard work" and effort thing

4 posts in this topic

Because like, a lot of teachers talk of the possibility of making an abundant living doing something that one is passionate about and that comes EASY... Others are adamant about the hard work and effort mentality. So, what is it?

Do I really have to swallow the reality that it's gonna be harsh and effortful? It feels like hard work is forced, I don't know..

@blankisomeone It's a balance. You have to work hard on your passions. Passions aren't just effortless and easy, they require a bit of hard work. Other than that yeah you shouldn't probably work hard on something you hate, this will be way too hard and ultimately unfulfilling.

Think this way: you're insulting the human race by not taking hard work seriously.

Maybe it is not one or the other.

On one hand, Michael Jordan did not become so good by slacking off, he outworked everyone around him. But at the same time, He probably enjoyed it often, and was passionate about it.

the hard part is working hard enough at something for it to become enjoyable, its a byproduct of mastery (methinks)
