Im guessing you don't hear about this at the time because these type of people would be easy to manipulate especially if you are in a position if power like Brand. 

This is why we hear these stories time and time again.

I can't say I'm surprised if it does turn out to be true. Brand seemed to have replaced his drug addiction with a sex addiction, rather than getting to the route of his issues/trauma.

The story didn't say she was picked up from school. It merely says she went to school, which any 16 year old does. So this means nothing.

must just be for British viewers then. There was a 90 min documentary on it last night. It was horrible. I feel for the women but also a lot for him too as he clearly suffering from mental illness and sex / drug addiction and should not have been allowed to work in the tv industry when he was clearly so unhinged.

I feel for his wife who is about to give birth and his two daughters as the media have portrayed him to be an absolute sex crazed monster in that investigation and why they’ve been allowed to display all that before even a trial has taken place, beats me. Very fucked up.

Last week Danny Masterson, a celebrity, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for rape. So it's certainly possible to get to bottom of some of these cases.

In the original Times article (the link is unfortunately behind a paywall now) it did mention that a driver was sent to school to pick the girl up and deliver her to Brand. But like you said from a legal stand point it's fine. Just highly immature and toxic and I'm sure it comes into the grooming territory. Getting involved with Brand during this period would more than likely turn into a total shit show. Even his current wife should hardly be surprised by this. It's like getting involved with a reformed mobster and that acting surprised if stories surface that they'd killed people in the past.

That case became a pure mess for so many people .. ashton and mila, danny's sister, etc. Im surprised they stepped down from their organization just over those letters. They did so much good work for their organization but a small mistake in supporting an old friend made them take such a big hit. Even “smart” girls change their thoughts and emotions like changing diapers. One moment they want to fuck you and another moment their mood change and they totally forget they wanted to fuck you. That is why you have to be extra careful when you are a celeb. Absolutely. That article also said that on one occasion, her mother drove her to Brand's house and pleaded with her not to go in. That alone seems very toxic and enabling her and not what I would put down to good parenting.
