People on the this website fans of Leo have an obsession with solipsism and honestly I think it is ridiculous and a coping mechanism to make sense of a life that is otherwise absurd - I personally disbelieve solipsism and even if it breaks whatever magic you others have about the idea so be it, but I know right now I'm an experiencer and by this forum's logic you all are essentially my imagination arguing over this topic pretending to be yourselves arguing you are technically the only ones which on my end I'd know not to be true since I'm the experiencer right this moment typing this with my own limited autonomy within this dream so by this logic I have essentially disproven solipsism and fanciful thinking unless indeed the comments I am reading through are just my imagination on the spin which I doubt and I'm you sure you reading this would equally argue in a type out you are also aware this is nonsense and people should move on from it no wonder Leo deleted the video because it doesn't hold up

At the end of the day, most people feel real. And they feel like others are real. And for most it stays like this throughout their whole life. And that’s what matters. Whether you are actually real or not, illusion or not, whether you believe in solipsism or not. Those things don’t really matter because they’re just ideas for you. It doesn’t change the fact that you feel real and you feel others are real. Now if you could actually change that sense of realness, maybe get a glimpse of non duality, then we are talking, then those things are no longer just concepts. See. Direct experience is what matters. Not what ideas you hold. So take it with a light heart when you’re playing around with these ideas, and be honest with yourself when it’s just ideas vs when your actual experience is starting to change. Sometimes maybe questioning things can alter your experience, then that’s what matters, how your experience changed. If it’s just on mind level it makes no real difference. Why freak out over a concept in your mind like solipsism when you still feel like others are real? See, it most likely didn’t change anything. Your reality remained the same.

Yes.

I suppose there are scenarios where there are just more or less complex geometric shapes doing things.
In such scenarios, solipsism would be more obvious, as there are probably more obvious things to perceive/infer in our reality.

You're underestimating people's ability to live in denial. Once someone becomes addicted to feeling special, they won't let go of solipsism easily because it's their ultimate power move to be superior than others. You just label everyone you don't like imaginary and wualia, you feel like you've invalidated them. Sneaky ego defense machanism. But good luck explaining that to a solipsists.

@Salvijus exactly this is just a coping mechanism to feel more superior than the supposed dream hallucinations of other people and these forums won't give it up because it's an addiction to try and reach some feeling of being more above than any one else and Leo really played this one out to say I am dreaming him through a YouTube video which is too far of a stretch in my opinion, like come on, really? I know I exist and so by this logic all you commenters are just me dreaming my own life story into a narrative coherence, and it's not even the best this god me would come up with if I could control the rest of you how I think this dream world should actually be

It seems people define solipsism differently. I think of it like when people believe they are the only self conscious being and others lack self consciousness. It doesn’t seem to apply to what you said. Because I’m not talking about realizing “you are everything that exists”.

But I guess your point is that this human form, the body and brain, creates such a complex self structure, and it just makes sense to us that we exist, everything seems to suggest it, so makes it harder to break the illusion

Well, yeah, the mistake is to dismiss it and call it bullshit when you actually dindn't do the work.

One need to be honest and open to the idea that it might actually be the case, because it has been talked about by various sages and cultures. But, it might no be your reality yet, so honesty is the first step.
