This lady's criticism of post modernism brings up legit critiques, but she fails to mention what post modernism gets right / limits of modernism. There is bias against postmodernism legit aim to deconstruct notions of objective truth that science and rationalism are attached to.

She constantly points to the ideological undertones of post modernism (which are evident), but does not mention ideologies that demonize post modernism such as materialism, and rationalism.

Reason: Who the hell uses Tiktok/Instagram-like subtitles in a supposedly "Intellectual" Youtube Essay? Obviously trying to pander to low-attention spans.

Just finished watching that video! It’s an orange worldview on the spiral denouncing a green worldview. She basically says that qualitative and subjective methodologies in therapy make no sense because they can’t be quantified and data-driven!

I watched the lady’s critique of psychology. To be honest from my point of view, while she makes so interesting points. To me, anyone who simply does not have at the heart of their world view spirituality,Tao and love will always be chasing their tail. Because how could they be doing anything else? Any other belief system would have you to believe you are a victim (not true) or there is something wrong with you / doubting your value (also untrue).

listening to the Carl Newport on AI podcast puts things into perspective. "They are glorified autofill promters". I hadn't thought of it that way. It was cool to listen to his take on the recent happening in which Claude allegedly blackmailed an employee to stop itself from being shut down. His take on how Claude's programming problably just wanted to bring a resolution to a narrative it had been fed, based on similar narratives it had learned from all of it's web data scraping helped me see that particular blackmail event from a totally different lense. It's not that its sentient, it's that it's an algorythm doing what it's designed to do...that is to complete a narrative/query it's been fed.

Other deliveries are mostly stuff only available online.

Pretty soon robot tele-slaves will carry rich fat Americans from the couch to the car. That's where all this is headed.

I do not have a car.

I live 1hr walk from the closest grocery store with the range and prices I go for.

A quick bicycle ride, but only for light stuff.

Bulk items I need delivered

@Leo Gura If you think about it, its not in the company's best interest to do that. This NEO case doesnt represent the entire robotics industry. 

Having third world country employees running these robots is massive limits on capability, communication, efficiency, etc. 

Companies like Figure are building fully autonomous robots. 

The true competition right now is for AI development, autonomy, increasing capability, and "learning systems". That's where the true growth is. 

I'm sure there will be scam robots along the way, but there are also scam AI companies too, but you see most americans using pretty high quality AI systems like ChatGPT, gemini, etc.

All these AI companies are so overinvested they will be desperate for any kind of profit. That profit will come from enslaving your kids.

@Leo Gura I don't know if you realize this but you go back and forth a lot between "we will have insane robots", "its quite possible there will be massive job loss", etc. and that all this is just hype and stuff. 

But you're right, we don't know if this is going to work. But if you look at actual evidence that Figure put out, its actually doing a) real work at BMW, and b) continuous progress, like in its folding laundry example. It's showing learning behavior in things its not taught. 

If you just look at the progress, evidence, direction the tech is heading, you'll see its quite possible. I don't know why we have to conclude so easily that this isn't happening. 

Often you categorize all these people as just "tech bros", and their is understandably a lot of corruption and hype, but you're underestimating what they're doing, what they know, etc. Do you think they're stupid to dump so much money in all this? They did before things panned out. Now if you look at Gemini for ex. its genuinely phenomenal at coding. People are making video games on it, when you said it's just good at websites for example. It's constantly proving people wrong.
