@Raze that’s actually a crazy stat, it’s double nyc! The only way I can understand that is that Boise is a small city with a big state university and there are frat rapes there thus skewing the average. Just my guess tho

A.I. being just the tip of an iceberg is a bit of a stretch lol it pretty much is the entire iceberg. Without A.I. we probably aint getting shit, and probably will live out just a regular life. All of these inventions assume a helpfull, pro-human/pro life A.I. which will be helping us with everything including our research. Or at least that A.I. not being against us. Then it's GG for us most likely

Ai will help to spread technologies. Actually, there are several experiments/startups working on that (before AI hype).

US has a relatively healthy police to population ratio of 300 and above, and so the law enforcement there is more effective. 

However I have also seen reports of thousands of native american women raped and murdered by non-natives which has become a major issue over there in native nations.  I would say lack of proper policing in those regions maybe the issue. 

I have also stated how India not being a part of global wars have spared it from major human rights violations on a mass scale. 

The European nazis who committed the slav genocide under the influence of drugs raped and murdered millions of slav women,  and this lead to heavy soviet retribution when they invaded austria and Germany. 

The Americans,  French and Dutch similarly perpetrated atrocities on women in Vietnam,  Algeria and Indonesia  as war crimes, which are well documented. 

India has not had these kind of issues but our challenge at present is to develop our policing and judicial resources to standard levels to ensure optimal law and order.

False. In New York City 6% of rapes are gang rapes. In India local reporting finds gang rapes are 7% of rapes.

@Leo Gura you mentioned "Masculine & feminine gender roles" as good aspects of conservatism. Could you elaborate on this?

Is it because of the differences in biology: males and females (sex) are already prone to masculine and feminine gener roles (gender) and are therefore happier/more functional just embracing them? (e.g. males providing and females caring about children)

You probably have to consider underreporting of rape, also. While it is a global issue and estimated at 70% + cases are not reported, there are a few reasons to think it might be worse in India.

The barriers to entry for reporting are higher due to socio economic/development issues. Stronger stigma around sexuality, family/community pressure, legal gaps (marital rape historically not criminalised) and lower trust in institutions are some reasons. I think the stats even say some regions have ZERO rape - which strongly indicates underreporting (not an absence of crime).

It's not definitively measurable sure. But likely? Yes.

Correct, but there is also survey data. Granted you can also suggest that they are more likely to underreport even in surveys because of lack of understanding. 

But even if there is significant under reporting it still is in the ballpark of other countries like the US, which likely also has similar issues even if at a lower rate.

I am aware of the unfortunate mass gang rapes, torture and murders of women that took place during the Lebanese Civil War.

Indian soldiers compose the bulk of UNIFIL, and I am proud to say that UNIFIL has helped to bring much needed peace and stability to Lebanon,  and reduce strife between the warring factions as an impartial entity. 

I have created a thread on the same.

The Indian army is the second largest army on earth,  and Indian peacekeepers have helped to stabilize many conflict hit regions in Asia and Africa , minimize human rights violations, and set them on the foundation of peace and progress.

Indian female peacekeepers have also played a major role in empowerment of female communities in these regions,  which has been acknowledged by the UN as well.

Sure, it's gonna do that among many other things that can be hardly even imagined. If we get to that ASI stage. Future's pretty scary tbh, but still better than the lame watered-down shit we got now and in the past
