At the start of the video Leo stated that a fundamentalist Christian has lower consciousness than a fundamentalist scientist. However both just blindly accept dogma but the Christian's world view is at least ultimately more true than the scientists right? Christians have God, love, oneness etc...so why is the Christian lower?

Because the fundamentalist is all wrapped in beliefs whereas the rational scientist is at least thinking and doubting and asking questions.

Development level is measured by the capacity of the mind to question reality. Beliefs are athithetical to that. Even having the right beliefs is worse than having the wrong belief but at least being in a process of doubting and questioning. The Christian is not questioning reality so he is stuck.

The epistemic process is more important than believing the right answer.

That is because that requires some heavy metaphysical work/understanding. Which is what I try to teach.

It's not enough to have a mystical experience, the mind needs to mine it and integrate it into a much larger understanding of Reality. It is like assembling a puzzle, but they never assemble it.

I agree what you're saying, but at the same time one of the biggest things that holds me back when it comes to mastery is state.

If you have a really great state, you master things way faster.

And if you have really mediocre, average state you can get stuck at Plato's easily.

1200-1400-1600-1800-2000-2200-2400 people often reach a certain rating and then never improve.

If you are playing chess at 2000+, you are basically within the realm of mastery already.

Don't confuse mastery with being the best in the world. That's a whole nother level which requires insane training and even right genetics.

I did not promise you that you will be best in the world.

For me ive noticed it as a combination of 

Intense self trust + desire to win + flow

Right that's reasonable, I still think it's possible naïvely to reach 10% of Magnus's strength 2600 which is the higher end of mastery without great genetics and without the same dedication of training, as long as they have really high state mastery.

Like state mastery is a separate skill, a meta skill. It's like the skill of learning which is a Meta skill.

Psychedelics would be part of the state mastery skill and the learning mastery skill because you're using this as a tool to become more conscious. Obviously the more conscience you are it's much easier to learn.

Yeah, I get the impression Leo is in flow all the time. lol if you're not inflow then your ability to learn is hammered. So you gotta step up your state game and really remastered it. And for my personal experience, it's been a very difficult challenging road with brain fog and people really don't realize all the subtleties of state.

ELO2000+ is easily reachable within 2 years if you have a structured and layered skill development. Openings are just memorization, middle-game is all about tactics and the middle is most difficult skill set, end game is just finishing it off. Currently I'm focusing on end game and being able to finish. A lot of people fuck up at some point and it is an amazing feeling to be able to turn it around and finish them and see them rage quit. The rage quits are the most enjoyable.

I'm a bit odd with chess, where I mostly only practice openings.  I like the memorization and find the patterns beautiful.  I'll focus on one opening and work on it for like 6 months or longer.  I'll play one actual game a day usually.  Tactics kind of bores me.  Endgames are useful when you're playing an actual game.
