Why be conscious? Why pursue enlightenment?

12 posts in this topic

Why, why? It was so clear to me a few months ago, clear enough to dedicate my life to it. Now, as my consciousness quality fell down, I forgot why it's important. Why?

Because you desire to. Simple as that. There's no need to pursue it. But if it improves your life, why not? What else are we gonna do in this illusion?

People get so wrapped up in trying to rationally justify their desires.

You can climb deeper in the illusion, crawl out to some degree, stay where you are, what do you want to do?

you need ego to realize no ego. Comes full circle.

Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?

Once you see Truth you cannot Un-see it. If you know your truth and pursue something illusory you will suffer.

Its the Universal way. That's why they say its both a blessing and a curse.

@Manjushri Because otherwise you are not whole. You are not happy. You are not at peace. Even if you somehow convince yourself that you are, the fear of death associated with egoic life is still there in your unconscious mind, and it will only grow as you age. You feel it in your chest right where you sternum is.

Some need that 'enlightenment', some don't, some don't even suspect such a 'nothing' can occur for them.
