Explain why these guys say things like "I don't care about money", "I don't have hidden agendas" and charge $100 for 30 minutes of their fucking time?

https://www.youtube.com/@spiritualrenaissance

They all seem like hypocrites taking advantage of people and getting lost in the guru pedestal.

Another example is Fred Davis, charging $250 for 1 hour talk.

Yeah thats true . But hey they got themselves to have that ability . Either if they love it or not they found a way to cashout their passion so y not . If you are triggered by that its yours . Also imagine if they talked with everyone . So you dont know the full story and shouldnt try to . Dont try to change uncontrolable

That's BS. I agree with you. Charging a theft.

You should seek to transcend the limitations of the ego and the mind in order to experience a sense of unity with the universe or ultimate reality. You can do meditation, sef inquiry and contemplating for that. To recognize the underlying oneness that is believed to exist beyond the realm of dualistic perception.

You don't think it's worth the money, other people do, for some people it's a bargain and for other it's a waste of money. Depending on where you are on the spectrum according to your personal biases so it will go.

Most people are not used to pay for high quality coaching and with spirituality I feel there is some kind of stigma or facade and a naivety about survival. How is one supposed to live from mysticism if they don't charge, how are they gonna make their passion and life purpose their work?. We all have been spoilt here with Leo showering us free content that could have monetized for thousands of dollars. This is not how the market is gonna evolve because it's so hard to pull it off. It is also healthy that people can make their living of spirituality and make it more accesible. As everything if you search properly you will find in the whole internet a good price money spiritual session. So if you wanna critice particularly them for charging that or you believe that other people do it better and for free is another business.

Hopefully this was an insightful explanation, illuminating the complexities of valuing spiritual coaching and the evolving market dynamics surrounding it.

No matter how spiritual you are, in this dream it takes money to get things done. There are things called bills. Your not going to meditate away your bills. So just because they say they aren't about money, doesn't mean they aren't going to charge money. The time they spend with you not charging you, is time losing money to pay their bills. Its why some Spiritual circles ask for donations, and if they don't get donations they end up having to close up shop.

So either you ask for donations and get donations or you charge, it doesn't mean you are about money, if you want something different go climb a mountain and find a yogi and get trained and live in the mountains.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

If you implemented all he says you wouldn't need to pay. You don't (we don't) care about easy, free stuff.

@Vibes You can get the same here for free.  If you know Truth from B.S.

Let's put it this way. It's a lot like searching for magic mushrooms in a cow pasture. You gotta know what to take and what to leave.

Oh my!! $100 for 30 mins is a bargain. Can't get any better than that.

Are you paraphrasing JesusChrist here:P?

Don't underestimate yourself. I wouldn't accept anything less than $10.

I'd agree, your posts are of very high quality.

I also find myself asking why I do it, when I put a decent amount effort into my posts, and most of the time I don't even receive an answer, let alone thanks. But then I remind myself that at the end of the day I'm doing it for myself; The more I "teach", i.e. spend time at the top of the learning pyramid, the more my understanding of the subject in question increases. I suspect that this is also the prime motive for most teachers ;)

Yeah I agree. Look at people's actions not their words.

Compare these people to folks like Leo or Shinzen Young who put out 95% of their content for free. And where the 95% isn't just an elaborate sales funnel.

@Vibes My guru charges what ever I put in the box for a hour of her time. There is no set price.

The only argument for high pricing I can see is that it makes the client take the information more seriously. People who aren't serious enough to spend a 100$ on self-help are weeded out.

There is a lot of self-help out there that is more personality driven that target people who have money and are generally a bit older. High pricing alone can create the perception of good value and status. Your basically paying to be lead, which is the most expensive way of doing self-help. And arguably, if money is an issue your not the target audience.

In contrast, Leo has hundreds of hours of free content but if you still absolutely must talk to him in person about your problems then yeah sure, a 100 dollars up front. In that case, you where exposed to free self-help content first and wanting an expensive coaching session is a want on your part.

My therapy costs $175 per 50 min session. And that’s after discount

@Yimpa I thought we were your therapy?  Or are we the reason you need therapy? 😀

yup.

Interviewer: Why doesn’t God come for free?

Sadhguru: Who said there is a charge? There is no charge for the spiritual process.

Interviewer: What about spiritual courses?

Sadhguru: Why the program costs is because right now if you sit here, the lights are burning, the electricity is on. Everything costs to sit and stand here. Who has to pay it? So your idea is if somebody pays for it, you are spiritual. If you pay for it, it’s not spiritual. No, that’s not my idea. I think that’s a dastardly idea.
