It should be what you regret doing instead.

Actually that would be useful thread, in case you want to see it)

The reason I beat down his door was to develop my backbone.

You mean to develop your ego. Let’s be honest, you were fully inside the dream of Maya when you were banging that door.

Imagine you instead took a deep breath and became conscious of the illusory nature of the dentist. What would you have done then?

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie

Imagine that's not what I wanted.

I regret not using my law degree to make some money and have some ROI for all the years i dedicated to getting my degree.

I regret acquiring debt, fucking up my credit, not learning about finances, and organizing finances.

I regret not going all the way in many many oportunities, specially business opportunities that i backed down for a reason or another.

I can hardly believe that you wouldn’t want that, Mr. Truth.

Truth is more complex than your notion of it as peace, love, and rainbows.

Truth is also a fist through your door.

The truth is that your dentist was a figment of your imagination. If you were conscious of that, what would you have done? That is the question.

By that logic I am a figment of your imagination, so what are you concerned about? Why are you letting my imaginary dentist disturb your mind?

Realizing/seeing through the illusion doesn't make it any less real. The moon shining light is an illusion - it's not radiating light from itself as source like it appears to be. But it still seems as such and we do well to work with it in that manner.

Imagine being in outback Australia under the bright, illuminating moonlight from a full moon, exclaiming 'I cannot see!!'. Refusing to walk in the bushland because you won't see the ground because the 'moonlight is an illusion.'

This is what you sound like.

Not that Leo needs defending - but like, why are you following him around trying to poke holes in what you think are issues with his conduct? It reads like you are personally offended at whatever level of integration you deem them to be at. It belies your own incomplete understanding - which is why your questions appear so redundant.

You have the weirdest patterns of posting toward him. Just my perceptions. Feel free to disregard

Leo beat me to it, mind reading scum

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

You are talking about absolute truth. Leo seems to be talking ablout relative truth. If you orient everything in life about absolut truth, why are you even breathing when breath is just an imagination? Why bother ablout argumenting?

It's hard for me to say I regret certain things, because I simply wasn't conscious of it, at the time. How could I blame myself? I needed to suffer to finally get the insight. I was given all the ignorance, patterns, coping mechanisms and trauma that I've been given. This is my plate of vegetables to eat. The only thing I can control is how I act in the present.

Here are a list of things I WOULD mentor my younger self on if I could travel back in time and become a father for myself that I  never had... and a role model for myself that I needed.

Letter to myself:

I wish you had the awareness to eat healthier.

I wish you had the concept of boundaries to be able to say no to people treating you disrespectfully. I wish you felt like you could set boundaries with every bully you encountered.

I wish you worked out every day and developed a healthy relationship with exercise far earlier. Working out every day to get the body moving and do heavy strength training a couple times a week.

I wish you had the mission within yourself to see the value of developing your socialization confidence to the point of being able to speak to absolutely anyone. I wish you made socializing with new people a manditory habit.

I wish you didn't play so many videogames, watch so much porn, and watch so much TV. I wish you picked up a reading and writing habit day 1. I wish you stayed reading self help, philosophy, metaphysics and epistemology day 1.

I wish you let go of the need for your mother, father or friends to be a certain a way of to understand you. I wish you let go of the need to be understood by anyone, day 1. I wish you spoke your truth when it felt right to do so.

I wish you went to bed on time for years. I wish you solved your anxiety around going to bed. I wish you got EMDR on yourself sooner. I wish you had life coaches and therapists with with you on a weekly basis.

I wish you had the confidence to tell women you liked how you really felt. I wish you were honest about being attracted to the women you were attracted to. Rather than letting them fall away completely because you were too shy.

I wish you had the courage to speak up when you were being wronged, even if it was emotionally unsafe, even if it threatened your job. On the principle of self respect.

I wish you had a industrial reading habit.

What assumptions, beliefs, or illusions am I under right now?
